@Will N this was definitely on Price is Right...Rod Roddy was not the original announcer, but he did a fantastic job of replacing the legendary Johnny Olson, who coined the infamous "Come on down!" RIP Rod
And I know Rod will be delighted up above, because just recently as part of Dream Car Week, they actually gave away a new car in the one-bids (first time since the Bill Cullen TPIR)!!
Bob: Roger...Er..Rod? Would you like a glass of water? Or a glass of something? I think they both already had a glass of something before the show that day!
Bob, Rod, and even Johnny Olson were known to be heavy drinkers during tapings. I remember there was one episode where Bob came out and told everyone "We have partying right up until showtime." And it showed throughout the show.
bearcattony00 there's another episode where bob cracks up about a price involving a picnic and then kitty litter was added on. He laughed "we'll take kitty litter on our picnic."
This is the only time ever on this show that I can recall this happening to the announcer. I read somewhere that something similar happened to Rich Fields once but I have never seen a clip of it.
@@garrygriffy1866Yes, but they happened less often after the Las Vegas primetime special. Rod Roddy's camera appearances were cut when Showcase winners go to their prizes.
