Susan Foreman was not abandoned. She married David and had a child. She later appeared in the Five Doctors where she saw her Grandfather again and resolved any outstanding issues. She's also appeared in numerous Big Finish adventures and fought in the Time War.

I think it’s significant that in Dot and Bubble, Lindy called the Susan Twist character “Mommy” and not “My mommy.” I think that was that character’s job/role, that she was “Mommy” to all the residents of Finetime.

Rogue is a chuldur. His space ship is a bird - how did the chuldur arrive on earth if not on this ship? Two of the chulder (overseen by Ruby) play out their scenario alone in the library, so the idea that one of them could be playing a bounty hunter come to hunt the others isn't difficult to imagine: games within games. Plus the doctor specifically says that if he had met a chuldur before, he wouldn't have known. Rogue goes with the others because the only way out (and the most exciting game) for all the chuldur, is to entice the doctor to follow them. It also explains why the ring is given so quickly - if Rogue is a chuldur, it makes perfect sense.

Okay but i think Nadia is onto something with The Legend of Ruby Sunday being set in the near future. Now, I dont know the London skyline well enough to speak on that, or Kate's haircolor shift. But I agree about the Vlinx, and let's not forget that Rose is clearly already there working her Unit desk job before The Doctor popped in. Rose, who was supposed to be 15 last November. And who is dressed much more maturely than her previous, very teenage style, before.

Susan Twist is the HARBINGER of Sutekh like Henry was for Maestro.

Why is no one mentioning the fact that Richard E. Grant actually played The Doctor for a hot minute in the 1999 Red Nose Day episode "The Curse of Fatal Death" which was penned by Stephen Moffat? Even though the image we saw fly by seemed much more recent, I feel like that might come into play somehow... ooooohhh

Last week the podcast was really good but I‘m beginning to suspect that was because Tyrell was there and gave us a glimpse of what it used to be during the specials because we‘re right back to whatever this was supposed to be. Please, I beg you, for series 2 bring back Christel, Tyrell and Juno.

in the preview you see the title "The Tale of Ruby Sunday" on a live broadcasting-type camera (Toymaker vibes) and you can see a shot of the dr in a tv studio- that plus how the demon-looking Susan Twist cuts out all digitally... I'm thinking Ruby Sunday's life is like a sci-fi Truman Show and "the one who waits" is directing. Oh yeah and our introduction to Ruby was that interview for a tv show. I think I'm onto something here!

The thing that would indicate it being a couple of years in the future is Rose seemingly workin or havein an internship at unity dispite being a child last time we saw her

Susan was there for 14th Doctor before Ruby. So I think she's there for the doctor. Maybe HIS birth mom.

I think the word "triad" is relevant in that a lot of things come in three's. Fourteen says "There is order; there is chaos; and then there is play." As far as these Celestial forces go, we have only met two: the father and the (non-binary) child. The Toymaker and Maestro. We haven't met Maestro's mother! The Toymaker is play. Maestro is order. Maestro's mother must be chaos, also known as "The Boss", also known as "The One Who Waits."

Richard E Grant was the Doctor in a series of Dalek films that were initially believed to be outside Doctor Who canon but I guess since the Timeless Child recon, they've taken the opportunity to canonize them

My theory about Susan Twist being like a mastermind director for the season MIGHT still hold some weight but I'm also thinking it might be something else. Initially, the idea was, is, that Twist is like the puppet master to this very self aware realization that the Doctor and Ruby are in some sort of televised simulation. And now I'm thinking maybe Twist is a victim or a pawn in someone else's bigger scheme, specifically The One Who Waits. It could be the Valeyard, it could be the Rani, it could be anyone at this point. But I'm waiting until next Friday to see if any of this holds weight.

It surprises me that nobody talks about the references that the ToyMaker made about the Master. What if the Master and Ruby's mom got pregnant. The Master is encases in the gold tooth the ToyMaker had. Ruby is born and somebody takes her away from her mother and drops her off at the Church on Ruby Road . Susan Twist could be the mother or the person who took Ruby to the Church on Christmas.

I'm realizing is he crying because he knows he's been there before I think he is stuck in a time loop by the triad but has no recollection of being their so every time he cries its probably his inner self crying that he couldn't change the outcome again. also the snow every time ruby on the screen keeps getting more and more snowy what if its not ruby what if its a clock leading up to the one who waits getting closer to them , ruby has had a lot of fake out deaths what if its actually showing every time she actually died and the doctor always has to go back. learning every time trying to get her out of it . what if ruby is the key to the one who waits becoming good.

Did anybody notices the songs in the rogue episode. For example when the doctor talked to rogue on the balcony we could hear billie eilish bad guy in the background. That was insane guys!

Saying it now, Rogue will get his own spin-off, where he travels the universe as a bounty hunter, saving everyone from monsters and aliens. But instead of killing them, moves them to empty planets after what the Doctor has said. Now, what if the cloaked stranger who delivered Ruby is the same person who put the Doctor through the rift in the Timeless Children. A sort of Intergalactic child protective service officer. Takes children out of dangerous places and puts them somewhere they will be safe. (Do I go so far as to say Ruby is the Doctor? No, but if it works out, I'll claim it.) Susan Twist aka Susan Triad and Mrs Flood are sent to either watch over Ruby, or hurt Ruby. Possibly one of each, but which is which? Though, a triad is part of a group of three, so is there a third in this group?

It was so amazing getting some of that MCU humour in Doctor Who. We need more MCU writers to write for RTD2.

Re: Rogue Management seems to be trying to change the Doctor into a more normal guy: lonely, looking for more than hanging around with dotty friends he has to babysit. He's growing up! Call it "About a Time Traveler" but without the good luck to cast Hugh Grant. For 60 years we assumed he was a sex-less humanish alien who took an interest in travelling with his pet humans. Think of him as a British school instructor without the home life because fate seems to have condemned him to be on never-ending school outings. He doesn't sleep apparently, or have a dining area, or any hobbies. Or a library or a bathroom. To say he is a bit thin in representation at this point is an understatement. This is a fairly limited palette to work with -- barely above a travel show, certainly not Harry Potter level. But they made it into an adventure show thanks to campy villains and the occasional thoughtful moment -- pretty impressive. Throw in the regeneration gimmick -- absolute genius if you want to replace your star when it is convenient -- and you have the makings of a sustainable, albeit gimmicky show. Would Who have done as well over the years if he fell in love and showed it more explicitly? I don't know. But we are about to find out. It's worth remembering that the Doctor did have River Song in his life. It's just that it wasn't presented very explicitly. A "sort of wife" is how Davies referred to her, or was it Moffat who said this, can't remember -- but certainly not like any wife I've ever had (I was lucky enough to have had 2, both pretty impressive -- not the stuff of vague memories I can tell you.) And of course the River relationship was heterosexual, so not controversial to many. I think homophobia and change in the show in general are the issue here for some of the traditional viewers of the show. And I think the BBC/and now Disney? are having a hard time figuring out whether Who is supposed to be for children. If BBC wants the show to remain British and be as sustainable as it has been, it will have to think about some of these issues. Regardless, I'm a long-time fan -- a man in my late 60s -- and not wilting in the face of a gay Doctor who happens to be able to look okay dancing. And who seems able to appreciate another man looking good in a jacket. It's kind of fun, actually.

Well before the finale, The Spin Off Tales of the TARDIS is returning and this time it’s got The 15th Doctor and Ruby in it and the story they gonna discuss is tied to the finale and a certain classic villain and this story is Pyramids of Mars and Sutekh might actually be The Main Villain in the finale I really do hope this is true and also Sutekh wiping everyone from existence when I watched the trailer makes him Doctor Who’s Thanos, so I would really want Sutekh to return as he’s such a great villain

My theory ruby is the daughter of Lucy saxon and the master. Lucy lived after the explosion because she was pregnant with ruby and baby ruby protected her with timelord abilitys lucy had to hide ruby from the master. I know the timelines don't add up but Lucy said last time we saw her family had connection so maybe they had access to time travel like a time watch like captain jacks

So we got Kylie Minogue (and some Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga) music in the in _Rogue_ a story that is about not directly about any of them, but not even a _Love Me Do_ in the Beatles' episode _The Devil's Chord!?_ What the heck!? It's just kinda sad that _The Chase_ a sixty-year-old story, a story apparently as old as Ellie's 'Boomerish' dad remains the go-to Beatles Doctor Who story. This episode kinda throws in my face the principle complaint I have with _The Devil's Chord._ You have the Beatles. Give us a song. If Disney _(DISNEY!)_ couldn't afford to pay for the rights of a Beatles song maybe they should have made that episode about Smash Mouth, or Three Doors Down, or one of the singers on this episode's soundtrack. Jinkx's performance as Maestro, and the wardrobe department are the real heroes of _The Devil's Chord._

Fantastic episode. More questions more questions. Love it.

I want to repeat my theory that Ruby is manifesting Susan Twist across time and space as a stand-in for her actual mother- I do, however, agree w/ Shabaz about Ruby potentially having seen her mum as a baby, just a flash and made a sort of phantom sketch in her mind. The two aliens in the teaser are Susan Twist unwillingly portraying two dangerous figures that were also there at Christmas...and are the reason she was abandoned in the first place.

It is not the same tune. I whish he would stop saying that. Anyone with basic music training can tell it's a different tune.

“Find me” says rogue. And how long did he ‘wait’? The one that waits… is a bitter and vengeful Rogue. Also: really can’t stand these hosts. That guy is cringe. I don’t get why the have Botton shelf guests. This vodcast makes no logical sense. How do they miss the mark do fundamentally.

*2005 - 2015 Series averaged 14 episodes.* Doctor lite and Companion lite episodes were not a big deal. *EIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH!* Eight might be enough for an untried spin-off. However, the anchor, the mainstay Doctor Who stories needs the span of 13 or 14 episodes per series to unify the universe. *Please find a way to make it happen...*

I'm prepared to be proven wrong but...what if, the two _weird looking_ Susan Twists are just like "interface design glitches"? Like, when her face is being scattered across via Ruby's powers, there's interference bc universe has a lot of interference i.e the sparks under the TARDIS, and it's creating these nightmarish versions that aren't entirely real, but Susan Triad still unfortunately sees them. Like whatever technology she's been messing with turns her into a modulator for the whole Susan Twisting shebang? She sees them so Ruby doesn't.

So why is it that the US has just this, but no Unleashed? Makes zero sense to me.

They say in the podcasts notes that this Podcast and Shabaz will lead the social conversation? But the conversation I'm seeing on the socials is how amateurish he is! His co-host is a mismatch but at least professional. What's he even bringing to the table? It seems like he's lacking in knowledge and insight, and his analysis is off base. Does he even watch the episodes? It's like, there's a total void of talent there. The only one who seemed to know what they were talking about was Ellie Jolly, and even she wasn't my first choice. Someone needs to start a petition or something to make sure we don't get stuck with Shabaz in 2025. Like, come on, we can do better than this!

This series has been absolutely awful. I used to really enjoy Doctor Who.
