It sounds good because there's an original you can compare it to and it modifies the original to your ears. If this was the original and the first time you heard it, you wouldn't like it as much as you do. In your mind you are still listening to the original which is perfect by Elton John. Without that there would be no this.
It's pretty, I do love Rod verrrry much, in his own songs, but this was no Elton version, not by far. I Although it is smooth. I think Al Jarreau's version of it was better than Rod's though if I have to talk about copies

Em termos de arranjo musical e melodia, Rod Stewart foi a melhor. Mas em termos de interpretação, Al Jarreu foi excelente, mas Billy Paul humilhou a todos. Veja como Billy se portou na música!
