In today video I'm going to show you my new project - 1/32 Siemens-Schukert D.III.
This kit was very popular in one of the "Next build" voting, however, because of the post delays I didn't have the kit.
It was delivered couple of weeks ago, so I decided to build it.
Hope I will finish this project by the end of the year.
As a prototype I selected machine SSW D.III 1611/18 of Kest 4b, just because I like a small dragon on the fuselage.
This plane originally was dispatched to Jage II on April 30st, but was returned to the factory for modification
Please like and subscribe to see more my builds.

An interesting kit and not a common subject among modelling companies, especially in 1/32 scale. Good old Roden to the rescue albeit its issues of flash and poor decals! With the demise of WNW, the quality available to us WW1 modellers is limited unless spending mega bucks on kits no longer issued but available on eBay or new companies charging $500-600 for a kit developed from previous moulds. Aside from that, a great start on the Siemens. I noted that you 'paint' with a needle....excellent idea for those tight, thin areas I'm guessing. Another idea for the vault!!

Agreed, right now prices are crazy for WnW models, especially I like the price for Gotha G.IV from $800 to $1600 - that's too much for me

@@FlyingCircusModels Yes, absolutely crazy. I have the Gotha in my stash which I paid $150 Australian dollars some years ago so am so pleased I purchased it when it was available.

Lucky you, are you going to build it or just enjoy having it? 😀

@@FlyingCircusModels I will build it in the future....it was the next project however, moving to another state (in Australia) we had to put all our furnishings into storage (including my stash) while our new home is being built. Once in, it will be the first kit I will be building. Can't wait!!

I’m a big fan of your videos, could u possibly make a tutorial for how to make all those wires for the rudder petal and control stick?
@FlyingCircusModels
@FlyingCircusModels 2 года назад
Thank you so much. About wires, can you take a look my recent video - Fokker D.II cockpit, I showed the process there. Also I thought to make a "How to video" about rigging - would it be interesting?

Beautiful! I just got a few in 72 scale. One from Classic Plane, two of the three types from Pegasus and of course one from Roden. Cool video my friend. And cool jams BTW.

Hi. Could you tell me what you used for the control wires in the cockpit for the rudder pedals? Cheers. 😊

Hi Ronald, for all rigging and wiring processes I use the same black nylon beading thread, it's around 0.2mm in diameter

you could get another one and build 17 victory ace fritz beckhardt's machine. Beckhardt was jewish and had a swastika on the fuselage. he refused to surrender his fighter and flew it to switzerland after nov.11. Beckhardt served with loerzer and goering. ended up in Buchenwald but was saved by goering in 1940. ended up dying of stroke in 1960. There is a picture of Beckardt in his siemens if you google beckhardt's name. by the way, fantastic work!!

great story, definitely can be a nicely looking plane with the story behind it. I will keep in mind Beckhardt's prototype, if I decide to build another SS D.III

Decals are terrible, get a 3rd party set if u buy this, and the flash is everywhere
@FlyingCircusModels
@FlyingCircusModels 2 года назад
Yeah, I know it's so "Rodenish" to have an awful decals, I already ordered Aviatic lozenge decals.
