Queen, the band who's lead singer was a rock god, the drummer is a better singer then most lead vocalist, the bass player looks like our dad's and the lead guitar player is an astrophysicist.
ThatKidWhoLiesAboutHisAge OnTheInternet Yep. With a guitar you (sometimes) have to continuously watch yourself play so can play the right notes and chords. With drums, you only occasionally have to look down. Drums are so big so you can see what you’re doing out of the corner of you’re eye.
I can just compare Taylor's voice with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, both sang in high pitches and have a rusty tone to it. His voice fits Stairway to Heaven very well. But this just shows how talented Queen is, even it's drummer can match the voice of another legendary rock frontman.
medicineman360 - absolutely. I rate Graham Nash and Paul McCartney as the the best harmony singers in rick history. However, Roger Taylor is easily the most underrated harmony vocalist in rock history.
@Clorox Stain Remover and Color Booster Yeah. Somehow I went from a teenager to almost 60 years old. I'm happy that he still HAS hair. And I still want to touch it! LOL
(Originales)
Everything there is to say about Freddie, it has already been said. But Roger really deserves us to stop and appreciate what a magnificent performer AND songwriter he is. In terms of live performances, you guys should check Rock it (Prime Jive), where Freddie takes the lead vocals but Roger still sings the backing vocals. That's nothing short of AMAZING, how well he sings that WHILE he's playing the drums. To me, Roger Taylor is up there with the greatest rock musicians of all time.
The incomparable Roger Taylor! A complete beast on drums and vocals, and so gorgeous. He's so soft spoken then just blows you away with that raw, raspy voice. Such a legend!! ❤️👑🥁🎤
I wish they had given Roger more singing exposure cos damn his voice is so husky and rusty and sexy!!!! I love you Rogerrrr!!! 😍 Edit: wow thankyou for the likes! Please check my youtube channel out. Im a singer too❤️
A few Roger lead vocal songs: I'm In Love With My Car (biggest hit), Tenement Funster (my favorite), Sheer Heart Attack, Fight From The Inside, More Of That Jazz,.
This whole video is just beautiful. I was already shook with Freddie’s vocals in the beginning and then Roger just slid in there with those and I am quaking holy wow.
I think the great thing about Roger being the backing vocal is that he and Freddie inspire each other. especially Freddie being the one who's great at improvising Roger's high tones just brings it to a whole new level of harmony and make the music a piece of an art.
he literally has such a duality to his voice and personality because he can always seem like that man that you wouldn’t wanna mess with on stage and with those roughy vocals of his he really seems so serious and off stage he’s just a soft guy with a soft voice
The band of misfits: a boxer/artist, an astrophysicist, an almost dentist, and an electrical engineer who form a band. This actually sounds like a great sitcom. I’m so glad Roger didn’t go over to Genesis when they wanted him. Love how Freddie shows off his boxing moves at the end
Roger's voice... always made him sound like an old school rocker.. if you hear him sing on his own before seeing who it is, you'd picture an older man most likely and not a guy fresh out of college or however old he is here (like what? Mid 30s maybe?). Now that hes older, he looks like the type of man who would have the singing voice he does. What an exquisite man and such an underrated voice in rock.
And Rod Stewart's voice is like Frankie Miller's. He was on his way of becoming famous way before Rod Stewart but while recording his album in New York, he suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and lost his ability to speak hence to sing. -_- Very tragic story. Watch "Frankie Miller stubborn kinda fella" here on yt.
I always get chills when he starts to sing playing the drums so effortlessly while giving those great raspy backing vocals with so much feeling and power
Just tell me one thing this Band didn't nail perfectly. 3 Good singers, each one in a different tune, one of them on god Level A guy that plays the Guitar like he was born to do it Roger and John being one of the best rythm sections in Rock history A frontman which is energy in its purest form Damn good Songs on a high musical level ,with harmonys over and over, some of them for sure still being played 100 years after their release
I think the reason why their voices matched and blends so well was Brian has this soft, gentle but powerful voice. Roger has a husky and can sing higher range. Freddie has wholesome, unique voice. They balanced each other... Love their vocals so much.
I’ve seen people not familiar with Queen thinking the harmonies are backing tracks then they see Roger belting it out and can’t believe it .Listen to what he does on I’m In Love With My Car too.
