Along with the 12 songs are 5 original demos of: "Watching You, I'm Coming to the Best Part of my Life, I'm Gonna Find Her, Always You and You're Foolin' Nobody". The album was produced by the three members and recorded in Oregon(where Roger Nichols currently lives) and Hollywood."

Today may be sorrow but, come tomorrow, there will still be this song. There's always this song. Thank God for this song! In any version but especially the Sundowners version.

The female singer has this unique soft feminine voice that just stands out & says "hear my soft & gentle girl voice" & the synthisizer in the beginning!!!!!! This was the very early days of the modern day keyboard synthisizer we have now today! & the subtle violins at the end !!!!!!

Okay, so it seems there's at least 3 versions of this song. Roger Nichols originally wrote this song, which he did with his band 'Roger Nichols & the Small Circle of Friends'. Even though Roger Nichols wrote it, I'm not sure if his band did it first. He may have first given it to The Sundowners who did (in my opinion) the best version in 1967, and is my all-time favourite song due to the amazing orchestration and emotion in it. Another version, by The American Breed, is pretty weak compared to The Sundowners' version, but it's no slouch. There's just not much feeling in it, at least not to me anyway. Oh, and this version is probably just a little better than The American Breed's, but nothing tops The Sundowners' epic recording. Everyone talks about The Beach Boys' 'God Only Knows', which by the way is undoubtedly an amazing song, as being the all-time greatest 60's love song. I don't mind that statement too much, but the lyrics in Always You hold a special place in my heart - the mere line "Thank God for you" is like the most feeling thing you could say to someone. Pure magic.

Roger Nichols was kind of in & out of the music scene over a number of years according to something I read on Rhapsody music I had online some years back.

Yeah, his discography shows it. It's quite empty and sporadic in places, which is a shame considering the quality of the songs he played a part in producing. I do know that Roger and the Small Circle of Friends have done reunions and stuff in more recent times, releasing songs like 'Show Your Love', which seem to have a big following in Japan.

The Sundowners version was the first version i heard a few years ago... and still remains the best song i have never heard outside of youtube!! Absolute masterpiece!!
