Congratulations on your CDL! I always try to remember that in this universe nothing moves without the hand of God. And God knew what you’re gonna be since before you were born. Blessings for you and you family! Be safe on the road!
Thank you very much 🙏 it’s a huge feeling of relief and accomplishment at the same time, in my opinion. I appreciate it’s the comment very much. Merry Christmas and God bless!
I knew you’d do it, congrats. One tip I can say is pay close attention to the street signs. Especially in the city I read them all. Because of bridge restrictions and road restrictions. You have to think most of the signs in the road are designed for trucks especially the speed limits around curves and bridge heights. Good job bro!!
Thank you very much, Jordan 🙏 I am very happy to have the test over with at this point. Tomorrow is our last day and it’s just a half day. I definitely need to pay better attention to the signs myself. I missed two of them when he asked me on my CDL test. Like you said, that’s definitely very important information for truckers! Be safe out there and I hope you have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
Congratulations Dillon!… This is great. Your hard work is paying off. You’re on your way now. Enjoy your home time with the family & have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you very much, Mike 🙏 I am very excited about the journey from here on. I am looking forward to getting home Saturday night and seeing my family for sure! I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas as well and I appreciate your support a lot my friend! Keep up the great work with your videos as well. I’m looking forward to watching your new one this evening 👍
Thank you very much, Brett 🙏 I am very thankful to have passed! Now I’ll be glad to get to head home tomorrow. I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
Thank you very much, Anthony 🙏 I am definitely excited about the journey and seeing how the first year goes! I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
Thank you very much, Rick 🙏 I appreciate the support a lot my friend. I look forward to seeing where the journey goes from here. I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
I've seen your video footage and the way that God still keep you alive when you and me, but let you know that God is the key of life. Keep on doing what you doing to God will bless you and see you more and making more for you. Cause you put God first. I'd like about that with a truck driver and I'm also a truck driver myself. And just started with Roehl
Thank you very much for the kind words 🙏 I appreciate that a lot! I wish you the best with trucking and be safe out there. As you said, if you put God first, all things will work together for your good! God bless you, my friend 🙏
I’m trying to go up to training in Gary in April. I’ve felt pretty confident about it and I’ve watched plenty of videos from other trainees and honestly man, you’re the first person that’s posted videos that has made me nervous about the whole program. Wish me luck bro lol.
I wish you the best with it 👍 nervous may be a good thing, to an extent. Out of my group of 8, only 3 of us passed. The pretrip is the main thing to really study. When you’re at the hotel in your spare time. Things come at you quick there and they expect you to know them! When they say accelerated, they aren’t kidding haha. But if you study the pretrip, ALOT, and just pay attention, ask questions and work on your driving, you should do fine 👍 God bless
Thank you for your response, sir. As I do with everything in my life, I will give my all to succeed. My wife and 3 daughters here in Cincinnati depend on it. Failure is not an option. My back is to the wall and forward is the only way to go. I’ll let you know WHEN I pass. Respect 🫡.
Thank you. Glad that you made it through. Also I love that you're a believer. God first mentality and you can't go wrong. Just passed my CDL class A permit test. Going to Premier this Monday and failure is not an option. God bless.
Welcome to the family I know exactly what your talking about when your talking about the pressure cause they diff full court press from start to finish but you’ll be good I got my cdl from there a week ago
Thank you very much for the kind words 🙏 I was very nervous a lot of the time because of how much it was to learn in so short a time. But it was definitely worth it! I wish you the best, Merry Christmas and God bless!
just 3 weeks, Got me worried other places do 4-6 but you gotta pay them a whole lot of what i'm trying to get by signing up for the job, maybe if I fail I could then try again at a school. I love driving and feel I could totally learn to drive but the book smarts and remembering is what got me in worries if I know how to drive, inspect but not remember word for word I'm gonna be so pissed.
The Pretrip was the hardest part, in my opinion. But as long as you study well and pay attention, I believe you can do it. It’s a very rewarding feeling when you get your Cdl. I wish you the best with it! God bless
If you fail, do you still have to pay them the money for the training? I’m speaking with a recruiter tomorrow about the GYCDL program. Congrats on your new career!
Thank you very much 🙏 from what I understand, you still have to pay them if you fail because of the hotel, food, and instructors that they provide. I wish you the best with it and as long as you are willing to study and you really want it, I believe you will do fine 👍
Yeah, I went there. Failed because Of my pre-trip, I knew all the parts and knew what to say. It just didn't come out the way it was supposed to Verbage was part of the reason.. But I will say It depends on who's training you. Because when I was there, people that had problems with backing? They had enough time to gather the people together. It's like five or six people that were there and from the Is the ones that were Not so good. By the end of the day you couldn't tell who was. Not Good Because by that point they all were hitting all Backing with no problem.. So, so it's really hard. I will say this when you're doing it by yourself Having somebody there that help you like. Your teammates would be ideal. Because then you can catch what you missed and get that in your head faster. So when you are presented that opportunity to take the test, you could be confident in knowing what you're doing and getting Verbage, right, and all that wants you accomplish that. Everything else is good once you've got your classes out of the way.. But for some reason I had an issue with trying. Also to get started because everybody got there. Scan cards. And they said that you can practice on the trucks in the yard, but you can't move The truck in the yard you can only practice. So when people came over and said they were going back over to the school. I didn't have the opportunity to go because I didn't have a scan card to enter the gate so I can physically put my hand on each component of the truck that was being asked, On that Pre trip Paper. Kind of suck that? I was the only one there both of my Quit because they couldn't get the Pre trip. So that's why they left.
It wasn't too bad. You just have to make sure you study well and pay attention while you are there. It's an accelerated program, so it goes fast. The pretrip is one of the main things. I stayed late sometimes to study it and studied at the hotel too. I wish you the best with it 👍
The pay depends on the company that you go with. For Roehl, it is $616 a week while you do their 3 week training program. They also pay for your hotel and breakfast and lunch for that 3 weeks if you don’t live in the area. Then you go on the road with a trainer for around 3 weeks. I believe the pay is similar for that time as well. You can go here www.roehl.jobs to apply. There are many other trucking companies as well that offer paid CDL training. I would do your research on whatever company you choose 👍
@@bluegrassoutdoors I'm very excited to start, I'm very nervous about the driving part. Do they actually spend time teaching you the driving part as well?
@@joeymcfarland1818 I wish you the best with it and if there's anything I can do to help I'll do my best. Keep us updated if you don't mind. God bless 🙏
Congratulations Dillon I knew you'd get it brother. I strongly agree with @jordans201 about street signs . Especially bridge height and city restrictions. Like where I am here there are bridges here that are 12'4 and lower . Truckers get struck all the time cause they are not paying attention to the signs. Maybe get you a trucker's GPS . Very happy for and your family brother 🫵👍
Thank you very much, Kevin 🙏 that part worries me a lot. He had told me that his gps had led him into a residential neighborhood the other day as well in California. I’m hoping to avoid situations like that as much as possible! I am looking forward to the journey very much though! I appreciate the support a lot and I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
So what was expected of you before day 1? You have to get your dot medical card and take the cpl test right? Sorry if the question is stupid i want to be squared away, filled my app out friday.
@@aheis1313 Its a good question. yeah, get your clp(make sure you do air brakes, combination vehicles and general knowledge) and your dot physical and then speak with a recruiter. If you applied already, I'm not sure you will have to speak to a recruiter still.
So I understand that you’re proud of your family but I would recommend not posting your kids on social media. There’s some real sickos out there. Not telling you how to freedom, you do you but from one dad to another you gotta be careful
There are some wicked people out there, that's for sure. But I don't plan to let them take my freedom. I monitor what is said pretty close and block people when they day things I don't like. It's a shame, but you're right. There are a lot of wicked people in the world.
@@bluegrassoutdoors off topic but I’ve been watching quite a few of your videos and it’s got me considering getting my cdl through roehl again and I was curious about your overall experience with them. I gotta say I really like your positive attitude and how you carry yourself, keep up the good work. I’m a divorced dad and medically retired veteran and I would love a rewarding career where I can earn money and be comfortable while having the ability to spend time with my kids. How easy is it to get a schedule that fits your life?
@Blacksheep40actual hello, sir! I appreciate the kind words a lot 🙏 Roehl was a good company to me, overall. I was regional, so I got 48 hours off and worked 5 days. I do believe they have local jobs as well, I certain areas, where you are home daily. But it may take being with them for a while to attain a local job. You can become a trainer or an owner operator there after only 6 months as well, and that increases your pay a lot. Maverick is another company that offers a gycdl program like roehl, and they seek to pay better, from what I understand I'm not positive about their off time, though. I wish you the best with it, and I definitely believe that trucking is a great career that opens up many good opportunities 👍
