I’m 18 and about to apply to Roehl because they are doing the safe driver apprenticeship program for 18 year olds to drive over state lines. This has been my dream for years so excited to finally join the industry!
I love these videos!! Your looking healthier too!! Keep it up because I know life on the road can get tough. Save all your money so you can retire early bro or do this for 10 - 15 years and than drive smaller dump trucks that are easier and your still making bank. Good luck
Glad you noticed! Been trying to stick with healthier eating. RE is the plan for sure. I wanna put in a good 4 years of trucking and then work on some other plans I have.
Make sure to keep this routine on point! I know a lot of truckers (I work for the Target warehouse and deal with live drop off drivers), who would have a good routing every day, get their exercise and such and just got lazy over the years. Good luck on being a trucker! Please be safe out there.
Which target? We go to target warehouses... It's really all discipline, but I can see how it's easy to get lazy. And I only plan on trucking for like 2-4 years
I did the Roehl training route and it worked out great for me. I'm driving for Jb hunt dedicated now but the red Roehl truck stood out brighter. I miss that red Freightshaker. good video. Thanks. -Rick
There's nothing wrong with getting out and looking, or pulling up to make corrections. As long as it gets in there right? Haha. But I appreciate the content man. Your videos have helped me so much on my K20 rebuild. Thank you so much! Keep her shiny side up brotha!
Hey look! A tire kicker, where is the tire thumper. Lol. My old instructor used to call us that. You are doing great and teaching everyone the proper way. Keep it up 👍🏼
Not knowing anything about this... before you leave on your trip do you check weather / road conditions and have to change on the fly sometimes on the trip? Maybe not so much applicable to Summer months regarding weather, but maybe more so in the early Winter / Fall? Nice size fridge and small stove top.
That would be the blue ridge mountains my man I live about 30 minutes south of there in broadway. Next time your around I’ll bring my 9th gen out for you!
Hate the thing about being otr. When you can’t personal conveyance unless you run out of time at a shipper/co-signee. So you have to go to the nearest place they tell you to and chances are pay for parking and have not many food options.
@@TheGerbsteve you mean entirely? or just the OTR trucking? I'd be fine with OTR for a year or 2 to get some experience, than go more local, so I can either be home very night or every couple of days.
Thank you for all of your videos, I am thinking of getting my CDL and trying decide between going to Roehl or Prime Inc. I hear Roehl has a better home time policy and more regional/dedicated routes than Prime Inc, so I'm leaning more towards Roehl. Are you OTR or Regional and how is your home time? Also, how was your time with your trainer, do you feel that it was enough time? I know Prime Inc requires 50,000 miles with a trainer.
I’m Regional, so I stay on east coast. Home time is a 1.5 days off every week. I was out with my trainer for a month, that was plenty of time. If that’s true with prime, I hope you have a good trainer because that’s A LOT of miles.
Stack paper man - life is simple on the road Practice your S turns so you can backup with the drivers side mirror - as long as you line up the drivers side of the can you can always pull forward to get the can straight. After that just back it up straight. Blindsiding is cool but takes more practice - S turns are quick and easy as hell
@@leaveamark9498 we out in sebring. Maybe we can set something up for fun. Got some pretty fast cars out here. Mine is all motor k24a full bolt on. But we got faster out here if you wanna come ride
During training, yes, For like 4 weeks. It’s not bad, just make sure you get a good trainer! Once you get into your own rig, you will have all the peace 🤙🏼
@@avalentin763 Solid, but I feel like it would get exhausting right? Don’t get me wrong every job can be exhausting but I feel like being alone that much could drive a sane man crazy
@@sesh3508 if you have a Family is a big sacrifice to make the first couple years. Just going home once or twice a month. Well for me it was easy i did 48states but no touch Freight Leaving a trailer and grabbing another one. But yeah Leaving in a truck for 21 to 25 days in a month it kinda get exhausting and irritating.
A little late but is Roehl a company worth working for? I’m getting my cdl at the end of February and have been trying to really look into companies to start out in but I love hearing from people who already work there
DO NOT KICK TIRES WITH CROCS. Seriously, get a thumper, or what I have, a 2.5lb sledge. A BFH solves MANY problems, plus they're a perfect tire tester. NOT CROCS. At least use boots if you're going to kick tires.
Vegan sausage patties? Healthier? Eat some beef. Most nutrient dense food. Your brain will feel it. More stamina. And eat that sausage too. Lose the carbs.
