I love this man, he's so poised and proper, yet the flinty old cynic deep inside. Queen were and are my first favorite band and I've always adored Roger's tunes along the way. "Have my eggs poached for breakfast, I guess"
Roger, Brian, John and FREDDIE, thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. The four of you have produced the soundtrack to my life for the past 46 years. I honestly have not gone a day in all these years w/o listening to Queen. Bless you all. Stay safe, be well and please keep it going. Freddie, please hear my words: Eternal peace and love. Roger, thank you for the new LP. It's fabulous!!
@@ronkrill1 Well, each fan has their best ... but, I recognize the talent of the other drummers, for example: another great drummer, it was John Bonham from Led Zeppelin, only in this case, as Roger is my favorite, that's why I said that. What I mean is that all drummers are talented in their own way
Freddie, in spirit form, is probably still hanging around the band, because they always mention him in interviews about missing him. They do credit Adam Lambert, but they'll never forget their old buddy Freddie. They all have great voices and musical talent, but Freddie's voice was out of this world!
I also think Freddie is always somewhere around... Roger and Brian have said many times that they sense his presence and almost know what he would say about things they are doing... ❤
I saw him in a car park in 1988 at Wembley Stadium bollocking his chauffeur be cause he couldn’t make his car fly over the queue trying to get out. Quite nasty
Roger's looking and sounding really good. Amazon emailed the news my "Outsider" cd is being delivered tomorrow. I'm certain "We're All Just Trying To Get By" will be on repeat longer than others want! It is absolutely lovely!
Roger didn't hesitate to mention George Michael as someone they would have liked to have done more with. What a shame they didn't as the songs they did at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert with George were outstanding.
@@rogertaylor3499 I can barely believe it to get a personal message from a worldstar like you. It was really special for me. I've been very very happy about it. My daughter Sophia is like me a huge fan of yours. She will be amazed when i tell her about this luck. Sophia likes to draw and has already painted a lot of pictures of you and your bandmates. Lovely greetings from Sabine and thank you for taking the time to write me. 😊
What a gentleman. I have always been an aspiring drummer in the influence of Roger. He never stops to amaze me. Now I've Brexited to Canada, I hope I can get to see Queen tour North America when permissible. God bless.
It’s hard for me to fathom that as a 13 or 14 year old kid I would spend hours and hours behind my drumset learning all his fills and at one time I could play the entire “Live Killers” album front to back…..I bet my neighbors got tired of hearing me pound out “I’m in love with my car” to then transition into “Get down make love”
@@midnightrose2127 Also, it's not that they're doing a European tour, it's that they're finishing their world tour which was supposed to end in Europe.
You know the time is really hard when a multimillionaire rock drummer of all time legendary rock band sings about he's just trying to get by and just to survive.
Not sure why he'd want to cover Abba material when he was part of the greatest band of all time. Yes Björn and Benny wrote great stuff but different to Queen. Maybe Agnetha and Anni Frid could sing ' Now I'm Here' ?
@@peterkin1010 He does David Bowie covers and Queen used to cover Led Zeppelin. So why not? Although, I understand it's far-fetched...but it's just fun to think about. That would be cool too, Now I'm Here or Good old fashioned lover boy.
Interesting interview for me as a old Queen fan Roger says we thought we were an Album band I own every Queen studio Album they put out and there were singles released from all of them except possibly Queen 2 Also like many many other bands there was plenty of in band fighting about whos songs would be released as SINGLES No point in being dishonest did you say Roger
@@vagabond197979 Precisely. i caught Roger's meaning plainly. In the seventies, certainly, Queen were heavily focused on producing coherent, consistent albums. Let's be simple and literal.
At 11:27 Roger states he may have a sausage with breakfast & interviewer Dan Walker says, "Go on, push the boat out!" Wow, that was an inappropriate response at Roger. Clever British sayings are wonderful, but Dan definitely used the wrong "expression" this time,
The song & album are dreadful. I'm a fan. From Camber Sands to Ainsdale conventions, the Marquee & Gosport, I've followed Roger but can he sit back & think that he's gone from some incredible songs that he's written.......to this? It's no Mad Bad & Dangerous to Know & certainly no Strange Frontier. Retire like Deaky & enjoy your legacy & boy, have you left one.
@@theaterpup1442 that’s a non-argument. So I have to go into a studio to write a less cheesy song in order to have a valid opinion on any song? Pfff. Nonsense
Roger is just a money-hungry traitor. He was an excellent drummer in the real Queen. Brian and Roger sold out the legacy of the real queen and Freddie Mercury.
