On the topic of social acceptance of different kinds of sexual and gender expression - I believe the oppression of these minorities is closely linked to patriarchy. Because the very possibility of the diverse expression is threatening to patriarchy. Any hierarchical structure gives rise to cultural norms that justify it, and LGBTQIA people don't fit into the rules of patriarchy. Same as with the church in Medieval Europe - atheists were persecuted mostly because their existence threatened one of the most important rules keeping the class hierarchy stable - that of the divine nature of the monarchies.

The US or the West will never give the elevated Rojava experiment any political or economic support as long as you don’t replace words and phrases that trigger Rightwinger and Rightwing democrats in the US; phrases such as socialism, international, egalitarianism, communal, any concepts that are associated with Marxist-Leninist ideology. Find synonyms. Freedom, vote, equality, grass roots, environmentalism are good.
