SPOILER: Honestly surprised they listened and cared enough about our comments that they made this one. I have no idea if they had this in the works already or if they are planning on selling it. Regardless, getting a bench within a couple of weeks after I made comments is so cool.
I love your channel and I mostly watch it at night when my toddler is asleep. The difference between your music volume and speaking volume is frustrating. I have to turn it up to hear you and then suddenly the music is blasting.
This is why we love you and we love rogue. You're not scared to tell the hard honest truth to the big boys and they're humble enough to listen and implement changes
Way to step it up, Rogue! They have the ability and expertise to make these high-end additions to the Monster line, so it's great to see it! Also, I can FEEL your excitement from here.
I wish you did a review of the Rogue Monster Competition flat bench 2.0 because I saw your review of the older version vs the REP competition bench and Rouge seems to have addressed most of the concerns you mentioned
I think things like this is what separates Rogue from the pack. Love that they took your comments on board, I know I do. Now I just need to move to America and all will be good.
This bench is still only offered in a powder coat.... What I don’t get about Rogue benches is how costly they are but how bare bones they can b with the frills. I guess you’re just paying for superior stability and USA manufacturing.
Just checked Rogues site and these Options are not available. I am sure when they become available price goes up, which still makes REPs bench better for the money
Honestly I like the textured coat better, plus the knurled handle is a bit over the top in my opinion. I like stuff simple but effective. But I can see what you like about this and Rogue is super smart for doing this because now 100 people going to start reviewing and buying Rogue as well.
Am I the only one that didn't care about all the complaints he had with the previous bench? I don't give a shit if my pad touches the ground or if the handle is a barbell, and I prefer that matte black over gloss anyway. Regardless, updated or not I'm not impressed. If the price was the same as Rep, maybe I would go with this bench, but otherwise, Rep's still getting my money on this one.
Yeah, the things you talk about aren't for everyone. I have extremely technical-minded friends that think colors, logos, and shiny things are silly. From a function standpoint, the bench isn't much better than the previous one, but I like details and so I talk about them. I'm very much into design and aesthetics, but recognize not everyone is which is why I always go back to, "what is the best for most people" and believe the FB-5000 is still that bench.
@@Pler1978 I've had more succuss with quality from Rep than any American Companies so far, including Rogue. Even my Rogue equipment has had weld issues. I only buy quality equipment as it's going into a commercial studio, and Rep has by far been the best bang for my buck.
Nice touch, but… 1) Extend the new knurled handle so you dont have to reach beneath the pad to get to the handle (unlike the FB-5000) 2) Where are the washers? If they offer it in Rogue 'Bright Blue' (with Black Zinc Flat Washers, and black cerakote knurled handle, too) - I'M IN! (then I'll have someone else fabricate the handle I want later on)
So after seeing this video last week I decided to go out and purchase this bench with the fat pad. It came yesterday and I put it together last night. In case anyone is wondering I did not receive the monster bench that Coop had sent to him, I received the one that he did the review on. I wasn't too pissed but I did pay close to 550 CAD and for that kind of money for a bench it would have been nice to have a knurled handle. Overall bench looks great but I do agree w/ Coop that Rogue needs to step up their customization options and start going in the direction that Sorines has imo. Also the button head screws I got were stripped and the rear UHMW cap when the bench sits upright does not fit at all through the spine so pretty pissed about that. I'll be letting rogue know.
I am. However, I'd also like to point out that I've spent an insane amount of hours building GGR, reviewing equipment in an honest manner that has in reality turned a few companies off (because they didn't agree with my findings), researching equipment including reading, driving, flying, cold calling, and learning from people smarter than I and spending a ton of money to get to the point where Rogue sends me a surprise bench. I'm blessed to even breathe; the fact that I get to review gym equipment, something I truly love doing and I hope shows in my work, makes me want to work harder than ever.
@@yanchiou5679 I believe in income diversification, so I'm always working on other projects. I was a financial planner in and out of college and realized the importance of investment diversification, but people forget that income diversification is just as important. Also, I have too much energy and curiosity to just do one thing haha
Greatest product is the bench cover. They make for fat pad as well, protects the bench and has great grip to bench off of. I had the first version of the rogue bench it sucked, I switched to rep bench cause I could not set my feet when I benched
Hey Coop or anyone else. Can you confirm if the updated version of this bench has the upgraded vinyl backside or if it was just custom for Coop? Thanks!
Only thing is. Are they going to go public with this? If they do, are they going to increase the price because of it? And what about the people who got the first few batches if they do change it? Doesn’t feel fair. :/
Of course I’m subscribed Coop! How else am I going to know when you decided to take up cooking instead of gym equipment and decided to send me all that beautiful equipment But for real, you’d be great at spatula comparisons.
"Check out the tensile strength of the shaft on this spatula. It's even got knur...oh wait...is that...VOLCANO KNURL?!?! Great job All Clad. This is mean/tough/awesome!"
Coop...I have this awesome bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you next, which I know you will just love...it has knurled "barbell" handles on the railings, so you know it's premium!
You make some of the best equipment videos. Brandon Campbell diamond does a really good job as well. You need to team up!! I sent him similar message. One second note, I have about 9k worth of rogue equipment (rm-6 rack, bunch of access, urethane plates, the rep SS power bar (bought mainly after ur review)) etc. all coming literally tomorrow, Question, where can you get cheapest deadlift jack, I know I know..... but in reality it’s just something that annoys me that they around 200 dollars for a rogue one. Lastly, have you used or made a video on the 50 cal. Adjust arms from rogue?
Eric Thomsen that’s what I’m thinking. Everyone is praising rogue for this 2.5 version, but it seems like a “one off” build. What about the other guys that have bought one already. Will they get some of the new features? Probably not. At most, rogue will implement the changes, but probably increase the price as well.
Have you ever heard of anyone having issues with Rogue squat stands powder coat rubbing off really easily right out of the box? I just got the sml 90 squat stand and everything that's powder coated on the rack, j hooks and safety arms all rubs off onto my hands. Any ideas?
Hey, I have a friend with a 4 post flat bench who does incline by propping the back feet up on a box. I was curious if this bench, or the REP version would be able to do that since they have a single post design or if it would be too unsable? I'm looking for a bench for my garage gym but space is limited and I don't want the front feet if I can help it.
@@GarageGymReviews I bought it last month and am super happy with it. I don't have much experience with benches but this one is solid. I really like the decline option for core work.
Just saw this video. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL buuutttt Coop we are not getting free stuff from Rogue so we dont have to praise a company so we will keep getting free stuff from them. We want the best quality for a fair price and the best company for that is REP. There is no reason in the world why we should pay Rogue prices when REP is sitting there making the same quality stuff and sometimes higher quality stuff for a lot lower prices. If U had to pay for stuff REP would be the company U praise, not Rogue. I get U though, if I had a Brand New Shiny Bench made to my specs from Rogue sitting on my porch when I get home, I probably would say they are better than REP too and that is why We take your recommendations with a pinch of salt and we cannot trust them. Sorry man, just the truth, U say U tell the truth, well, nope, u say what helps U and Hey that is cool and we should say our truth. That is why I leave comments when they are warranted. U should be called out on a bad recommendation like the Fray fitness functional trainer. Nobody after having that thing for 6 months will think, hey, I made a good purchase with this this functional trainer, not 1 person but recommended it. U know U should be called out on recommending something like that. Sorry man Anyway, They all say leave a comment to help the system so here is my comment, I'm helping your system
