Trolls F Off. This is brilliance and pure nostalgia incarnate. I wasn't even born yet, but I feel it and see it. Such presence they both had. And Rod still sounds as good in 2016 as he did in the 60s. That's amazing. Probably the best singer ever.

Rod always seems to perform better when he's onstage with Ron Woods. Just a rapport and chemistry that they have that brings the best out in Rod.

When he and Ronnie looked at each other it inspired rod to sing a bit better with his slightly overworked vocals!! True freindship!

Imagine being a musician and given 4 minutes to be the backing band for Rod on his signature song. There is no finer live version than this. Even Rod acknowledges the group with the first two words out of his mouth when the song is over.

I had the honour of seeing Rod Stewart & the Faces live in concert twice...... in Detroit & Toronto, back in the 70's. It was great then. Awesome now.

There should be a Thumbs Up with LOVE when it comes to these two. Rod and Ronny are rock music legends, joined at the hip. Ronny's book has some lovely stories of when they were kids in the early days of the faces. They were so young and shy that when the girls came back to their hotel after the gigs they would rig up dividers between their beds. So cute and so human. God bless the pair of them.

Rod is right - Letterman's house band are so tight. That's as good as Rod's own band play it

Ronnie Wood provided both the bottom and acoustic melody to most of Rod Stewart's songs. Taking absolutely nothing from his songwriting and tenacious original vocals, without Wood he would have been another incomplete and frustrated artist. Together though, they created rock-and-roll legend.

Letterman show only paid performers union scale (about $500 at the time). Rod did this gig simply to perform in front of an audience - which he loves to do and it shows. Magnificent!

Letterman's band are also really good - Rod says it at the end "great band". You know, it's not easy for a TV band to keep up with world famous, all time great, professional musicians, and put out a concert quality version - he was just acknowledging that

Why does no one ever choose to leave out the Letterman intros to musical performances on The Letterman Show? They add nothing but time as far I've ever been able to discern.

What a pro man. Your modern band will turn up 6 hours early, and be sound checking and practising all afternoon for a show this size. Rod and Ronnie show up 2 hours early, don't even bring their own backing band, just use the show's band, and are perfection

@SirBrianCabrera Yes. Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart both used to be in the Jeff Beck Group in the 1960s. They then left and formed The Faces. Rod Stewart then went solo, and Ronny Wood joined the Rolling Stones. However, they both played still in the Faces as well, for a number of years, until Wood exclusively played with the Stones, and Stewart exclusively played solo. Wood And Stewart played togethor from 1967 to 1976
