The protagonist of this game is voiced by Lani Minella in a rare starring role. She has a list of game credits that dwarfs even the most memed-on voice actors like Jennifer Hale or Nolan North (most people are likely familiar with her either from StarCraft or Skyrim) but usually as "Additional Voices". Quintessential blue collar voice actress.

I guess the publisher didn't have enough money to properly market the game because they hired Tarantino to ghost write the cheat codes.

The devs really went, "hey, remember how everyone likes metal gear solid? We're not going to do what Kojima did."

The bad guys in this game have sloppy accountants on top of everything else. Clearly "Richard" comes before "Rogue Ops's Crossbow, Sniper Rifle, and Silenced Pistol".

This looks like the kind of game Gman would review purely for the T'n'A.

Those gold bars still have a texture though, it's just that the shader is only comprised of a local color, in this case yellow. There is no specularity, normal, or light mapping which is why it looks so terrible. But it's still a texture. Actual untextured objects appear different depending on the game engine bc a default texture is used to display untextured assets. The more you know 🌈

Rogue Ops tutorial: "Yeah, you literally just killed that guy we hired to stand there, it's okay, he was nobody important" Rogue Ops later: "Don't kill any of these guards or you fail" You can be a psychotic game or you can be a control freak game. Try to chase both rabbits, and you lose them both. Also don't do either of those things in the first place, ever.

That one with the guard ripping out his spine off the roof was actually pretty dope looking.

I found this game used for about $10 years ago and bought it. It has a few good moments. There's a point early on you have to hack a door code and you can actually watch a guard enter it from a distance and get it that way. There's one mission where I remember guards communicate on radio periodically and if you start killing them, even if you don't set off alarms, they'll realize something's up when they don't get a response. There's a few good uses for gadgets. But man, those good moments are separated by long stretches of absolute terribleness. The game was insanely hard, and generally not for a good reason. It was harder on the easiest difficulty than Splinter Cell games are on the hardest difficulty, but it rarely felt a worthwhile challenge. Let's just say I'm glad I only spent $10 on it.

A set of Gems, some overrated, some underrated, some perfectly rated... All of the James Bond games. Like Nightfire, and Agent Under Fire. Definitely worth checking out again.
