Can y'all young against please stop calling talk box autotune?? They are two totally different things. Auto-Tune requires zero talent It's just a vocal processor that a child can sing into with no skill. Top box requires you to be able to play a keyboard or a guitar to be able to use it. With talkbox You are replacing your own vocals with the vocals of the keyboard or the guitar. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY EVERY SINGLE NOTE THAT YOU SING.
@@inspectorconscious2388 I think it was deeper than that. But it's def sad. I think even the bro regretted it so much so he ended his life. Such a tragedy. 😥
@@marquisemusings As far as I read his brother was his manager and killed him over disputed monies owed to him. But ofc it's tragic. I would have loved to hear what the music would have sounded like. Especially with how advanced it's becoming
@@inspectorconscious2388 aw man that’s so true…literally crying. I met their main sound guy last night and the look he gave me…tragic is the right word
No wonder they called Roger the king of the talkbox, this performance pure perfection. I remember being a junior in high school in 1987 when this timeless hit came out, Roger rest easy now brother you are looking at the face of Jesus now. We will see you very soon on that big stage in the sky RIP😢♥️🌹
The drummer on this live performance is today's R&B recording artist PleasureMore, I agree, this was one of the best bands Roger had at the time when he toured around the world.
I got to see Roger in 1995 in San Francisco...amazing show...they almost didn't let me and my buddy in cause we were underdressed...but my buddy was blind so the bouncer took pity on us...that was a hell of an experience...let me tell you!
RIP Roger Troutman and son (Both on the talkboxes) I don't need to go into a rant about people saying what Roger did was Autotune because It's Not and I guarantee the person who created the plugin, Roger Troutman was not a name that came to mind and as an alternative to talkbox/vocoder didn't either.
Legendary, especially this rendition. Still looking for a good quality video of the whole show. Unntil then, I'll come back to this one.. Thanks for putting it up!
A great song by a great performer, this song is one of the that got me into playing the keyboards and the talk box, Roger and his family gone way to soon, Rest In Peace Troutman family.
@@xxx_donvanvliet_xxx Thank you for the history lesson. I didn't know anything about Pete Drake but it's fact. I checked out his video called "Forever"
These celebrities are humans just like ud behind all that glitter and spotlight. So when they need their privacy, or if we see them behaving like us ie like humans, lets give them the room for that. They be dealing with messed up stuff just like us and worse enough having to do all that in front of a crowd.
It's not auto tune! Auto tune requires ZERO talent. He's playing the TALKBOX. You have to know his to play an instrument (keyboard or guitar) to use it. He's replacing his voice with the keyboard sound. He's playing every note that he's singing. You have to play effortlessly. real talent
Roger expressed his desire to work independently. Nothing justifies Larry's actions at all, but at the time they had fallen behind on finances for the second time that decade. So, Roger wanting to go a separate way was probably the straw the broke the camel's back for Larry. It's so fucked up, though, because it really could have been avoided. Roger didn't deserve that.
Steve F It’s a Talk Box. It’s like an effects pedal for your mouth. There are inputs and outputs on the box itself. One end connects to a keyboard or guitar, and the other end connects to the microphone. The plastic tube alters the natural sounds. Not to be confused with AutoTune, which does the work for you. You STILL need to sing and play in harmony
