good demo, nice tips about auditioning sounds while moving around the room. great set up. love the table for your controller. looks solid! i do wish the integra could use the vintage sounds roland just released for the new jupiters.
I just ordered the Integra 7. I have a Yamaha MOTIF XF8. But thinking of going over to Nord keyboards. Because nord gives u updates for free of all sounds created in future. No other company does this
What is the best controller on the market today. I was thinking of buying a Jupiter 80 and use it with a Integral 7. Would I have just as much power just using a highend controller with just the Integra 7. With the Jupiter 80 I guess I could layers more sounds while using the Integra 7.
This video is about the Integra-7, its quality of sound, its practicality and they're response to dynamics and control, rather than the controller he is using. It dosen't look like one of the newer Kurzweil's so chances are its like an 'old pair of slippers'. He has other old Roland gear too (probably other non-Roland gear too), so would that make his attatchment to the Kurzweil fake too? I would try Integra-7, with any midi controller you choose. It's my opinion that most will be impressed.
He is not covering the kurzweil. His set-up is like that and accidentaly the Kurzweil was covered because some stuffs he needs are on top. i havea roland fp8 i used as controller and on top of it theres a motif rack and also an xv-5080 rack. And its more convenient coz its on top of the board
The stabilty and safeness from a hardware box is hard to beat, even do VST's are durable these days. Well. 10 seconds turns into minutes in a working day... minutes becomes hours per month., time is money... if you are making a living out of your music than its important. But for hobbiest, i will go for a VST's... but even do i want this got damn machine, so sleek and smooth with hardware.
Good question. Roland likes it to talk and then to show you sounds, where you think "Why should I buy these old JV sounds?" and hides the drum kits, the super natural voices, all this stuff.
I think it's amusing, at least, that he talks about how vst's and samplers take time to load - while you can spot an open NI Kontakt on the screen behind him :-) Anyway, if he's in a studio and not infront of an audience in a live show - why does it bother him to wait 10 seconds for a huge string section sample to load up? Is he on a hurry?
If you were expecting to hear this piece then you need to learn how to properly read first. The video have a lot of talk ..thats because its an INTERVIEW and not a product review. Description reads; "Television, film, and video game composer Sean Murray talks to Roland about the INTEGRA-7". It wasn't that hard after all reading before watching and commenting right?
Sean did you ever think of teaching students how to do the work that you do? Even if you had an internet course for students so they can start their own business!
I wanted to throw up every time he kept on flogging the iPad. Apple and its products are pure evil. Is a Windows 7 compatible editor available for the Integra-7? (yes, I know Windows 10 is the latest version of Windows, but it is pure evil crap as well - I speak from experience - I use it every day - Windows 7 is better).
It will work without the ipad, I'm pretty sure it is possible to do almost everything the ipad app does using the control panel if you don't mind having to dive through menus. But yes there are also Windows based editors for the Integra 7 and I think Windows 7 was the most current operating system when the Integra 7 came out. I'm thinking of saving up to buy a used Integra 7 but I don't mind doing everything from the control panel.
5:06 *dramatic pause* EVERY genre of sound *camera zooms in* ... Please Roland, spend less on advertisement and make your products affordable. Nobody wants to spend 1000€ on an electronic drum that has visible bolts on the fucking drum head.
It's not crap, it's actually an expansion on the XV-5080 and has both all the stock JV/XP/VX sounds and all the SRX expansion board sounds built in as well as loads of newer Supernatural sounds from various Roland instruments of the mid 2000s right up to 2012. It's cool that Roland made a modern version of the XV-5080 and also added new stuff to it in addition to what you would get on an XV-5080.
