Theres was something about this guy that I liked watching his beat cookups, I follow a few producers from the south and something stood out for me with him and this video shows me what exactly it was, he is down to earth and comes across very polite and well spoken.
@@christophercolumbus8602 that's exactly y the got chopsquad to do this he been using the big fantom workstation for as long as ive been following his journey
@@maiastniki been watching videos to see what workstation to get. Not much has changed from what I see. Probably the reason the old boards are still expensive
WoW! incredible!! Roland got there money's worth having Chopsquad DJ demo the new Fantom 0. What a talented and knowledgeable musician, who has a working man's intuition and experience on how to get the most out of gear. Thank you sir, well done!!!
its in our blood whether we admit it or not i been wanting to learn to play legitimately and what sticks put to me the most or like the thing that pulls me in is when someone get on the piano at church. ive never been close with god but i cant deny the impact n influence of gospel music in rap and in me
@@maiastniki you gotta be better than Quincy and older artist, u just can't say somebodies old so I'm better than them lol that makes 0 sense, this dude ain't bringing nothing new to the game. Cuz u GOTTA bring something different to the game to be considered great IMO. I can't his beats from the next dudes
You did a great job bro. When these manufacturers make these workstations,a lot of players don’t use then because the tutorials and the sequencer itself are hard to follow and too complicated to use. I know for a fact that this won’t effect my creativity. Thanks again bro. It’s always good to have a backup sequencer.
The best video presentation of this new board I have seen yet. Amazing job and extremely well done Chop. This literally sold me for sure on this synth. Thank you. Roland... are you listening???
Damn this is big. A Certified Platinum Hip-Hop Rap Producer , demoing a product on Guitar Center 🔥🔥🔥 i love to see this 🙏 would love to see London On The Track or Rogét Chahayed for the Korg Kronos or something
One of the best demostration videos I have seen in a long time, advanced in sound but simple in execution . Thank you brother and thank you Guitar Center.
Second time watching this video. This keyboard is beautiful. It looks like the best thing since the Korg Triton in 1999! Great sounding instruments, reminds me of a JV1080 (i'm old school). The sequencer and sequencer 'pattern' for the drums is next level! The faders is a sick idea too! I would like everybody to acknowledge there is just a power supply, and stereo output used. I only needed a mixing desk twenty years ago for all of my sound modules - these days it's just a MacBook with 3.5mm headphone jack for mixing and USB C to Amplifier if working on speakers, because all of the sounds are inside one device. A lot of guys still use dedicated mixing desks but listen to this keyboard! Everything is mixed down to stereo so this really makes sense. You can make a full beat and record the vocals right into this machine. I am impressed!
This board seems real intuitive, I'm team Roland been using them for over 40 years, so I'm already halfway in the door, this demo took me over the top! Great job chop
this is an extremely powerful keyboard. And that's not just me being a roland fanboy, it's really a synthesizer first. the sequencer has a learning curve, but it's pretty smooth still. TR rec is genius. Where this keyboard shines though, is interfacing with a computer. As long as you have a DAW (you can probably use a hardware mixer/recorder too) you can track everything out straight through USB. all 16 tracks. Incredible.
I work at a theatre and this gives a whole new meaning and use for the Roland than live rock and alternative music I hear being played on these keyboards.
Wow this is so good, can saved me time to hook into an audio interface and daw to record/ study a phrase or loop. The team did a good research abt what composing musicians need.
@@marvin469 I’m trash lmao - you literally have to practice everyday . I learned like 5 songs - within a week I lost them all because I didn’t practice . But also life gets in the way lol
That was a very good video. Well explained and your workflow is awesome! Respect! I run an Integra 7 through Cubase and I love it. It's basically the same workflow. The only thing stopping me from buying this right now is I already have the sounds. I also have the Zen-Core sounds from my Roland account.
Hello Ed, do you think the 500$ extra or worth the product vs the fa 08 ? does the axial library will work as the same with your little easter eggs on board or is it gonna be much "pay for new extension" as it the already the case to get JP 8 engine and other synth ? in term of workflow fa08 looked very complex, especially with the tone editing section, what do you think master ?
@@Moulymusic my guess is this board is replacing the fa series. Between the two this board is definitely the way to go is my guess. The way sequencing is done as changed. I would say probably even better. I like the categorical modular way things are done these days.
This video convinced me to buy the Fantom-0 from my local guitar center after watching the first 8:30. I had the original Roland FA76 (the OG one, from the late 90s/early 2k) for many years and this new keyboard hit so many nostalgic points for me I just HAD to get it. I LOVED my FA76 and how it handled recording/looping/track composing, it made it so easy for me to compose and just suited my style. I was on the fence years ago between getting a yamaha MOXF8 and the Roland FA08 and eventually went with the Yamaha due to my preference for it's weighted keys, and piano, acoustic, string, and brass sound quality. But even after owning it for the last 5 years I still have no clue how to use 85% of the capabilities of that keyboard (it's not very intuitive, and is primarily intended to be interfaced/used with CUBASE rather than as a stand alone composing instrument). When I saw how incredibly well built and intuitive this new Roland Fantom keyboard is, on top of it having all the incredible features of the Fantom line (16 pads, the new drum sequencer cuz like holy crap that was amazing) and the best/latest sounds from Roland that I would say are easily on par or better than MOXF8 I just had to jump on it and get it. I was originally seriously looking at buying the Roland Fantom G8 (which I've absolutely adored for the longest time, and would go to my local guitar center every weekend for YEARS just to play on it until they took it off the floor), but I'm so glad I did some more research when I was finally ready to take the plunge because I found out Roland had released a new model, and this new Roland Fantom-0 just absolutely sings to me.
Damn 😮. This felt like..... a train came rolling up, slows downs just enough for you to grab the rail...... then hang on for the ride of your life - LoL. Nice video !! 👍🏽
need more synth n hardware peddlers reaching out to more black producers and composers cuz i dont get how the biggest user base the most under represented when it comes to how producers make music today and what they actually use n not a tech demo from someone who's either one of the guys who made the product or someone who makes music OUTSIDE Of what most people come to these demos to look for. a proper point of reference for artists who create music like this. mix it up every so often this stuff helps more than someone like andrew huang who creates music on a whole different end of the spectrum w his demonstrations something relevant and on point is what we need sometimes if im interested in a product i gotta be interested in the sounds and i guess be captured by it n most of the time i dont get a good idea of a product when its only edm n other electronic artists doing demos
Can I just ask, would it be possible for you to do a tutorial on how to arrange a complete song with verses, chorus, bridge etc? What you created was great, it would be fantastic to see how this could all be put together in a real song. Thanks.
Excellent video. But what get's me is that you can tell how Chopsquad is used to holding a blunt when he plays. His left hand automatically goes into a blunt holding position 6:00.
