Why would he? He's one of the few in the X-Men that can and will kill if he has too. It would have been very easy for him to kill Trask and not lose sleep over it.
@@adambrown6669yeah I feel like most of the X-men felt like Morph. Going from “Look at poor man’s Oppenheimer” to “Is this who we are now?”. It’s not really about who she did it to but about what she did The X-men aren’t about being judge jury and executioner so it makes sense for them to be shocked and horrified by her actions
its pretty consistent to character claremont xmen he would was very willing to kill when other xmen were not....colossus and others were often hesitant....when he killed in the mutant massacre it was a big deal
"A good man MY MAN" is such a sad line. She finally realized that even though she didnt think herself good enough for Gambit that she was good enough and that they DID love eachother but then he died. She finally realized what she had...and now he's gone.
@@abyeadchowdhury2529 That's just a myth, regardless of what they went through over the years, Gambit & Rogue are meant to be one another for better or worse.
Trask was already a bio-Sentinel at this point. Rogue didn't "kill" him, Mr. Sinister did. The real Trask was dead long before this, as shown at the end of episode 6.
@@davidlewis5312 How many people are dead because of Oppenheimer? How many people because of Nobel? Trask had no intention of attacking Genosha. THAT's entirely Sinister and Bastion. And he had no way to fight against Rogue so, yeah, he was helpless at that moment.
@@davidlewis5312How many innocent humans did Magneto kill? Do we now forget what Rogue did to Captain Marvel? Or do you want to talk about the nonsense done by people like Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw who killed thousands of innocent people? hypocrite.
@@yuanpucasn4955Now now: we all know Trask is no Gwen Stacy. Not that innocent, not even in his best moment. Rogue is turning worst than Magneto and that will not help her or the mutants in the long run...
@@ark1567 Exactly! Even if it is true that Trask, Gyrich and many others do deserve to die, especially for what happened with Genosha, that is not up to the X-MEN to decide on their own. Now granted it will be difficult to bring these guys in for tribunal, but it's still way more possible, especially when we've seen them become instrumental figures in the Sentinel program.
It’s funny how Mystique killed Trask in X-Men: Days of Future’s Past, only for Rogue to kill him in X-Men 97. It looks a very a heartbreaking parallel. At this moment, Rogue became Mystique. Like mother, like daughter.
Pretty much. If only Sabine Wren from Star Wars could realize that without having to betray the Galaxy to find Ezra. Yet, unlike Rogue, she just keeps denying her feelings.
@@amitkenan3878 Nah,Jean can definitely take Rogue. If anything it is out of character for Nightcrawler to allow Rogue to do this,he is very religious and against killing. So I will just chuck it off as them not reacting fast enough.
@@rachetmarvel931 also shock, and I doutb night-crawler could teleport since they looked failry far back. So he didn't fully see it. I mean, you find out one of your closest friends kill a guy right after she said she wouldn't lol, It is pretty shocking.
@@rayray6490and even if gambit kmew she chose him he should not take her back. She can't say this after all bullshit she did to him and act like it's all ok bc she chose him in the end
You think they can stop her, that’s the beginning. She missed gambit funeral just to find the people who did this. You think they can stop her from going onto the mission 😂

Though Rouge already killed a lot of people that were in Ross military base. If the X-Men go around killing people good or bad, that will just make things worse for mutants
@@oa-san53there's no guarantee she actually killed anyone, that base as Ross claimed had stuff designed to tackle the hulk, it's entirely possible those tanks did not have a crew, and if they did, that said crew was well protected to survive a Hulk attack. But even still, after what happened on Genosha, and what has happened all her life, she was probably quite done playing nice in the world that refused to let her have a normal peaceful life.
Yeah, but only *after* she broke things off with him, played with his feelings, broke his heart, danced and kissed another man in front of him and him *dying* thinking she chose Erik because he wasn’t good enough for her
@@Fyrijou Dude, it's like I told ya, it was far too clear that Magneto's love blind her too much and when she saw the bigger picture, it was too late but it's far too obvious that she was only elected to be his "queen" for sake of a deed from the Genosha consul.
@@kazallroberts it was also obvious that the political role was only for Rogue to find an excuse to feel better about herself and her choice to ditch Remy, something for herself to be convinced that what she’s doing here is „the right thing“ despite the fact that Magneto could’ve chose many others for that role. She always cared more for the carnal lust than political aspect
Remmy was the main person she held feelings for, magneto was more a fling then anything else. At the end of the day management’s relationship with Rouge was over the physical contact. Gambit was everything else and by the end that meant far more to her than the physical contact magneto offered
it was Gambit she was broken over, not Magneto. if you think she's referring to Magneto you missed the entire point of episode 5. it was effectively her realizing gambit was her soulmate, only to lose him before she could tell him. that's the entire reason Rogue goes on her destructive spree
Hardly! Remember what she did in the exact same episode prior?! Heck, which man is she even referring to anyway?! Gambit or Magneto?! Cause if this girl thinks she can just double dip with an old flame while already being in a relationship, then she's a really lousy person! If anything she has a lot of nerve to still call Remy "Her Man"!
@@Problemsolver434bro i saw you arguing with someone in the comment,i just want to say,i agree with you, rogue cried to gambit and she did that bs infront of gambit,no damn respect at all and after she hug danced kissed magneto, she realized that gambit is the one, ain’t that a bich move
Trask helped wipe out thousands of lives. When someone breaks the rules of engagement that badly, you throw out the rulebook. Both in real life and fiction this follows suit. If your enemy seeks to exterminate you, you don't ask them nicely to stop
@@davidlewis5312cough cough Magneto murdered thousands of people and led the X Men, Sebastian Shaw was a sadistic torturer and lived free in Genosha cough cough hypocrisy.
@@davidlewis5312 he was helpless and regreted his decision, he would be more useful alive. Trask had no intention of attacking Genosha, by your logic Oppenheimer should have been executed by japanese too. Why Magneto and Shaw were forgiven and Trask wasnt? Trask had no intention of harming gambit, but Magneto and Shaw have killed countless people with their own hands, dont seem to regret it, but they can be forgiven and Trask cant be? All of you are hypocrites
@@azurahoshido2592 Ah yes. Simp. The word people use when they have no argument 😂😂😂😂. How will she not know he was there. She literally did it in the air where everyone could see. It's the most intentional thing ever
Didn't feel like your man when you were attracted to Magneto's polarity pelvis, "i don't want him" then when she can't "waa i wanted him". How many people got hurt and killed then she wants to act like she's the victim because of *love* bull. The streets are too good for her
0:57. He knew what would happen once he died. "Anymore of a monster than he already as." has a multiple meaning. Trask created the Sentinels and Master Mold. And was turned into a Prime Sentinel himself, essentially a monster that mopped the floor with the X-Men here untill Cable showed up.
"my man" happy and sad at the same time. Unfortunately, Gambit did not find out that she chose him. and parted on a sad note before the party. I like the pair of Gambit and Rogue. I even re-read the comic Rogue & Gambit (Vol 1). They complement each other
I like this cause this fits the final depiction of Trask from the original show much better. He hated mutants but had only in horror realized Master Mold did not share his misguided hatred. Master Mold would “solve” the problem by replacing all world leaders with Sentinels. “You were supposed to protect humans from mutants” “Illogical, mutants ARE humans, you are asking to be protected from yourselves” And this Trask realized how small and irrelevant his fears were in the face of synthetic life.
"Quick, Jean, catch him!" "Sure, I'll just... Oh, dear, guess he's gone!" (Shrugs with a smirk at Rogue) "You all know how goshdarn unreliable my powers are."
Hypocrisy. Wolverine goes around killing thugs, goons and ninjas and he is still a good guy. Rogue drops a bad guy off a building and she’s “evil.” That is a load of crap.
@@Mammothsaber-4457yeah ended it after kissed him and everything, thats crazy LOL,my man just a rebound for her now? stay up gambit ( nah he six feet down now )
@@kazallroberts She has a lot of nerve to still call Remy "Her Man"! Cause if this girl thinks she can just double dip with an old flame while already being in a relationship, then she's a really lousy person!
@@shawnwarrynn8609 Dude, it was clear during her relationship with Magento that she was too blind by his love and she saw the bigger picture way too late.
I know that we are used to the X-Men being good; but they are still human with mutations. They are grieving the loss of a teammate and a good friend due to outright hatred of people who choose to hate. There is only so much you will put up with until you want blood. Beast, and Cyclops are tired. And I don't blame Nightcrawler or Jean for letting the man fall to his doom. I'm sure they are secretly tired of being sick and tired. They are all at the point of "If this leads to war; then it leads to war."
One, people forget she was originally part of the brotherhood. Two, this is nothing compared to what Magento is gonna do. Sinister made a huge mistake not killing him.
Why didn't Jean grab Trask with her telekinesis or Nightcrawler teleport Trask to safety??? Both characters could have stayed off this mission, as Nightcrawler isn't explicitly a part of the team yet, and Jean has the excuse of needing a break after all that psychic feedback on Genosha she had to endure.
Mister Sinister isn't a mutant at this point in the X-Men history. He's a human who's been experimenting on mutants for centuries to improve himself. Now one of his clone awakened the X-Gene, but the original one is human.
I like this he wasn’t a monster in the comics he really was trying to protect the unenhanced humans of the world even the sentinels ability to track and detect mutants was never ment to hunt them but to find sleeper agents the size was because he couldent make them smaller with the technology of the time it was a flow in their programming and parts of the government’s willingness to use them that turned him into a “monster”
I have a feeling in next episode Magneto will turn into a Bad Guy Villain again maybe Bastian or Mr. Sinister will brainwash him like what they did to Morph
-this is who we are now -Yes, and you know what? You've seen everything. Nightcrawler could have teleported and caught him, Jean could have stopped everything with her thoughts, but you didn’t. You don't really care about him.
@@phillipwattsjr.4714 Superman only kills as a last resort. Rogue dropped an unarmed science geek to his death. There was no immediate threat. Trask isn't Doomsday.
@@Problemsolver434she and Gambit had ended things by that point she was wrong to cheat but people are acting like she was rubbing it in his face when I’m pretty sure she didn’t know he was there
What's also sad about this Rouge must of felt guilty for hurting Gambit. Having Gambit thinking that she wanted to be with Erik instead of him. Gambit died not knowing that Rouge loved him and wanted to be with him instead.
Rogue didn't feel guilty. She'll feel it when she's in Remy's place. And I really want it. Gambit clearly knew what he wanted, and this woman is fickle. I am more than sure that she will return to Magneto and forget about her choice in favor of Cajun. And Gambit is really sorry, he died thinking that he was just a friend to the one he wanted to call his wife.
Jean can fly and Nightcrawler can visibly see where that location is. They better not try judging her in the next episode. Wolverine reaction was realistic, but I hope her tries reason with her that this isn’t something she or the X-men do.
If i remembered correctly Trask wasnt as evil as say Sinister in the earlier shows so him showing remorse fits well and makes him a bit more layered. I remember him being shocked at Master Mold planning to aubment Kelly too. Some empathy
Jean can catch a building but can't catch a scientist? Nightcrawler can out teleport a sentinel blast but not the laws of gravity? Morph can catch Wolverine but can't read the room?
true "my man"?? To begin with, they were literally nothing lol that's the argument they use to whitewash the bad things that Rogue did in the chapters right?
No she didn't. She didn't kiss Magneto until her and Remy broke up and Rogue was hoping that her ability as an empathetic leader would make her and Magneto good partners to lead Genosha into a future for mutants worth having. Even then it was one kiss and Rogue realized she needed more than what Magneto could give her.
@@TheDegobunny She still hurt and completely disrespected him right in his face. Even before the breakup she was spending an uncomfortable amount of alone time with Magneto. Remy mentioned it himself in their last conversation, she played him for a fool because she didn't know what she wanted.
