@@2008israelramos Seriously? Much wasn't mentioned at all. It was written and produced as SA's special secret - keeping the soul of the dead man alive through his music mythology. Nothing about his tours of Australia & NZ, the sale of his LPs in Aust & NZ, the use of an Australian record label. The live LP recorded in Australia. All of that while SA seemed to believe he was dead. The money from sales that went to him instead of disappearing somewhere in SA - the dropping, unexplained, of the search for the money, the fact that SA wasn't the sole place that knew of him. Just a few things.

I hear ya! I just watched the movie and it really touched my heart and I'm just so glad that he got the recognition eventually that he deserved so we shouldn't be sad but be happy for his life because God always gives back and it's so much more generous to good people then we can ever be to him. Yes bad things happen to good people sometimes but that's not God's fault the scriptures show that sometimes we're just in the wrong place at the wrong time or we reap what we sow.

I just watched the documentary and have now fallen into a Rodríguez hole, trying to discover as much as possible about this man and watch his live concerts on RU-vid. I’m as amazed as his personality and character, as much as his story. It’s incredible to see how humble and human he is, completely uncharacteristic of legendary artists. He is shy and not at all comfortable in the limelight, but yet when he starts playing and singing, you see the mind behind the man, and it’s beautiful. He expresses himself completely through his music, and I’m so glad that he was found again and able to do this at least later in life. His is both a sad and happy story, and we have become better for knowing it and being able to hear this legend play.

Showing his age and ailments but at 76 in this clip, he still performing well for his age. Particularly considering his past working life considering much of was manual labor jobs over the years all accolades to him. The amount of youth there to see him is also a testament to him and his music, it shows that sometimes simplicity is more enduring than the complex, the great of the fanciful.

Old Soul this is like déjà vu for Detroit. Tommy James had no idea he was a hit in Pittsburgh and when he went there to check it out he didn’t even have a band anymore. He needed one right away and heard a band playing somewhere around his hotel and just like they became the Shondell’s. Australia and South Africa were just too far away for something like that to happen to Rodrigues I guess. The story of both of these artist can only happen in rock ‘n’ roll.

Apart from Sixto's soulful artistry, his lead guitarist and the backing group generally are a tight and talented band. Backing and supporting Sixto very flexibly even when he lost the thread, and all the while enhancing his performance brilliantly, and never overshadowing the old maestro. A wonderful performance. Thank you so much for uploading this.

My cousin handed me a copy of Cold Fact, out of the blue, at breakfast a few weeks ago, and told me I should watch SFSM if I haven't already. I hadn't. Now I have. Some things just go straight to the heart and take residence. This man and this story are two of those things. THEN...I discover the fate of Malik Bendjoloull and am reminded of the true meaning of pathos. Between all of the elements involved here and the sum of the history, I sit stunned as I watch this wonderful concert.
