I have the same booster pump. It is by far one of my best purchases. I highly recommend it!

Nice addition to your RO Deven. I was running 55psi before I installed the same booster pump you have and now I’m at 76-80psi which is adequate. I mounted mine on the wall over top of the RO unit. The rubber feet absorb a lot of the vibration but you can still hear it a little.

Thanks Dev! Love my booster pump. I added a second membrane to get 200GPH! Note with the stronger pressure you will need to check on the membrane as the life is less when you push more pressure through it. Just check your TDS on the membrane output to make sure it is always 0. Also as you mentioned there is a screw on the bottom of that unit to adjust the outgoing pressure if anyone needs to adjust it up to 90.

A very good purchase for my rodi unit , my house pressure was 30psi and now i can crank it to 90psi , but i have a question i notice my booster pump was “hot” is it normal or i need to worry about , also great videos and greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴

I am upgrading my rodi unit to commercial size unit and bought all the parts and diying the design, 2800 GPD with 170 psi booster pump with rotary wane pump that pumps 5 gpm.

I installed a booster pump about 6 months ago. Huge difference. I can see now I want an auto flush valve. I'm curious on how you will mount the booster pump. I installed mine on a 2x4 with a rubber pad against the drywall in the garage but it still sounds like the washing machine is running on the opposite wall inside the house. Drives the wife crazy. LOL.

Great video I don't understand that why filters last longer with faster flow verses slower flow. And you would think slower flow would get more bad stuff out of water than faster flow. I never thought alot about more flow in my RODI. I'm going to get me flow meter and check mine out too. We have really good water pressure but maybe not enough thanks again for sharing.
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 4 года назад
I think it’s more pressure is able to get more use out of them? Maybe handle clogging ? Random guess

@@ReefDudes RO Membranes are more effective at removing contaminants at higher PSIs. This means your DI resin has less TDS to process which will prolong their life.

So is it best to run the booster before the membrane or after the filter to the membrane
@ReefDudes

Prior to the ro unit but I suppose if you have really dirty water it may not hurt to save sediment filter before the booster

Deven are you using Dual RO membranes to reduce the waste even further, possibly the best £30 I ever spent on my RO system.

Did you have to adjust the booster pump at all? I had purchased one from AquaFX on eBay and I just could NOT get it dialed in. My PSI got over 110 and the whole pump and RODI unit just vibrated out of control. I feel like i am missing something but there’s not too many videos out there that aren’t either over two mins or under like 6 years old. Should I try this again?
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 3 года назад
I didn’t have to adjust it as it worked right out of the box for me. Try putting a silicone pot matt under it to absorb the vibration

I just added the auto flush to my setup and I’m noticing it’s a lot louder than what it was with the manual flush when running/not flushing the membranes. Is that normal? (Im assuming when it goes quite and the pressure gage reduces that’s when you know it’s auto flushing?)
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 3 года назад
Mine is louder as well .. but i also added a booster pump at the same time so its prob a blend of it all.
@MoreTankMoreProblems
@MoreTankMoreProblems 3 года назад
ReefDudes I also have the booster pump, added that first then was like might as well get the auto flush... but even with the booster off the system as a whole runs atleast twice as loud. Lol

So I’m OK I don’t need a booster pump? I have a 6 stage RODI 200g a day. New my psi was 72, currently my PSI is about 67.
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 4 года назад
At 67-70 I would say you are good without one. With one it I’ll bump you to 90-100. So would make water faster and in theory be more efficient but I wouldn’t say you “need” one

Hi I installed mine too but I have a question I noticed that the booster pump stay vibrating all the time is that supposed to be like that all the time or it supposed to turn the vibration off ??? I’m confused 🤷‍♂️
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 3 года назад
IT should only be "vibrating" when its pumping water. If you have an automatic shutoff.. it should detect back pressure and turn its self off when you stop the output flow.
@MoreTankMoreProblems
@MoreTankMoreProblems 3 года назад
I too have the same issue. I’ve tested it about 10 different ways and the automatic shutoff switch will not stop the pump. (I think I got a bad one) so I’ll have to have BRS replace.

Moore Tank More Problems I believe there is a little screw on it to adjust the sensitivity. Also make sure it’s wired inline with the pump
