upt123 Michigan played this way better....this is elementary compared to their version, and sounded like the actual movie soundtrack....heard it in person...just keepn it funky, and I marched on a hbcu marching band and corp style.
hitwonder101 ... No they didn't. UM's trumpets were too dominant; the actual Bill Conti piece features lower brass like Southern articulated. Love Michigan, love SU. But for my take this version is superior; more emotion than any version I heard thus far.
That was awesome. Anyone with any musicianship can appreciate the arrangement and the performance. Regardless of the school pride and loyalty, this was awesome.
@@hitwonder101 I have been listening to Carolina Crown for nearly 30 years and have YET to see or hear them play this song. Although I'm certain they'd absolutely kill it... I'm almost JUST as certain that they've never played it. So I'm going to have to take the time to call bs on your statement until you can prove otherwise 🙂 🙃 -I'd happily stand corrected
If I was in the middle of a football game and I heard one of the marching bands playing this song and playing it as well as this.. I would literally stop what the hell I'm doing and just watch right from the dam field!
Sorry JY601, this song in itself was as powerful as it comes and Bill Conti is still smiling with excitement after hearing it ..... you have to have it in your music bank when you get there not weeks after you here someone else play it.........'Jukebox Heat'
@@joeylyrickz796 I mentioned JSU cause obviously southern was up against them. Jsu is great but during this battle 3 years ago Southern gave it to them
"Love Saw It" written/conducted by Mr. Cornell Knighton, and "Going The Distance" written/conducted by Brian Simmons are two all time greatest song played by THA JUKE... now you can argue yo mammy bout that!!! Do your research!!! Often imitated, never duplicated!!!
