The Rockwell 6S is also my favorite razor. Plate No. 3 for daily shaving.

I have a gunmetal 2C. Excellently finished and balanced. Comes with plate R1/R3, with which I have never nicked my skin (nor, alas, ever achieved a bbs). I wrote to the Company asking them to help me find where to purchase one of the more aggressive plates (of the SAME colour) and they answered back that I was free to buy an R4 or R6 plate in any other version. Ever since, I've simply stopped using the razor. But yes, they are well made.

I started out with a safety razor in the mid-'70s, then converted to the disposable cartridge blade razor. I have always used shaving cream from a can. I decided recently to try a DE razor and use a brush and shaving soap. I got an Edwin Jagger DE89, a badger brush, and Poraso soap. Shaving has become an enjoyable ritual for me. I am expecting my Rockwell 6s to arrive any day now. It was you, Kevy, who inspired me to convert. Thank you.

When I first got it, it was plate 3 and over a year now it is plate 4😉

In my neck of the Texas woods, the C19 inoculations are only available to 1st responders, teachers, folks 70 plus years of age or anyone with certain pre-existing conditions. Retired vets like myself, under 70 years of age, are not on the radar yet within the U.S. Veteran’s Administration. This was indeed a relaxing memorable session. It featured a chameleon color-changing 6S! That surprise was well executed. When the video began, I was actually very happy to see the H2. I see it was put to good use. I've never smelled the sandalwood by Trumper's. That being said, I can see for myself that the lather is superb. Your bathroom was like a concert hall; ringing with audio feedback. It is a refreshing sound. It is the music of a great shave. In all honesty I wouldn't mind the same brush, and a different color 6S, with the only change being the blade, soap/cream, and post shave. Please remain safe and sound. Took me until the third pass before I realized I was watching different razors. I do have two 1960 super speeds that I like to compare blades with. But nothing as extravagant as four color coded razors. Good for you...

Just got my 6C, after 2 months waiting for it and using a Rapira "Platinum Lux" (I got it to test if I would like to use safety razors). Man, this is life on easy mode!!! Cheers from Brazil!

I have the chrome version and it's by far my favorite razor. My go too plate is number 5, bangers and mash with onion gravy and mushrooms.

I just purchased the Alt Innsbruck splash and pre/post emulsion, really great stuff. Here in the states we've had hell with lockdowns for a year, now it looks like four more years of hell with a corrupt, ignorant, old Washington DC dinosaur in charge. Heaven help us all. It's funny Kevy, the best single pass I have ever had with my Rockwell 6s or 6c was the plate 6 pass today! I was always a bit wary because of my sensitive skin but no problem whatsoever. Plus now I'm a member of the Plate 6 club, (😁), I feel quite the master of DE shaving!! 😂😂. Next shave with my new Rocca will probably cut me to pieces!! 😖😖. Stunning shave Sir!! Stay safe, Dave.

Kevy, it appears that I have a similar family as you. Like you, this is my favorite razor and I have all but the red 6s. I will be purchasing the red soon. Every time I use a razor other than a 6s I am not satisfied.

My favourite 6c plate was originally 4, then 6, now 2 since I started shaving every day.

I think (and from my own experience) people that don't get good lather from a cream is because they (we) don't use enough to start with. Just don't be stingy, use enough and it will be great!! Nice video. I like these original videos. Cheers

Bought a 6s 2 weeks ago, i've only used plate 4 with a feather blade and i get an amazing shave compared to my DE89. I'm waiting on some Nacet blades to try out this weekend.

Rockwell 6s is in my top five rankings.

Love my 6S thanks to you and SinatraLennon's recommendation. Plates 2-3 are my go to. 4 was a little aggressive since I felt it afterwards but really should've done pass one with a 4 and pass two with 2 plate. It may be the last razor I buy for quite some time (I'd say ever but never say never again)

As a so called beginner (again) not wet shaved for at least 3+ year then was with a Wilkinson classic the (black one) did the mistake of getting the new Wilkinson's sword razor (chrome one) and Arko shaving soap (burns like hell after first shave) did not get on with either thought id buy one on these bad boys to try good job i re-watched this video as i would have gone from low to high thinking getting more aggressive each time to cut more instead on high to low getting less aggressive (just like sandpapering) less nick and redness even going mad and trying your combination (lot nicer shave) used TOBS Jermyn Street Shaving cream this time Been bing watching these videos now!!! Kevy, I noticed on the Feather blades, there is a "new high stainless' Feather blade. I have the older Feather blades. I was so confused during the shave and thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me... until you revealed that you had FOUR of the Rockwell razors in different colours! 😂 While watching I was busy lathering my face, not for a shave, but just because it’s so relaxing and satisfying. As you may or may not know Kevy, I am trying to grow a full beard for the first time and it has only just passed the itching stage, but it still flares up from time to time. The only thing that helps is lathering up, giving it a wash and a scrub and applying coconut oil afterwards. So that’s what I was doing just now. So thanks for the shave and chat! It’s been keeping me sane during this lockdown and during the process of growing this accursed beard. But I have to do it at least once though, just to see what it’s like (and what it looks like)! Hello Kevy, which safety razor is better "Rockwell or Colibri (hummingbird)"?

I must say I loved the shave with the Rockwell. I unfortunately made the mistake of buying the Chinese 6c I would say to anyone push the boat out for the 6s as my 6c expired after very little use. If at a later stage I can afford a 6s I wouldn't hesitate as I loved the razor but not the quality.

Got my 6c at crimbo. 5 and 3 doing it for me. Got an R41 head coming soon my have to book an ambulance or not need to shave for a fortnight lol. Going to Frankenrazor it with a Parker handle. A bit trepidatious.

Hey Kevy great Xmas gifts this year 🤣 I have the matte, blue, and black myself. To me the black and blue look better but the glide of the material isn't quite as smooth as matte. Have you experienced that?

Creams i find just have a narrower range. Easy to overhydrate and destroy the lather. Soap gives you more room to breath

Hello Kevy. I usually use 3 or maximum 4 for face shave and 5 for head shave. Plate 5 and 6 result of a blood bath. Do you think I am doing something wrong?

So how does the Rockwell on the 6 setting compare to an R41 with both using the same blade? I get the impression from the way you are shaving, even with the Rockwell on its highest setting, it is not as aggressive.

After a year of using it I’m settling on plate 4 as a daily plate. Plate 3 is completely drama free for me but I can’t get as close as I would like without a lot of pick ups. I’m trying to resist the temptation to buy other razors as I know my technique is more responsible for any shortcomings than the razor. I would still like to get closer on my neck which seems to always have a few prickles left which , if I pursue too persistently, runs the risk of irritation. You were the inspiration for me buying the 6s in the first place. I still feel the itch to try Gamechanger/Karve etc. Having tried them all would you confirm my suspicion that I’m best off just being content with what I have and focusing on improving technique?

I was convinced Kevy that a combination of my bogstandard phone, perhaps your lighting there, too, were making your Rockwell razor look to have different colours during the shave..until you revealed that you'd been using Rockwell razor*s*. Decadence, so many razors of exactly the same type. :) Mind you, I only feel a little less guilty wanting to buy Rockwell 6C (the chrome), whilst I already own the 6S. So, decadence on me, too :) Take care..!

All the colors: so Puuurty! :D But I understand, I felt the same about collecting all the Gillette Adjustables....Some kind of good news, I will never see the Baby Futur but after 5 months; I have received a refund...It's better than nothing but I am not exactly happy...Happy New Year and Carry On... ;-)
