I like the version of this song with John Paul White and Roseanne Cash much better. If you haven't heard it, it's worth a listen; it's on youtube. Also imho, Roseanne is a legend already.

@@EchosLens The "official" video you allude to is wonderful, but the eTown crew makes this version equally (or nearly so) outstanding. Great songs make it possible for multiple wonderful versions, and this is one such song.

Have you figured it out yet? I just heard this on the radio for the first time today. Got a friend on his last legs and this song hit home. He's a harmonica player. On the recorded version the harmonica part would be perfect of him.

@@@rschmot -- the harmonica part in the version with Rosanne Cash and John Paul White is really great too, plus it's got the singer/songwriter (and player of Martin guitars)/goddess in the personage of Johnny Cash's daughter(!) who the song is about, in part. If you like this song, you've got to hear that version as well, it's great!
