Rogue pairs excellent with Cyclops. Applying Touched to the villain right off the bat ensures Cyclops will ALWAYS hit for 3 damage with Optic Blast which will become a free attack once he plays Ruby Visor. Additionally not only can Cyclops recur Full Blast with the Jean Grey ally…Rogue can recur it to herself with her Touched combos. I also like to use Cyclops with Valkyrie since she can just engage Death-Glow turn 1 which sets up Optic Blast nicely similar to Rogue’s Touched.

Rogue getting Full Blast is useless as she can't use it as it's an interrupt that only Cyclops can trigger

@@zero-vd6nx Yeah that’s true but lately I’ve been using her with mutant education to recur Hulk Smash! It’s been a ton of fun.

Good review. I think Rogue has some similarities to Shadowcat, in that her ceiling is really high. But it's highly dependent on deck construction and player skill. Which makes her really hard to rank. Given a few months of her in the meta, and a few more packs released we will have a better grasp of how much potential she really has. And like you mentioned, she grows with the game. So she may be a hero that needs re-evaluation a couple times a year. But this is also why I like the x-men cycle so far. Each hero has some really good potential, but you have to work to get there. And that challenge makes it ever sweeter when you overcome their weaknesses to win the game. Just a great balancing act from the dev team on this one.

Love this take. As she grows players will "figure her out" and I think she can really start to shine. Shadowcat is a beast and I can totally see Rogue follow that path too. It does remind me when I first saw Shadowcat's preview and was a bit disappointed and thought she wouldn't be super strong, oh how that has changed lol Totally agree, this cycle has been top tier and love how it feels like the designers are really hitting their stride!

Been waiting for this one, thanks Nelson! I'm looking to run Protection with her (I play duo exclusively) and have Touched on the villain most of the time so she can tank the hits then lay the smackdown with those events. Your outro sounds like Bomfunk MC's - Freestyler! "Rock the microphone!"

she seems like the kind of hero that I'd be rewinding actions all the time on my playthrough LOL i'm so good at forgetting effects and responses. Even playing slow and rereading cards i mess up often. Still would play her, x-men so far have been so much fun and your video was an awesome spotlight

My favorite way of playing her so far is just going with the Spider boys and girls and Protection. It's not the most unique or anything, but it works for me, I'm having fun and that's plenty.

Its so fun! I havent tried her in protection with the spidey friends! I have been so fixated on getting Dauntless to work! Do you have a deck list you mind sharing so I can check it out?

That overkill is super fun. Used it in multiplayer and had a blast just beating up all the minions on everyone's field. LOL

Oh that's awesome! I tried it one time in multiplayer and we got overrun by Reavers before I could set anything up! Need to try it again! Did you go the Honed Technique route?

My aspect rankings are about the same, I haven't really found a Justice or Aggression deck I really like yet. I think the overkill build is gimmicky and touched on minions has a lot of opportunity costs. As for power level, I think she can reach A tier levels but the powerful parts about her are boring and the interesting parts about her are on the weak side. The issue is before X-men, they haven't spent a lot of time doing trait locked cards, so there really aren't that many legit combos that aren't gimmicky. Sorcerer Supreme is legit in Prot and Leadership, Spider L deck is strong tho Miles and Ham does the same thing better, and Go for Champions is just a broken card. But she will definitely be worth revisiting whenever new trait locked cards come out (maybe there will be some good X force cards).

Oooh yea I like that phrasing. Touched really wants to be on an ally or the villain, the minion you are just loosing out too much. Interesting take. I think that she can be very powerful with the right deck in the right aspect. So for the overall power, taking into account all the aspects, helps bump her out of that A tier category for me. That being said, in two years with an expanded card pool there is no way she doesnt get bumped up

I don’t have her, but she can literally (potentially) play every single card in the game, and every single card that will be printed. Her ceiling seems high, but her floor seems low if you deck build poorly.

Wonder how 2 hand solo would play out with gambit and rogue, Kitty and colossus and Jean and Scot I guess either Wolverine and storm or for reasons (fast ball?) Wolverine and colossus and then storm and Kitty. Waiting for rogue to get delivered and for gambit to go down in inflated prices where I’m at so far still over 30 lmao. When I do get them tho I’ll want to try structured and then maybe gambit in protection and rogue in leadership. Btw when your in a 4 play co op can’t you request your comrades to give you stuff? That will help you build faster? If they don’t also need it obv

Also, what are the chances future cycles will include other x men I can fathom ppl wanting to see beast, iceman, nightcrawler, or other mutant characters like cable, domino, Deadpool but who knows. I can’t even think of a expansion to add that would beat mutant genesis, except more mutants. Like apocalypse. Maybe something like annihilus that could be mutant adjacent as well as a way to give us F4

over 30 is crazy! Hope that comes down soon! Hope you enjoy the others! For the four player question: You can only if the card states you can play it under another player's control. For example, Heroic Intuition can be played under a teammates control, but brute forces does not allow you to

I find that building her around a trait is a bit of a trap. It takes longer to build, often to do something that another character would do better. Sure you can play her with Web-Warriors, but you'd be better off playing her with a full X-Men tribal or a natural Web-Warrior with WW tribal. I've seen no special synergy doing it with Rogue, for example something that require a character to be both an X-Men and Avenger. Rogue is much more interesting in multiplayer than true solo, especially if you are playing with someone that has easy access to Aerial as it allows double dipping on her events and using the Aerial cards in your build.

Thats a really interesting take and I think it gets more interesting and powerful when you can build around multiple tribes and get multiple pieces from all the different teams comboing together! What are some of your favorite ways to play her solo? Also totally agree, she is a blast multiplayer and I cant wait for some crazy shennigans when she is pulling other hero cards!

@@NelsonAllOverCards Trait fishing is an interesting puzzle from a deck building perspective and how to implement in game, but more effort and less effective that just building X-men decks and focusing on her signature events.

I have question about touched. I should set it aside before game or shuffle it into deck and be scared when for example Ultron draws top card for drone? I tried to search in google but got no clear answers

You should shuffle it in, however since there is no limit on where you search (example cap says search deck and discard pile) Rogue doesnt care where it is, she goes and gets it. So even if it was stolen as a drone you would take touched back and set it aside. Hope that helps!
