I've seen a lot of portable SSD's come to live recently definitely a much better option than a normal external drive!

1GB per rand bull dust, Really disappointed honestly get no more than 480mbs on read and write, quality seems cheaper than a Chinese product, you can build a faster and better portable SSD

Hey At the time this video was made that was the price. Also I do speak to the transfer speeds. It's capped by Sata speed. At the moment you pay over 1000 for an hdd. At the time it was a great value buy owing to size and price and also physical size. Also it's not always about transfer speed but also transfer stability. You will find high fluctuations on hdd vs data SSD

@TechnicallyRui Where can you get a cheaper ~500gb SSD? For people (like me) who still have devices with usb 3.0, this device pretty much has a similar transfer rate than the usb interface would allow (640mb per second theoretical maximum, although more likely ~500mb per second). So far the best price per GB I could find at ~500GB.
