Today's Episode: Rod Liddle, Associate Editor of The Spectator and perhaps the only journalist to sell out The London Palladium, joins Peter Whittle to discuss Brexit, BBC bias, his loathing for London and the Liberal Elite and why he has decided to join a political party that few know still exists.
He also speaks about how, prior to the Left's "Long March" through British institutions, many institutions and fields we regard as predominatly Left (such as teaching) were previously Right.

I bought a car in North London recently and the dealer who was born and lived there all his life told me an amazing story - a local immigrant had bought a car from him a while ago and asked him where he was born - when he told him the immigrant asked to shake him by the hand because he had lived in North London for three years and he was the first white person he had met who had been born there - isn't diversity great!

At last I’m hearing from someone who understands exactly how I feel. I guess some people have a much stronger sense of identity and belonging and don’t appreciate being dictated to by bureaucrats who have no understanding of our own culture. I’ve realised that I am more for the working class than the liberal elite who seem to live in a precious Metropolitan bubble.

Tory party? I remember them because I have been working in Spain for years but weren't they the ones who tried to sell unsaleable products to countries which produce vast quantities of the same products cheaper at home in a currency which nobody else uses at the same time as removing peoples ability to buy goods and services by cutting wages in a recession with a massive cost of living crisis and record breaking inflation, with dizzy lunatic truss you are looking at levels of poverty not seen since the 1930s leading almost inevitably to revolution

I was born and bred in Newham in east London, where I knew it wasn’t a great place to live but my family and friends were there, there was always people from different backgrounds, until we had mass immigration and then I didn’t even recognise the place or people anymore, my friends had already moved away along with family members, so in the end we moved and I can honestly say it was the best thing I have ever done, I’m much happier (although I don’t feel attached as I did when I lived in London) but I couldn’t go back to London and almost all of the Rod Liddle interview resonated with me. So well done Mr Liddle.

Ron Liddle is so right about London. I'm a Londoner born and bred and come from generations of Londoners. London was at its best when it was just an ordinary City with real people Communities and families. Our street was like the League of Nations we had a representation of people from different parts of the world and we all got on. Nobody was on benefits everybody went out to work and the families bought their homes and did their best to send their children to good schools. London was a great place. It lacked the pretentiousness it has now which myself and other dwindling Londoners find gut wrenching. And actually one of the reasons why a lot of Londoners now just want to leave. That alongside the sheer expense which means that the Communities that once were are no longer accessible to the ordinary people that flourished in this town. The community was everything the value of properties and the prettiness of the place was of secondary concern. The first thing that happened when an area became gentrified the garden fences that used to be waist high and allowed people to talk to each other went up and the community was instsntly disconnected from one another. London may not have been a pretty place in the days when I was growing up but it was full of character lots of life and the people who live there owned the city it certainly doesn't didn't own them like it does now. I'm so glad that I lived in London when I did it was truly a great place accessible to all. Unlike now.

Just because someone doesnt like foreign music or foreign languages doesnt automatically make one racist, as long as they dont impose their taste onto others. Kind of amazing that someone can do just the same thing as they accuse some else of doing. ALL whilst providing not one shred of proof, evidence or even argumentation. Yet incredibly Getting Warmer is more than likely in NO doubt that he is the rational, sane and wise one in the exchange. Based On??? Who knows. Or indeed who COULD know, when such people do nothing more than throw our glib, meaningless accusations, based on? They never seem able to quite state why, in anything like a reasonable, rational, logical fashion. Apparently simply labelling someone and calling them a derogatory name is ample. It is now seemingly sufficient and has taken the place of preferring reasons and an argument. It really did not used to be this way. People were NOT always this, simplitic, gullible and indoctrinated.

He's spot on about the bubble of London, Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol. Bristol in particular alarms me. One of my first bosses was from Bristol and had that thick farming accent. Now when you hear anyone on the radio saying they are from Bristol notice they have a London accent. Basically Londoners have moved to Bristol and are turning it into another pretentious shithole, devoid of any personality. Recently there was a story about people in Bristol putting spikes in trees to stop birds shitting on their cars. Does anyone believe those responsible were real Bristolians. I left London few years ago and can't discuss Brexit with those who I used to know. I've been labelled a racist despite my partner being Polish. I know plenty from London who claim we need another vote because the poor Brexit voters were lied to. In each case what they really mean is that overpopulation causes rents to rise which suits them as they have property portfolios. They employ cheaper Polish tradesmen to work on their properties and they usually own properties in EU too. The elite have proven that they despite the average working man. It's time for a huge political change if democracy is to survive.

Immigration is an interesting yet volatile topic to discuss. I've been an "immigrant" in 3 separate countries in Asia for the past 7 years and it's very effectively managed and controlled. I certainly wouldn't want to see a radical increase in immigration here in Japan (even though Japan needs it) and the thought of Tokyo being less than half Japanese is mind-boggling. A lot of those who advocate for open borders and mass-immigration are doing it for nothing more than social credit points, and these are often the people who live a million miles away from the kind of communities that get affected by it. Multi-culturalism (in my experience) doesn't really make sense as people feel more comfortable by sticking together with those from a shared cultural background. When this happens, it only creates further divisions in society which in turn cause resentment and eventually hostility.

School said it wasn't age appropriate even though he promised to 'tone it down' and not make it to raunchy. Vine basically supported him and called the school out for being unreasonable. He even got a drag queen who the boy( yes repeat boy) loves to call in and support him. Seems the BBC has learnt nothing from the Saville fallout and actively promotes peodaphelia.

In fact, the Mail is now 'hard' liberal-left on a host of topics, where articles reflect the new editorial position and comments are heavily censored. The Duran’s director is Peter Lavelle, who is a host of RTS - the Russian state news outlet. It's a right wing mouthpiece for pro Russian pro Putin regime views. Its been accused of propagating right wing conspiracy theories, plagiarism, poor sourcing and far right wing bias. The fact that you feel this a better alternative to the BBC says it all.

Grey Chip Too true Grey Chip spot on. I bet there’s not many homes of multiple occupancy full of unskilled Eastern European men in Chipping bloody Norton. Yet, we’re expected to just accept it in the old industrial communities in the Midlands and the North. Having said that I don’t blame anybody one bit for moving to another country to better their lives. But, I bet they’d prefer to stay with their families in their own countries if only they had the jobs. If the EU was so benevolent why haven’t they spread the love and encouraged businesses and big corporations to put decent jobs in the poorest EU countries.

It is not that the bbc is left leaning. It isn,t even that is still hugely middle class. It is the fact that their interviewers allow their beliefs to regularly rise to the surface when confronting someone. It has put paid to my idea of the bbc being unbiased. Emily maitlands interview, last week, should have seen her fired. I expect bbc interviewers to do their job not act like a pissed off member of the public.

It's CERTAINLY left of where conservatism lies on the political spectrum. Cameron is to blame for this following Bliar towards 'the middle' in a futile attempt to appeal to all and sundry. His pronouncement the 'We're all in it together' is an indication of his total disconnect. Corbyn took the Labour party back to its roots, and hopefully Boris will do the same for the Tories, in which case there will be no need for UKIP, or the Brexit party

UK has joined EU since 1973 and so far EU has, according to economists, had an overall negative effect on UK. The collapse of Thomas Cook travel firm is just the beginning. The UK economy has slowly come pretty close to what happened to France economy with higher taxes, high current price and lower wages. The yellow vests movement greatly reflected the miserable lives of French people nowadays, who have been forced to make a difficult choice between having food on table or paying utility bills. It's not too late for UK to leave EU before Britons face the choice that French people did.

Liking this programme a lot. Got a lot of time for Rod Liddle and Peter Whittle is great - very good interviewer and comes from the same part of London as me. Sadly the London of close British communities is a thing of the past. Noisy and overcrowded, it’s now become about squeezing in as many people as possible from anywhere in the world under the pretext of economic benefits. Quality of life is not even a concern and what is worse, our surrounding countryside is being built on to accommodate all the new arrivals. Sad and troubling times ahead.

Altho’ I dislike London, the stats actually show it provides 30% of all UK taxes, up from 25% 10 years ago (whilst Manchester, the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ only grew its tax base by 1% in the same period). That’s the same as the total cost of the NHS & Education budgets. The City of London provides £75bn alone! Much as we might wish otherwise, London is the engine room of the country.

Trouble is, many of those “Londoners” who voted for Brexit did so because they wanted to stop immigration by white people!! Also, everyone is missing the point. The point is, Brexit has shown that our political system is not fit for purpose. “Representative” democracy isn’t democracy. It might have been the best thing available when the dissemination of news was slow and available only to a few, but now that modern media has made the latest information instantly available, electing someone to think for you doesn’t work. It just makes people angry. Also the world is very different now. In the past, our leaders came from many different backgrounds. They had practical experience of the world. In the real old days the king led his troops into battle. He had to know about war, not just the exciting stuff but the mundane. How best to transport food and supplies across difficult terrain etc. Even in comparatively modern times there was diversity among our leaders with different backgrounds and different lives. Each with his own special knowledge to bring into the discussion. But now practically everyone in politics - and the media - are virtual clones. Practically all the same. The same personalities, the same education (or lack of) the same backgrounds, the same experiences, and crucially, the same failure to differentiate between the theory and the practice. We should change our political system to acknowledge the world has changed. One man’s opinion is as good as another. And crucially, a poor working man is just as entitled to vote for what’s good for him as those pretty vile people occupying parliament who vote for what’s best for them. And lastly, why weren’t MPs required to state any special interest they might have in our relationship with the EU? John Major is no longer an MP but he was Prime Minister, people listened to him but he didn’t bother to own up to living in Spain!

@maxmullen6337

MauriatOttolink. Thanks for your comments. I could say a lot more on the subject, especially about how our young people have been lied to. Actually I could write a book. And the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that no honourable person would even work in the broadcast media. Not in news or current affairs anyway. And our teachers seem just plain ignorant. (The vast majority of them have only read books - written by people who have read a lot of books!!) A couple of thoughts for you. Why do we only speak about the “Far Right”, never the “Far Left”. Why is it ok to complain about Right Wing White Supremacists, but not about Left Wing White “Suicidalists” (just made-up that word) who are the people in charge at the moment - and seem determined to end white culture? Why has no one noticed that the Quran is a psychopath’s charter? I predicted the virtual end of British industry way back in the early sixties. Everyone said I was mad. The British had invented industry and we still made cars, trains, ships, iron and steel etc etc. It couldn’t end. But now all the real car makers are foreign, we can’t make proper civilian ships (and those two aircraft carriers are French designed and built under French supervision). Even the very few trains we say we make, are really just assembled here. Our trains use French signalling and on our roads we use German traffic lights!! This time we are facing the end of white people. And I was right about industry in the sixties and I know I’m right now. A death wish is the only wish guaranteed to come true!
