My best friend of 38 years went to the concert with me when he told the crowd that the song was about God. She passed away last week and this song has given me strength, After he told the crowd that this song was about God, I held her hand the entire song. Rest in peace, my precious Carolyn.
@@mariasanchezrodriguez2512 I agree with you that it is not "about God." But there is an unmistakable religious undertone to this Van Morrison ballad. "We should give thanks and pray to the One." Morrison seems to be acknowledging God as the ultimate cause of the subject of the song. I am not a religious person myself, but doesn't that make the song even better? I think so.
I know that I’ve already shared that I went to a concert in February and Rod announced that this song was about God. I had my best friend of 38 years with Me. And I held her hand crying the whole song because of the beauty in it and my love for God and her. she passed away last week and this song has given me tremendous strength.
