At the 2016 NAMM Show, Roland was showing their Juno DS synths - the Juno DS61 & Juno DS88. Here's a quick demo from the show floor by product specialist Ed Diaz. From Synthtopia's 2016 NAMM coverage: www.synthtopia.com/content/tag...
Just used the DS88 keyboard at a friends daughter's birthday party and the ability to hook up a mic as well as play back music with the external input made this a game changer! No mixer needed! The kids had so much fun singing along to songs played off of RU-vid while I played along or showed them how to play along! Was originally just going to play a few songs for them at the beginning of the party but when I invited the birthday girl to come sing along to her favorite song...well, let's just say, the DS88 was the hit of the party! World class sounds and flexibility as a live or studio keyboard controller...love it! I've owned several Rolands since the 80's (1st synth was the Juno 106, and have owned an A-80, JD-800, VK-1000, JV 1080 as well as some other brands including Yamaha, Korg and Kurzweil...the DS-88 is as excellent value!
Hey Ed! You're awesome. sir. Your videos are always helpful and informative! Your assistance would be greatly appreciated: I cannot seem to find a video for the Juno-DS Tone Manager app. Have you done a video for that? If not, could you? It's not the most intuitive app so it could use your profound insight to shed some light on it. Very much appreciated! Thanks in advance, Paul
So great. Love mine. I'm portable now. I played on a pier last week. It was amazing. My rig is (not even on purpose!) the Roland Juno DS88, the Roland VT-4 and the Roland Cube Street EX. Add an iPad to that rig and you can do practically anything. Roland has given me geographic freedom for the first time without sacrificing feel or quality.
@@scottbirch968 Don't mind at all - I use the iPad for backing tracks and lyrics. I also have an iRig Blueboard, which gives me MIDI pedal control, and it runs via Bluetooth on the iPad as well.
Thank you, Ed Diaz, for the very informative-great-sounding demo! I definitely want a set of those headphones with the microphone attachment. I just purchased this keyboard today, the 88 key Roland DS from proaudiostar on sale new for $736. Any recommendations on what powered speakers I should use that won't break the bank?
Hello my name is Jerra Williams I have the Juno DS 76 keyboard and I'm having issue Everytime I turn the keyboard on the mic volume jumps up at the same time as I turn up my lower fader for the split is this a glitch or is there something mechanically wrong
Can you program each Midi Channel instrument up to 16, so that when you write a song on Cubase it plays 16 different simultaneous sounds from the Juno DS? How?
Ed mentioned that you can get 16 parts into your daw. Does this mean that the Juno is capable of exporting 16 audio tracks into your daw at one time? I haven’t been able to find a clear answer on this anywhere.
Tell everyone how sensitive the master volume knobs is. How difficult it is to get a stable volume using the master knob and the volume slider. How there is no easy to manage the ridiculous differences in volumes among different sounds.
43.5 lbs it states in the Description, not 35 lbs, which is it? The way it was jumping around during the Demo, makes me think you are right at 35 lbs. Nice demonstration!
2 questions: 1: How is the feeling of this keybed compared to RD pianos? 2: Does the mic input only have robot voices and such or does it have other vocal effects such as reverb/echo?
yes it does have reverb on mic input, though i have one, cant remember off hand, without checking, if it has delay/echo, it has seperate dedicated slider for mic volume.. dont know how keyboard feels compared to RD but does feel very good and very slightly better then my kronos 2
How about sustaining the previous sound, when im playing a piano and hit sustain pedal, in then ill change patch into rock organ the piano still sustaining, can not cut the previous patch.. Can possibly do that in korg kross.??2 seconds ago•
I bought Juno ds61 can you please tell me how to get Indian tone from Roland India I used world collection exp03 and its working fine from axial.roland .com but when I downloaded from Roland India bin file not detected Can you please help me to get Indian tone !!!!
Hi, does Roland (or anybody else) just make a simple keyboard with only a dozen "real gigging" sounds ? I don't need spaceship sounds or chipmunk sounds. I just need... 3 killer organ sounds for blues and jazz, 3 of the most used acoustic piano sounds, 3 of the most used electric piano sounds, and 3 realistic horn and brass sounds. Anybody ???
You might find the Dexibell range would best meet your wishes Mostly good basic sounds with V high quality pianos electric pianos and strings and pretty good blues organ Can download Soundfont 2 files So not cluttered with lots of weird useless sounds 81 memory saves to readily call up
I TRADED MY YAMAHA MX88 FOR THE ROLAND JUNO DS88. LET ME TELL YOU IM NOT MISSING THAT MX88 .... ROLAND QUALITY AND FADERS, SEQUENCER, AUDIO USB PLAYBACK AND MUCH MORE! PLEASE BUY THIS LOL :IM NOT A BEGINNER :
totaly aggree, had mine for almost 2 years now. also got 2 FA06's roland are the best, excepting if you also have a kronos 2 also like me. and im a seasoned player also, cheers
Ok lets look at what you're saying 1st up there are so many samples on the Roland site that are about twice as good as the Older Kurzweil ok they're only 16 bit but it depends on how the samples were recorded and I've gone through lots of them and they sound great certainly good enough for live and also studio. also this is Rolands budget line not their FA or above so considering the price they're pretty good value , you're also hearing it on RU-vid so it won't be the best quality which will also depend on what speakers you're listening to RU-vid on , so many things to take into consideration.
I’m 62 years old and although I know this is a presentation and time is short but I just didn’t understand some of the terminology used.??especially when talking about the pattern sequencer.MP3 files?just well over my head you need to keep it simple
