I've had one for making one complete album and now on a second album, almost 7 months I guess. I've owned many many top of the line synths, Virus, Nord, Pro One etc. and I have more fun with the JD_XI than all of them.

Yes, absolutely... all melodies in any part will follow your chords.... as long as you have the latest firmware updated....in this case it was firmware version 1.51

Hi Fabio, thank you!. This synth only has 1 to 4 bars (Measures in length programmable) in pattern record mode, if you are playing it live then there is no limit to how many bars or measures you are playing as you see me in the video above, depending upon how fast or slow you play , you can essentially play two measures per bar or one measure for every two bars (or more) , however you want to play in live mode it's really up to you, especially using the interactive chord mode. Remember though the limit in pattern record mode is 4 bars per pattern, even though you can combine and trigger different patterns at different times by assigning 16 patterns to the 'favorites' pads on this keyboard. (and then triggering them in realtime while they are playing)

Hi, sorry I do not have any experience with the mininova, but from what I can see online I think I would prefer the JD Xi, it's really your personal choice and preference, one thing I know at least the Roland has 129 voice polyphony, which is a lot more than the mininova's 18 note voices. from the specs I read online anyway. Hi Nathan, thank you for the compliments.... The piano was simply by itself, one of the patches, with some added delay and reverb, and yes I was in Interactive Chord mode, so all I had to do was hold the chords, thanks again, basically I was just trying to show the folks here that after the firmware update, it is possible to use this keyboard as a sort of an arranger. BTW the fat strings were just one of the preset patches in the strings section. To everybody else out there, you can program bass and chords and even lead using just one track by itself, just by changing octaves and dubbing over the same loop . (this lets you circumvent the four track limitation)

@@gerimayawhyte154 yes, as long as you have a midi interface on any instrument.... it can be triggered or controlled... :-)

@@a2roland are you sure? I saw a video with someone plugging in a PRS guitar and pressing the autoplay button and it working. He never mentioned having a midi interface on his axe nor did he have one that I noticed...

Hi Daniela. You are welcome.... each part on this synth retains it's own Volume/Level setting and can be adjusted by simply turning the 'AMP/ENV' dial level up or down.... just remember whichever part you have selected at that time when you turn this dial up or down the synth would remember the volume setting for that part only. For you to choose and select another part to change the level up or down in relationship just simply choose the next part and then turn the same dial up or down. ( as far as I know the jd-xi remembers volume mix once you turn it on. When you power it down I think it goes back to 100 percent volume level on all parts again) Hope this helps. 🙂
