he was the dancer with the sexy legs of the group. john legs has the best muscular tone because freddie was slender. jim said freddie was very slender & before freddie he liked beefy men..brian legs look like stilts.john looks great in shorts. i watch freddie & john with out them it just is not queen. i heard brian say they were not going to write any new songs. what? just keep playing the old songs? can they not write any new songs? i always had the feeling freddie teaked most of their songs & something i read in google said more or less that it is true.
@@MrUsermister Brian and Rogers egos would have you believe, it was their talents that made Queen..Your financials may say it, but without Freddie and John..Your just to guys cashing in on the only band named QUEEN, which ended with absence of John and Freddie..My God, what HUGE EGOS they have, and when you start making snide remarks about an original member, is beyond disgust, especially when you both have had your share of crap going on in your own life...Your NOT Queen....
@@mariaignagni2860 I agree. What they call Queen +AL isn't even half of Queen. It's 2 drummers, 4 guitars, back up singers, 2 piano players, a synth player etc. Brian is the one with the massive ego. As the decades have gone by his stories have all changed. I saw Queen live. It can't ever happen again without John and Freddie!!
@@tsukigalleta nope, although he mostly played with fingers, it depended on the song, and actually used picks for lots of songs when it suited them, Under Pressure being a prime example.
So great to have this visual perspective of John. 99% of Queen videos highlight Freddie with only quick cuts to the rest of the band so it's awesome to see John's complete contribution to a performance.
Ever notice Deaky never smiles during a performance? During interviews, he has the gentlest smile - the kind that warms the heart and soul. Nice guy....
I love the way they each just wore what they wanted at each concert, shorts, bare feet, no shirt (Roger), glammed up, royalty digs, whatever. It was all good.
Just imagine: on any normal-sized club stage, with another band of amateur dudes, Deacy would be regarded as a total mover and rocker - but in this band HE is the quiet one.
Juliet Lambert , very true. I would HAVE to be drinking to get in front of crowds that big. I would be surprised if they DIDN'T down a few before, during, and after. LOL
Han Drayss, oooooh ja, John has the most powerful, beautiful, expressive hands - I only saw Queen live one time and was just mesmerised watching him and Freddie... Check out the live concerts from the rainbow (1974) and Odeon (1975) if you haven't already seen them - at 'the rainbow' John gets a lot more camera time than in many other concerts (partly because he is so close to Freddie on piano, and maybe this particular camera-person/editor was a bit more balanced/intelligent!). The closing rock medley at the Odeon 1975 John is fking savage improvising and soloing on the bass, it is towards the end of jailhouse rock - the camera lingers on John's hands and it is just wild, so beautiful.
John Deacon is an AMAZING bass player....he makes it look so easy..John, I hope you’re keeping well🌺....Freddie shouting at John “Go Johnny go”...from the Chuck Berry song “Johnny B.Goode”..as an appreciation of John’s bass playing...and for good measure, Freddie singing “Down in the city just Hoople and me”...a reference to the time they supported Mott the Hoople on the bill in New York🤩
This is SOOO good for so many reasons! One reason being that when you take the focus off the "lead" guys - the singer and guitar player - you suddenly feel how "solid" the song is from the rhythm section's point of view. Any song can feel like there are so many parts all flurrying in different directions, but seeing this makes you realize how simple and structured a good song has to be at its base. No tooling around like assholes or gloryhunters - Taylor and Deacy just lay down a SOLID bedrock that makes it *possible* for the other two guys to flurry around and hog the stardom!
This is the best of Queen.. The fucking Balls out , ROCKING till your pants drop..The most underrated Bass player of all time.. He was the driving force behind every song they ever recorded..I love Freddie, but Deacon, May and Taylor were extremely talented musicians. The best live band ever..
@@Vinguy11 Yes😉. Best live band I've ever seen. Not arrogant all all. 4 beautiful men. Mind-blowing show. I can name several famous bands where I wanted my money back.... Queen were always sensational.
Jon Dunmore - The way I look at the bass and drums is that they are the canvas that allows the "lead" instruments to paint their picture. Without a great rhythm section any band stinks no matter how good the show offs are. Taylor was steady. Deacon was a master. They were always lock step. His most catchy riffs are often very simple but real ear worms! Others are complex as hell. The point is, the bass anchors the band and he knew exactly what to play to make each song shine. When I watch any of their videos, I look for Deaky to see what he is doing. He's all business and often in his own little world but can't keep still. He really FEELS the music. He wants to be good, not a show off.
One of the reason Freddie liked johnny was that he didn't try to overshadow him, like other bassists did, during auditions and early gigs. He clearly understimated the power of disco deaky!!!
Phenomenal musician. Have the utmost respect for this guy. When FM died he knew that was it and so quietly slipped off. Never been tempted back. JD has an amense degree of dignity. Sadly missed but well deserved retirement
Ну наконец-то и я увидела Джона в работе от начала песни и до конца. А то секундными эпизодиками вставляли его в видео. Я уж думала, что никто так и не заснял Дикона для истории. Отличное видео! Люблю и уважаю этого скромнягу.
Wow just priceless to see Deaky and Roger and what they bring to this song and actually all of their songs. Because all four were great musicians is why they were and still are the greatest Rock band of all time . ❤
First of all Deaky can pull of short shorts better than me. Second of all Deaky has better legs than me. Lastly Deaky can dance better than me. I am jealous especially since I am a girl.
I love our John Deacon.. loved looking at at him bouncing around in his shorts.. There was time when he would look like he was going to fall but he kept in" Rockin"..,He was a little doll...
Aug. 19th 2019...Happy Birthday to everyone's favorite dancing Queen, John Deacon! Watching you dance around with your bass makes me happy and inspires me to open the video full screen on one of my monitors, crank up the volume, and get the heck out of my computer chair and dance along with you!! I hope you are doing well and are enjoying your retirement and time with your family. Thank you so much for helping to create all the wonderful music that millions of people all over the planet still enjoy today! Wishing you a happy and healthy year ahead! We love you and miss you, Deaky!
