I struggled to get to grips with my FA-06 as the manual is only basic operating use. Watched this tutorial several times and with a little trial and error I have been punching out some kicking tunes. I recommend all new users to watch this video. Great keyboard with infinite possibilities. My only grief is that the sequencer screen is a bit small and not always easy to read. My old Gem S2 had a clearer display. Happy nonetheless. Working on a new CD compilation now
I read Reviews that someone are in trouble with the concept for the FA...."I LOVE IT!" - In that Review, someone tell, how stupid it is that you can not design a Sound and save'em straight inside the Maschine, for what the Hell are all this "Studio Sets" .... hahahaha... i must laugthing as i read that, i througth that Guy put the FA outside the package and start to play without to read the Manual...? That is "Roland" all Roland and Boss Hardware are Totally Designed in a Professional Way for Pro Users! There is NO Chaos inside, the is only "Structure" in a Way that you can walk through and when you know the possibillies, you realize that it is so easy to work with the FA and than you come to get your creativty and than your Mind will go open!!! Super Nice Maschine the FA, i Love that Thing!
Yes the Fa really is a great synth. But I don't think that it's ignored : it's one of Roland best sellers : on RU-vid, new fan/amateur/pro videos about the Fa are posted almost everyday from any country. Slowly but surely this synth is recognized all around the world as one of the best virtual analog synth ever. The problem is Roland communication right at the start : their demos and presentations use very short techno-like sounds and brief attacks that ANY rompler can perform. They should show to the world what 48 oscilators and 16 MFX playing at the same time can do! The video that made me buy a Fa is this one (and those are only 4 tones playing at the same time) : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2HeOmVctoNg.html
Ed i love your Videos, i have a FA 06, ...i'm a Guitar Player, i can't play Piano!!! But with such a Workstation it is Simple to Work with, i don't need to play perfect Piano... i learn a bit to play, but what i need to compose a Song, i can do it with "One Finger Technic" on that Workstation! And difficult Things are possibilly to handle with that "Arpeggio" Rhythem, or what..."Yes!" That works really easy - First i througth the Arpeggiotor inside the FA is boring ...but that is wrong, that Arpeggio is very Powerfull, i think so, with the Chord Function and the "Roll Function" and all the Styles ...wow, there are many Options for the Arpeggio, and the possibillity to "STORE" your own Arpeggios...Wonderful Maschine that FA-06 !!! - I I have in my DAW the "SynthMaster" VSTi, this VSTi have very nice Arpeggios, i try to build a similar Arpeggio inside the FA and want to build the Synth Sound near the "Synthmaster preset", i came close too but not the same! That is very Heavy to Create! Ed, i would to like a Video, were you explain how to "Create" Powerfull Arpeggios inside the "Microedit Tool" and when you can show us a possibillity "Finger Technic" to Trigger the Arpeggios in a good Powerfull Way!? How that works? Maybe for "Metal" and "EDM" "Maybe a Video were you Show us to Create a Arpeggio from the SynthMaster - The Preset calls: "ARP Docking Bassline KS" that Preset Sounds very Good, but i think, for a Profi it is not to complicated to build that up inside the FA...or Ed? - That is my Video Wish to you!
Thank you Roland. There are a couple of things that i had hoped would be covered here. In the (Track modify) mode I have tried to alter the transpose for either an individual track mainly to move it down a complete octave (example -12) also I have tried similar to the velocity and no matter how many times I have tried and executed it doesn't do anything. I have tried transposing all tracks just to see if it can be done. I have the latest update in the machine and I'm quite reasonably ok at managing other synths that do exactly the same thing, but for some reason these particular parameters are not working for me. I'm hoping that I have overlooked something, but did wonder if there could be a bug in the Synth. Any feedback would be greatly appretiated. Regards. Geoff Dean
I have the FA-08. It’s great for songwriting and building up arrangements. But I’m eyeing on the Fanthom 8 or even the Yamaha or Korg. Has anyone compared the FAs with Fantom in terms of sequence workflow?
Fantastic tutorials on your keyboards, and a fantastic keyboard too. Am I wrong....or for a keyboard player who wants to use complex, long, evolving looped backing tracks to improv over...the FA is a much better choice than the Akai MPCx???
That was quite convincing EdDiaz sir. I had one query regarding the keyboard. How do i access USB pendrive in FA-06. I have been unable to find any option by which i can access my USB. I am only able to access the SD card. Please can u help me figure out this issue?
How many minutes can i ''write'' on sequencer...1 min per song?or as soon as the sd memory is full? For example i want a sequence for 8 min song, can i do it ?and can i send to drummer the sequence + metronome and to my main output only the sequence? thank you
Can anyone help me with this I'm doing everything he does in the video and it worked great an hour later everything I play I out of sync or just not what I played and its really frustrating because everything was working fine before Anyone have any tips ????
Add a update please better sampling editing features. Also more pad options add easy 1touch undo function. add the same features or better than juno g.. Complete song structure without having to export come on roland..
+STUDIO1KINGS Yeah, that same old "linear recording" stuff has been old for years. The Alesis MMT-8 was the perfect tool for getting a complete song done.
