I just wanted to share my impressions about this 3D jigsaw puzzle that just so happens to be a functioning tabletop pinball machine.
As a person who appreciates a well designed instructional experience, I cannot begin to explain how impressed I was with the build instructions included with this kit.
If you like what you see the build is challenging but achievable, and you may end up needing to resort to some tools of your own.
there was one instance where I was tightening the nuts on the solenoid actuators and one was a bit stiffer than the others and it stripped out the wooden tools included.
But I have to stress that this was the only time that I ran into trouble with the various tools that were included in this kit.
The pinball machine has three actual solenoids that power the pop bumpers.
I was blown away at the engineering of this particular part of the model because it is so simple yet so effective.
There are also four electronic infrared sensors that detect ball movement along the three ramps.
You control the flippers with direct mechanical force so the harder you flip the further the ball travels.
