Just discovered your channel. Im really enjoying your take on Marvel Champions. Probably gonna burn through all the Marvel Champions videos today and tomorrow. Please make more!
Another great video! It looks like they did Rogue justice for the game too. FFG is now one character away from getting me in on Champions...Maybe they'll forget about Daredevil and I won't have to buy it. I'm not looking forward to your review of Obsession. I've played it once and was surprised by how much I liked it. If you sell me on it for solo play then I'll HAVE to buy it as well...
Thanks! She’s pretty fun! Touched is a great little puzzle! And I’m sure we’ll get him eventually. Though I am genuinely surprised we’re this deep into the game and haven’t gotten him yet! Obsession is great, I am sorry! It’s actually going to be a two-parter, because the big expansion has a whole new solo mode!
It’s a tough set, but it does look like I was making it harder on myself than it really is. Misled apparently does NOT go into your discard, like I said in the video. Goes in the regular Encounter discard. So, at least there’s that. I wouldn’t let it put you off too much, she’s still strong, and Touched is a nice mechanic.
Question time, G.N. regarding the unique signature allies in the hero decks. I know that any hero can't have two of the same ally with the same name in thier deck. (Hawkeye having two Mockingbird ally cards) My question is: can two heroes who have the other ally as a signature ally, like Rogue and Gambit, play at the same time? Say in a two player game? Or do they have to remove tat ally from thier deck? I hope not. Thematically, I can see that the signature ally will remain in the hero's deck. Since its a co-op game its like your real-life ally gets a free few turns with thier character. Rule-wise, I can see it having to be removed but man that would suck. Thanks again. I ask because I just bought Gambit and Rogue is probably next.
Their signature allies, unfortunately, just become resource cards. The ally versions can’t enter play, and you technically have to include every hero specific player card.
Man that sucks. Thats some really tricky card management in some hero cases (Hawkeye, Spider-Woman, Hulk, etc.) Keep up the good work. Enjoy your videos a lot. I especially like how you explain how cards would work with others to maximize thier effects. It really helps clarify the mechanics to the game.
Yeah, it’s kind of a bummer. I have seen people on Reddit house-ruling it. Take out the ally and replace it with the team up card. And, thanks! Glad to hear they help!
I couldn’t help feeling that giving her Avengers or WebWarrior or Android etc was a nifty gimmick but overall felt more like she was a pale copy of the real thing. Multiplayer is a different thing. Lifting a friend’s 8 hp big boom card, using it, then politely giving it back is really fantastic. So very Southern. For example, borrowing Ironheart’s progress counter generating attacks/thwarts enabled Riri to go all nuclear far earlier than expected. Unfortunately that kind of makes Rogue the ultimate support. So overall I’d rate her as very good but not great. Of the two lovebirds, Gambit is better overall.
Yeah, she seems like she really shines in multiplayer. Plus, taking the trait cards when you KNOW you’ll have a Web Warrior or Mystic on hand feels a lot more worth it. That’s an awesome interaction with Ironheart! Agree that Gambit is better, for sure.
