you'll get over it, hell time just keeps speeding up from here you' just stop looking at time in decades and start looking at it like omg i'm going to die eventually
Hi, As the keyboard has MIDI out you could connect it to an external soudn module (such as the Nord Rack) and control those sounds with this keyboard. The keyboard cannot support vstis, they are a computer format.
Hi, It depends on how seriously you want to take learning the synth. If you think it will be longer term get this one definitely. If not perhaps try the MicroKorg or Waldorf Blofeld.
Hi, You'll need an audio interface. Depending what connections your computer has try the E-mu 0404 USB 2.0, or the Presonus Inspire 1394 for firewire connections.
I've connected a midi usb keyboard to a Juno D because there are several dead keys on the Juno. Everything works fine..plays performances, patches, knobs affect the output sound...but when I select the [chord memory] or [arpeggio/phrase] button the sound is unaffected. This was the main incentive for the setup as I really like playing around with the [chord memory] or [arpeggio/phrase] buttons. However they still work when I play the faulty Juno keyboard. What settings do I need to make if any? Thanks Dave
A workstation would allow you to layer different elements of a song and give you greater control over sequencing. Most keyboards will feature a split function allowing you to play two different sounds with you right and left hand. The Korg M50 may be worth looking at…
Hi The sounds from this synth come from onboard - you do not need any other hardware to trigger sounds. However, you will need an external amplifier to be able to hear yourself playing it.
Hi, If I understand you correctly then you want to use the arpeggiator to output a midi signal whilst using the synthesis engine on the Juno? If so then I'm afraid you can't do that with this synth. You could always pre-program a midi part or generate an arpeggio on Ableton which you can then send to different instruments. Alternatively you can use the 16 part midi sequencer on the Juno to build up backing tracks that way. Hope that helps
Please i want help I have this ..Roland Juno D.. But he did not work well with Medi and always remains a constant voice Please help and explain to me how it works well with Studio fl
I'm into M83, Grizzly Bear, The pains if being pure at heart, etc and I want an affordable and easy to use synth...What should I buy? I like the sound of ambiental strings and spacy noises...help!
How can you play different parts simultanously on the Juno D? The section in the manual which refers to it only tells how to pick parts in a performance, but doesn't tell you how to play them together at the same time.
i'm not sure i mentioned Arpegio, i don't use any vstis just trigger playbacks in ableton, all i need is 2 octaves to do this & the rest to play the built-in patches of Juno-D so in another words half of the Juno will trigger midi from my laptop with my left hand & the 2nd half i will play a juno patch with my right hand. do you think i can do this??? much tx
Here is a Cardinal topic for me & critic for my upcoming gig with my laptop. i'd like to split the Juno D to Midi triggers on left but built in audio sounds on right!! is it possible?? i'm using Ableton live but i believe the split has to come from Juno. has anyone tried it before, i can't find anything relates to that on the manual just plain Audio split.

You might notice, the Blofeld aswell as the MicroKorg are virtual analog synthesizers. The Juno is a Workstation/Rom based Synth. Hard to compare, they aim at 2 different worlds.
It is not a half ass synth (a little limited yes.., but not half ass. It's a BUDGET synth). The current Juno line does EXACTLY what the ENTIRE Juno series was designed to do. It provides a very cost effective synth for musican's based on where we are TODAY with modern synths and the types of sounds you find on them TODAY. You CAN'T compare this to the SH-201 because one is a VA synth and the other a "Rompler". They're two totally different keyboards designed for different applications.
i have a question I was going to buy the juno d, but now I see the di and gi now are these upgrades for the juno d or totally difrent keyboards keep in mind , that i liked how easy it is to record on the d, would you recommend one of the others or should I just buy the d thank you
This is a great "beginners" keyboard. It's got some really decent sounds & you can pick one up for around $250 on Ebay. It's a budget keyboard, but it doesn't have budget sounds. It's also really great for a 2nd/backup gigging keyboard. It's cheap, smallish, lightweight, etc. If you're playing out at bars & you don't want to expose a $3,500 - $4,000 keyboard to a bunch of drunks (who won't be able to tell the different between a Juno-D & a Fantom G anyway) then the Juno-D is perfect.
I have this, and exept the acoustic piano, the sounds here is great for the price. Not the best keybed for pianoplayers, but its decent for the price. I only miss a program wheel on this
Hi, Yes I think it would be suitable. You may want to look at the Korg X50 or, if your budget allows, any of the Access synths as they have a real industrial character.
I saw the videos and its awesome but seems sooo expensive! I found this other great analog synth and its exactly what I needed...Yamaha ss30! its like heaven!
I have a JUNO-D, i have a MIDI interface from ROMI/O but i cant seem to send and MIDI info through the MIDI OUT... I've followed the steps in the manual about "adjust keyboard transmit channel" to no avail... how can i know if its the MIDI out that is bust? or the MIDI interface? because the interface does send info but doesn't receive.... going nuts here!
My Roland Juno D value button does not work. Due to extreme outdoor usage. Is there an alternative way to be able to use the patches again? Hope you'll reply. :)
Hi, 2nd Hand is not a bad place to start at all. If you take precautions and make sure it is in very good condition (at least as advertised) then you may actually be able to get more keyboard for your money than buying new.
@ThePoorhillbilly yeah i am going for a roland a500 and a akai LPD8 as soon as i get my hands on 300€...yeah very good synth i'd say, 150€ here (europe -_____-) and yeah it's got the possibility to link controllers and much more...anyways as i need a pad thingie, thy lpd8 will do the job....much better than that yamaha thing :s
Still looking for a video which will show me how this synthesizers sounds better than my retired keyboard PSR-530. I know it has some synthesizer features that any keyboard hasn't but I would like to hear some beatifull synthetic sound. My first 10 minutes with 530 sounded better than this video.
Hey guys, i'm thinking of buying a synth. I want to make music, with some heavy influence on daft punk...what is the best, and, reasonable price synth out there that lets me play with the pitch, x/y grid, and so forth?
@Metallicafanfrom93 I don't like the korg. something about the moog shit thats me wants to fucking throw up. I think Roland are pretty awesome, I lloked at the Juno G, Gi, too expensive. The Gaia is cool. The Juno Di looks awesome. Jundo D looks fucking awesome for some of the prices out there.
The Juno D is way more synth than the MM6. You get more poly and more synth power. The MM6 is a PSR arranger keyboard pretending to be a Motif. Its patterns are really styles. The MM6 has some nice sounds, but is VERY limited. It only has 32 note poly and probably half the synth power of the Juno-D. The Juno is built better too. The MM6 is more a preset machine than a synth because the patch editing is so basic. I don't think the MM6 is even capable of producing a mono patch and no portamento.
That is velocity, look for *Velo Sens Depth*, and *Velo Sens Ofs* in the patch menu. It's on page 47 of the owners manual. If those settings don't give you what you are looking for you might have a problem with the key contacts.
