ROGUE MAGE (Sorcerer) Build Guide: Baldur's Gate 3

Here is a Triple Spell slinging Rogue Mage build guide in Baldur's Gate 3! Gloves of Dexterity or Daredevil gloves work great on this build!
The rogue thief gives an extra bonus action at level 3 which gives up the ability to deal a ton of damage with spells as well as with sneak attacks. We can cast Greater Invisibility to get advantage on our attacks. This build kind of does a bit of both, but isn't perfect. You do miss it on level 6 spell slots as well as some other spells that you would get as a sorcerer, but that's okay if you want to use the rogues extra bonus actions which can be used to hide, use band of the mystic scoundrel or cast quickened spells. The secret to this build is getting advantage on your attacks and proccing the sneak attack on your eldritch blasts
This was a request from @MulderHiggins and I think it turned out pretty well. I knew I wanted to have eldritch blast on here somehow for the sneak attacks

This seems like a fresh and interesting concept. I like the different builds instead of all the min/max builds I see elsewhere. Keep doing great stuff

@@zaconeal8839 3 spells per turn, band of the mystic scoundrel, sneak attacks, greater invisibility. It’s an interesting build and can also be the face of your party!

Sadly they patched the possibility of using sneak attack on spell attacks ... before that the warlock rogue, that used sneak attack on three different enemys in one turn was possible

Agreeeed! Looking forward to it, I play PC but a lot of my viewers are console players so I never want to exclude anyone! I haven’t used cosmetic mods in a single build guide and people ask me all the time what cosmetic mods I use, so the base game is THAT good!!

There is a lot of it already, like allowing to reach level 20, more feats and one that I liked a lot which is a feat called cantrip master, in order to compensate I used some additional enemies but it is not that op of course

OOOO! dude, this is an awesome guide! It's not only a very interesting and unique build, but it's perfect for the style. Sneak attack spells? Insane. Also good for the ✨lore✨. Oh dude. you can even play as Imoen like this. Thanks man, this is exactly what i wanted! I'm gonna make my tav have this build 🫡 Mage is sort of a different term in bg3, so Sorcerer i believe counts!

Thanks bro! Sneak attack scorchin ray and eldritch blast is pretty cool! You can use a staff if you want as the hand crossbows will trigger sneak attack on your spell attack rolls. Also three spells per turn is pretty fun!! I have an idea for warlock that’s pretty powerful too, and wizard but the wizard one is the weakest of the three from my testing I tagged you in the description but it wasn’t tagging your account for some reason! But yeah, stay tuned for a future rogue mage build

@@JasonDunna i'm staying tuned! A warlock/Rogue build can be pretty cool, but I am also excited for when you make a rogue mage build! I think I like having two melee weapons because you can do an off-hand attack if the battle is long and you're out of sorcery points. So no staff for me. I'm using the potent robe because someone else in my party is using the water robe. I use haste pretty much every battle, but I use counterspell more. Plus, Gale can cast haste on me, anyways! Or I do it the other way around, I have haste, he has counterspell. Either way it works!🫡

I did an arcane tricker build in the past, but sadly it’s by FAR the worst subclass in the game. It sadly doesn’t translate well from tabletop DnD to video game BG3

Hex and Greater Invisibility don't work together due to both requiring concentration. I suggest that instead of Magic Initiate: Warlock, you take Spell Sniper. You'll still get Eldritch Blast, but will also get increased criticals.

That’s fair they’re kinda a one or another type deal. Hex while in combat for stronger scorching ray / eldritch blast Spell sniper is solid though

Jay, are you able to do the Dame Aylin build? I'm not sure how to do a Cleradin. I have not found any Dame Aylin build on RU-vid, and BG3 have been put for almost a year. Thanks

4:22 just replace one low level spell for fireball and get both at lv 5. NOT having an ultra explosive lv 5 at the end of act is is such a waste, it's one of the most fun power spikes in the whole game. The issue, tough, is you will have 5 sorcery points, so either you use 3 to cast twinned haste, possible te most powerful thing you can do in this game period, or 3 to quicken spell your fireball - not worth it imho unless you are just trying to have a fun time clearing goblins. In honor mode haste is less powerful, but twinned haste is still one of the most powerful things you can do in the first turn of any fight.

Yeah that’s true you can replace chromatic orb for fireball, I just worry about running low on spell slots with haste and fireball! But haste is seriously so strong, and twinning it to your fighter can end encounters quickly !
