This guy Mr Waters sat next to me on public transport many years ago such a humble person I am very honoured to have such a guy sit next to me knowing how talented and amazing he is .. Thank you Mr Waters A memory that stays in my mind always Caroline.
Indeed, as in The Final Cut etc. among many others. The thing that drives me wild is the bits of conversation in Us and Them, or the voices rendered so perfectly in quad on this tour at the intro to Great Gig. Priceless.
@@briancharles1141 why are so many Gilmour fans so insecure? Always gotta be comparing the two. I love Gilmour, but I love Roger as well. And the two together were a perfect storm of talent. Why Gilmour fans have to proclaim their favorite, or even put down Roger, baffles me
Last night, I was at this is not the drill tour. I was wondering how amazing a person can be. At the age of 80, breath to spread kindness and awareness. Fighting for humanity and rights. We should have more like Rogers. Watching him on the stage sending messages through music makes me decide to be a better human being. To stop being a viewer and start action.
Me also my friend. Watched Roger at the Glasgow Hydro in June 2023 and whall what an enlightening experience from tears to euphoria and nostalgia. It had everything in one amazing show. Absolute masterpiece of a show. I’m making this comment a few days after the Oasis comeback & the shambles that was ticketmaster ruining a bands comeback in one day of greed and madness with confusion. When I got tickets to see Roger at all his recent tours they sold out but I never had any trouble getting tickets no anxiety or any change of pricing while I sat patiently waiting to get tickets for a legendary artist who knows how to treat his fans and man can this man put on a show. Simply incredible. 🐷 🐑. ✌️
The dancer in rags is the last refugee of the world. She picks up the destiny and memory of all the children and those who died during the "crossing" of life and... she dances, because "the Beauty will save the world". Thank you for all Mr. Waters
This album will for me, be remembered as his masterpiece. Not over produced, it just sits. I love all his output, but I think this album will take people 10 years to understand it. That's the test of a great album.
The same thing for 40 years? The pros and cons, Radio Kaos, Amused to death, CA ira, Is this the life are completely different albums. CA ira is not even a rock Album but a classical music work.... So not, he has not been doing the same thing for 40 years.
I saw Waters play in Philly last week. A lot of people bought beer or went to the bathroom during this song. I thought it was powerful and very emotional. My favorite song on the album for sure. And the dancer is beautiful!
Lie with me now Under lemon tree skies Show me the shy, slow smile you keep hidden by warm brown eyes Catch the sweet hover of lips just barely apart And wonder at loves sweet ache And the wild beat of my heart Oh, rhapsody tearing me apart And I dreamed I was saying goodbye to my child She was taking a last look at the sea Wading through dreams, up to our knees in warm ocean swells While bathing belles, soft beneath Hard bitten shells punch their iPhones Erasing the numbers of redundant lovers And search the horizon And you'll find my child Down by the shore Digging around for a chain or a bone Searching the sand for a relic washed up by the sea The last refugee...
This song moves me in ways that I’m not sure any other song ever will be able to. Thank you Roger. I vividly remember listening to this the day after it came out. I was in San Francisco for the first time after leaving my home in Texas and I was honestly afraid of being so far away. I gave this song a listen on the balcony of the apartment I was in and was immediately humbled by this art piece. I could only imagine how these refugees must feel, how out of place they must feel.. how far home must feel. I cried for a good while that morning and my 19 year old perspective was forever changed. Art has a funny way of doing that to a person.
Whenever I see the Magnificence of Spanish Intelligence reflecting on matters that Really matter(Roger Waters perspectives as example...) I feel great sadness that the utter stupidity of bleak soul - less Politics imposes so many fraudulent barriers between the good folk of Europe Thus the shackles of that futile grotesquerie, self -styled,the European Union: entirely an example of the Problem.never in ten zillion light(dark?) years any sort of Solution! We could add Gibraltar, 'Davos' the W.H.O. , China's'( = CCP) odious writhing venom - loaded 'Theatre of Hate' ( Pity the poor Chinese' Common Folk'!) to this list. No need for ANY of this! Well.IS THERE? Meantime, Y VIVA ESPANÃ ..as we in Britain say.. xxxx

I commented on a previous thread that If they took the music from Momentary Lapse and the lyrics from Radio KAOS it would have made a nice little Dark Side Of The Moon.
+Aditya ....what? "This sounds like the song your listening to!" What kind of comment is that. What in your brain made you say that this song sounds like the song that it is. WHY?! You're completely pissing me off.
+TehDubster It's a joke about people coming on here and saying everything sounds like some older song, as if it's an insightful or interesting observation. It's an invitation to appreciate art as something new, rather than to find the value in similarities to things you've already heard.
This song focused on one type of refugee but our miserable age has produced them in so many places. Family separation as a policy for vulnerable people ! Roger Waters reminds us that not all is vile , even when we cannot do much we can empathize, vocalize and we can vote !
In my small country Holland each year 1800 people commit suicide......so its a hug problem worldwide. So thats why i dont believe in a god. God created us....people they say ?
Esse clip é sensacional! Imagine a saudade de uma mãe não ter mais sua filha e ficar com uma boneca deixada por ela como a maior lembrança. Roger Waters é de uma sensibilidade que emociona qualquer um.
A powerful song and a powerful video. This reminds us of how we started to help refugees, we still have the small doll that we found on the beach in front of our house in lesvos in early 2015. We are still helping today, thank you for making this song. All the best , The Kempson family
hi, many thanks to you, great mister of the free world ;) I appreciate very much your big screen at the opening of "the wall" at Montreal, the 2022, july 15 th ;) Love you :)
I agree! Not sure if you are awear of any other work Roger has done? about 20 years ago (I think 🙊), he did a truly unique/outstanding cd called, "the pros and cons of hitchhiking",..giive it a go! Some of the melodies in that still have the ability to put tears in my eyes, but in a good way, lots of it is beautifully sad. He has got that amazing voice but some of his melodies are truly powerful too.
With age, you realize that permanence is a jewel. And everywhere around, one NEW, which is already sick. Roger waters tunes himself up like a precious wine. And the wine is gaining flavor, degrees and wonderful deep taste. Don't change. Your world has long been ours. We've been living in your world for half a century. And we're so beautiful here... Thank you.
Love him or hate him Roger Waters remains the greatest lyricist in the history of music and this video combines both meaningful lyrics and stunning visuals so.....WOW!!
You obviously never listened to early Marillion with Fish as singer... Waters is always stuck with the same boring themes, the same patterns to manipulate listener's emotions into imposing his antics... I dropped from buying his records with Radio KAOS, the last time this receipe truly worked was likely "Perfect Sense", mainly thanks to PJ Arnold but... Yet another depressing recycled "Final Cut"
C'mon. I love Roger, but as brilliant lyrics go, he's not quite on the same level as Dylan, Cohen, Lennon, Tom Waits, or Joni Mitchell, and there are many other rock lyricists I would rate as just as good as Roger: Jim Capaldi of Traffic, Robert Hunter of the Grateful Dead, Paul Kanter, Peter Sinfield, Peter Gabriel, among others. But Roger's great, no doubt about it.
I was on every concert of Roger in Poland... For this time i learn my two daughters about beauty of Roger Waters and how important is his music to be real free Man. Thank you Roger
Man Roger, something unique about your voice and what you have to say that brings me to a place that doesn’t exist in the real world and I like it a lot better there.
Why can't Roger Waters get along with his old bandmates, yet spends his time preaching about world peace and bashing fashionable targets. People are people.
Another deeply moving song from Roger Waters' new album. This is clearly going to be by far his best solo album and one of the greatest albums of 2017.
lol, did you hear pros and cons and amused to death? i love roger with all of my heart, but this isnt going to be anywhere near either of those albums.
Tool&Maiden: Possibly, but this is Waters. Anything he does will be measured against Floyd and his previous solo releases. The album may pale in comparison to some of those, but compare it to most of the other releases this year and it will shine brightly. It's all a matter of perspective.
ToolandMAIDEN14 Pros and cons and amused to death are amazing albums but we need to listen to this full album to be able to make comparisons don't u think?
by far the greatest man ever to put pen to paper, mixed with beautiful music that makes every hair move. i have listened to my hero since i was a small boy and always will do... thankyou roger waters thank you x
You can put Roger Waters in whatever negative light...but he will always be a poet extraordinaire. His lyrics remain as Pink Floyd's mouthpiece in the world. Among the best songwriters of the 20th century.
Worth noting, no need to hold him in any negative light because everyone has their negative side, and Roger's negative side (whatever that may be) is surely dwarfed by his positive side.... Roger Waters in my opinion was the living backbone to the brilliance of Pink Floyd.. he provided the heart and soul and meaning of Pink Floyd music.. he gave Pink Floyd direction and purpose.. much thanks Roger for the great musical experiences you have given us.. all the best!
There's a poetic line that cuts through the song. It's moving, sweet and pure. I flew high while I was caressing your soul along the horizon at that time.
Classic genius from the man who has soothed our souls for decades. Feel slightly sad for David G (and us) who listen to this and feel and know that with David's vocal and guitar solos there would be yet another classic magic Pink Floyd song. The public longing for these two musicians to play together again far outstrips the Gallagher brothers inevitable reunion, and rightly so. Roger Waters and David Gilmour working in unison now would be the most powerful force in rock music on the planet. And fuck, how dearly needed.
I have waited ( well, one of many of Rogers disciples of his amazing words and music ) for over twenty years since Amused to Death, and the more i listen to his new album, the more i love it, thank you Roger, the album was worth the wait, can you please do one more before my 70th, just two years to go, no pressure !!
Just saw him live in. Glasgow on 2/06/2023 & what a privilege to see such musical genius at work. This song isn’t part of the show but don’t worry there’s enough new & old classic songs to keep you emotionally invested and just in awe of this man’s talent. What a absolute masterpiece & a legend this man is. We’re so very Very lucky and thankful to be able to still stand by him and watch the amazing music Rodger makes. Please go To see This is a drill Show, it’s an absolute must. 🐖 ☝️
@@Gavaldo Oh sorry for the late reply. I saw Roger Waters twice last year (This is Not A Drill) at the London and Birmingham venue, loved it. I'm seeing Nick Mason's A Saucerful Of Secrets in June , can't wait. The only other surviving member is obviously David Gilmour, i'm praying he does something because I've never seen him Live. I understand that Gilmour is currently working on a new album so, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
