I noticed the way you were looking at Roger the moment he showed up - with attention, admiration and love. It is a result of falling in love with Queen music through so many reactions you've done so far..It's been an evolution, developing feelings from music for those 4 people so, whenever at least one of them is on the screen - instant tenderness is there. It's touching to see that and very relatable for any True lover of their musical magic.

You could just feel that Roger was still heartbroken from knowing he can never again perform with his friend Freddie!!💔💔💔

Roger was always very musically & spiritually connected to people like Mandela too, even wrote a song for him. Perhaps it's those kind of thoughts he uses to express his feelings. Roger was always verbal about cultural injustices & some times political issues. . Then also the trouble they dealt with years prior when they were criticized about ignoring apartheid where they performed one of their concerts, which was not at all the case. Roger also wrote that song about AIDS & "cocktails for life that they can't afford", protesting the cost when AZT was 1st being used to delay the effects of AIDS. (Freddie was given it for quite a long time, but voluntary gave it up when he realized it was not working well enough to allow him to continue to perform, remember? Roger’s cartoon video showed one man with KS lesions, hugging another... it is heartbreaking 💔 ... Freddie's assistant & friend Peter said "when the 'performer' half of him could no longer be, which was THE reason he loved life, that's when, & why, he decided it was time to leave this world" ... not verbatim but almost. ) ROGER, even in the mid 1970s & 80s, wore tee shirts at live concerts that said anti-nuclear themes. He's a very socially introspective & a deep thinking individual who always speaks out about social injustice issues that need advocates. Brian always has in real life, but not in songs usually. They all were highly educated men who still to this day donate incredible amounts of $$$ to many good causes. The Mercury Phoenix Trust was originated by Roger & Manager Jim Beach who as of last week I believe I heard on the news, totals $30 million & still going. Yes, & Freddie's WILL has many annual arranged donations that still go out every year. These men were incredibly appreciative of their success & their wealth. Sorry if I went 'off on a tangent' too , HAP !

I know I have seen a video of Roger and Yoshiki. Not sure if it was this? Very interesting dynamic between the serious orchestra and Yoshiki. Roger's voice fit in very well with both.

I think it’s a amazing song written by 2 drummers. Yoshiki from a heavy metal band XJapan the other singer on stage is the lead singer. There is a video but I like the live better. Good reaction Hap as always, 🤘🏼

💙My heart hurts, hearing Roger singing so soulfully. Wow.😪 interesting that this was to be the first of seven annual concerts to have taken place, underwritten by UNESCO, to take place at some of the world's architectural wonders. Alas, they this was the first and only concert to happen. Hap, you gave quite a reaction and I loved your "tangent". Looking forward to whay is coming down the pipeline. Sounds quite interesting.🎶 Keep it coming! Peace J ✌ ☮ 💕

Thank you for your reaction. You are always so insightful. Yeah, Roger admits he is political (actually I think he is just a very intense & caring person) and as such a lot of his stuff had to be recorded outside of Queen. This video is very cool. The combo of a whole symphony, Yoshiki & Roger is pretty darned amazing.

Freddie and Yoshiki have so much in common that it is overwhelming.💫💫 I took a deep dive into Yoshiki's biographie and history, because there was "Something", that didn't let me rest. It was the fascination I so far experienced only with and for Freddie.- I had to come back and watch your reaction a second time. You already know: I value your opinion.☮Thank you!

Roger has recorded many versions of this song since then. The latest on his album Outsider, which came out last October. I think just about every other version is better than this. Roger himself didn’t like all the added orchestration and did a beautiful stripped down acoustic version on Outsider. Much better. This was more about Yoshiki getting to show off his musicianship.

Omg, love this touching singing of Roger. It’s so emotional. What a heartfelt performance. Just sitting there on this stool and effortlessly soothing along, accompanied by this string instruments, Yoshiki on Piano and the drums. Everything together, not to complicated, but very special - yeah🥰. And I can’t help either, when Roger or even Brian performs such kind of songs I’m always thinking about our dear Freddie too🥰. And why not, when it helps to go through this grieving process. How difficult must it have been for them when even we have still this kind of thoughts till today? And I love your connections 👍. Btw., how about Foreigner „Urgent“ and „Jukebox Hero“🤩, some of my favourites 😉. Thanks for this heartfelt reaction and your „tangents“ 🥰🙋🏻‍♀️

I forgot to mention your astute remark about Roger using music for a way to share his feelings mourning his friend Freddie & that 'all but one' also did, alluding to John Deacon's retirement & keeping silent. IMHO tho HAP, as I took another long, thoughtful listen to it. ... perhaps John spoke louder & stronger than anyone by leaving the band with the loving comment about his dear friend Freddie "There is no Queen without Freddie "... I think he spoke volumes with that statement & retiring. I am glad Roger & Brian are still performing live rather than sitting on a terrace of their homes in rocking chairs instead of "ROCKING AUDIENCES". They did it for years after they lost their friend. I cannot imagine what those first weeks then months were like for them. So quiet, so still without the daily flamboyance of Freddie to argue with over which songs would go on the album, what would be the B side, & all of the whirling dervish presence of Freddie suddenly just gone... think about trying to adapt to no Freddie! I CAN HARDLY DO IT !!! So John DID comment, he just did it in a typical John Deacon style. I often wonder if his children will present to the world after John's demise a priceless song or songs that John has written about his Dearest friend he ever had, waiting until his own death to avoid the press surrounding his home to get a story. I admit its just wishful thinking on my part but it could happen. Especially when a Parsee boy from Zanzibar named Farrouk 🤷 by pure chance moved to Feltham where Brian lived, who then advertised for a drummer for an interview who astounded Brian by 'tuning up his drum kit first which impressed Bri so much he hired him immediately, & then found a 19 yr old boy 👦 John who was looking to join a band so now & then he said " he could maybe play some local pubs on some weekends" with the guys. !!!! And now 50 years later we are here with our favorite musical commenter still talking about the GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER... so, my philosophy? NEVER SAY NEVER !
