I dedicated this to my son when he was a little boy (he's 38 now). He will forever be young. I'm so proud if what he's accomplished in his 38 years. Love you son.🥰

Even during his earlier rocker days, Rod was, and still is, a master song interpreter at heart. (Hence Nick's accurate remark that his vocals make the song better than it probably should be.) His phrasing and the wonderful sandpaper grit in his voice bring poignancy to whatever ballads he sings.

Yes it hits differently when you have kids. Heard this song so many times when I was young I looked it but never really understood it. Then I had babies and I cry when I hear it now.

Just saw this and cried myself into hiccups.. The sentiments are so precious and Rod's rendition is the most powerful. Forever Young = you'll always be my precious child no matter what your age is. ❤❤❤❤

Releasd 3 years after my son passed away he was 15 months old. It tore my heart out when I first heard it & still does after all these years. Rod Stewart is a gem & everything he's sang is brilliant.

Heard this a "million" times... Always sounds good. "Whatever road you choose - I'm right behind you win or lose". Living this now, as my kids are older, transitioning to be their "coach". Love them and know that they always have my support!

This was the song, from day one, that I said was to my daughter. She died in 2021 and to this day I get really emotional when I hear it. And she was 40 when she passed. All these years later it will always be my song for her.

One of my fave's from Rod. Another great song from this same album is "Lost In You." You gotta go further back and check out "Tonight's the Night" or "The Killing of Georgie, Parts 1 and 2."

*Gentleman* so I'm commenting *BEFORE* watching your reaction, by design on this one.! My daughter is getting married in 3 weeks and I, as a former touring musician was asked to choose the song for the Father/Daughter dance.! As a musician I *agonized* thru so many in my mind.! Almost went with Daughters by John Mayer but the lyrics in this song by Rod was the clincher.! Been subscribed, love your format and variety of genre's & artists you react to but I saw this and had to share.! David .....

Looking for some loving, try to learn the words to his song; "Your in my heart". Rod has been around from the early days playing with the British Blues tour, sang with Howling Wolf and many bands wanted him. He has numerous hits to choose from, his "Unplugged" album might give you a good listen of his talent.

Boys - while you still have Rod’s album (Out of Order) in your minds, take 5 minutes and listen to one of his better rocker numbers (his forte) called Lethal Dose of Love - it is what that unique voice of his does best - rock out! No one does it better than Sir Rod! No one!!!

SIR Rod Stewart was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to the arts. That IS Rod’s son, Sean. Believe it or not, Rod has EIGHT kids and he’s a GRANDFATHER now. Icon!!

Must listen: LED ZEPPELIN "DAZED AND CONFUSED" (Jimmy Page on guitar/one of top 3 of all time) & "BLACK DOG" also LED ZEP both from Celebration Day, their one time only reunion since 1980 when they lost their infamous drummer John Bonham. Perhaps the best rock band of all time!

Bob Dylan released "forever young" in 1974 , in 1984 Alphaville released "forever young" an updated version, same chorus but different lyrics, , Rod Stewart did a much better version of Bob Dylan's in 1987, Jay-z then did a remix of Alphaville's version.
