Just rode Steel Vengeance last summer, my first rmc. It pretty much took my spot as my number 1 coaster. But then I also rode Fury 325. Both really good for what they do. But then I just rode Iron Gwazi last week, phenomenal ride! 76 mph with No break run. My top 3 coasters!
I wonder what Cedar Point was expecting when hitting up RMC for Mean Streak. Were they planning to turn it into the greatest coaster or just a solid addition? And were they expecting the response we gave em with many of us believing it to be the best coaster so far.
Had to be expecting something great. With how RMC took the industry by storm and Cedar Point's historic dedication to building record breaking rides, I can't imagine they were expecting anything but the best and RMC delivered in a huge way.
Something I've noticed is that the older RMCs tend to be an overall upgrade of a wooden coaster's original layout. While it adds all sorts of new crazy-ass elements, inversions, and glass smooth track, they more or less follow the ride's layout. However, these new ones like Iron Gwazi and Wildcat's Revenge essentially just take a little bit from the existing support structure and makes an ENTIRELY NEW ride out of it.
Wow, they went from New Texas Giant to Steel Vengeance in just 7 years, that's super impressive, Sometimes i forget how new RMC coasters are to the industry, and i can't wait to see what they accomplish in the future. Now with Joe Draves as the new lead designer I'm really curious to see what he can do, so far ArieForce One looks fantastic.
Oh wow, I didn’t know that Joe Draves became the lead designer. That actually is super exciting because he designed Steel Curtain and Maxx Force which are both bangers.
I wouldn't even call any RMC 'decent' because every single one of them have become one of the best rides (if not best) in their parks. I don't think they have made any that are "just OK" Even the 'worst' RMC is still an oustanding attraction.
I’’ve ridden Steel Vengeance and a couple weeks ago Iron Gwazi, Gwazi is the most insane, yet every RMC is a different experience. Gwazi was like a high speed snake chasing after the mongoose. Super intense lateral G’s.
@@TinkerTailorSoldier1 I know they didn't. It was velocity magnetics. I just want more RMC coasters to incorporate launches. I love launches more than lift hills!
is the NTG supposed to be clunkin' around the course like that??? if after 13 years it is already sounding like that I doubt 6F is taking care of it properly.
The pacing goes from quick to fast to quite fast to really fast to unbelievably fast to illegally fast in just 7 years. We’ve had 70 years of arrow and 100 of PTC, what geometry dash extreme demon type pacing will rmcs have in 2100? God knows
Iron Rattler looks incredible. i Just love the little movements through the overall pacing. Goliath almost felt like a dive coaster it.. it coasted over the lift hill at like 2mph, that was actually really neat. I would to see like a some kind of barrel roll that goes up 90º then flips out to a top hat, dont really see elements like that (lets say like dragster for example)
I've been on all the RMC's in US other than Jersey Devil. Steel Vengeance is my top one, followed by Lightning Rod and Iron Gwazi. I would tier them as follows (And I would guess where my expectations are for the ones I've have not been on: A: Steel Vengeance, Lightning Rod, Iron Gwazi, Zadra (Expect), Hakugei (Expect) B: Untamed (Expect), Arie Force One (Expect), Twisted Timbers, Wildfire (Expect), Outlaw Run C: Storm Chaser, Twisted Colossus, Iron Rattler D: Wicked Cyclone, Medusa (Expect), RailBlazer, Wonder Women (SFFT), Stunt Pilot E: Twisted Cyclone, Goliath, F: Wonder Women (SFMM) (Expect), Jersey Devil (Expect), Joker, New Texas Giant
@@Starlit43 Most have Jersey dEvil as their least favorite RMC. I think it could be better than New Texas Giant, but I have my doubts it will be any better than Joker at SFDK. It won't be as intense as the smaller single rail version. I think it is a fair expectation going into the ride.
Me personally, my top 3 RMCs are: 3: Wicked Cyclone at Six Flags New England. It packs an amazing punch! 2: Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point. It offers such an array of airtime moments that it can’t really be beaten for me. This may be a hot take, but I prefer… 1: Lightning rod at Dollywood. It has so many moments of air time and sure, it may be a maintenance nightmare, but it’s an amazing right nontheless
I don’t understand there were only two inversions the downwards heart line roll and the zero g roll, why does everyone say there are three, the overbank turn is the closest thing to it, but even that doesn’t get close, what’s the third inversion?
Hating on steel vengeance just became the cool thing to do, and now people just take it out of their top 5s come on guys this is still arguably the best coaster of all time
Ya know, considering how they like hang time on their coasters, I'm shocked RMC hasn't done a loop yet Also, why can't more of their RMCs have a launch like Lightning Rod?
In reference to your question about loops, I'd imagine it's because the way the support structure is designed, it would be hard to make a loop as such an element requires a lot of structural integrity to compensate for the vertical Gs - especially if they used a circular loop which I'm sure they'd use based off of their building style and how they handle other elements/inversions. They have built some dive loops/raven dives though I hope my 🤓 answer helped you in some way even if it's such a late response. Would be cool to see a loop on an RMC Hybrid
