Great Scott! Always cool to see you introducing something here. Lots of jx users will love this as I recall in some of the synth talks this was a sought after feature.
Hi Scott , this is the best news about Roland Jupiter XM since you launched this product. Beside this this proves and shows us Roland Product Managers really listen their customers then send information to Engineering Team of Roland. You are really valuable man for Roland my Friend. Congrats 👏 If you bring this editor for ipados, with new iPad OS 15, Roland Customers will be huge happy. I think you agree with me::)
Hi, Scott. Thanks for the great Jupiter-X-Tutorials! Unfortunately I can't find the Jupiter-X-Editor after updating the Roland Cloud Manager (v3.0.1 - PRD-54307239B). There is no Library Button. 😞 Greetz from Germany!
NIce. With eveyrhing plugged in and switched on. Exactly how do I launch this editor? I have hunted high and low in the Roland Sound Clound app, my clicks only result in playing this video showing how great the editor is. For noobies like me, please, where do I click to launch the editor? It isn't in my computer's list of applications in the application list, but I see it in the roland cloud. In sound cloud it clearly states I have it installed. How is it launched?
The Fantom already has a lot of the editor screens built-in. The Jupiter's really needed this for deeper editing. The Choo-Choo music is exactly what I was shooting for!
@@scottberry6669 -As much as I like that 7” display, I would also like to use my 28” and be able to create Scenes from within my DAW, esp since the Fantom is not my PC controller.
Here here - pretty annoying that MC-707/101 users do not have a free editor, Zenology pro is not worth buying just to edit hardware. TR-8s/6s has its own editor so it seems strange that the MCs do not, Roland please don’t leave MC users out!
@@The-word-I-does-not-exist MC-707/101 are geared towards beat/pattern making fast, not sound design, so, I guess, all controls you need are in front of you. Beat makers rarely need anything more beyond attack/release time, filter cut off/resonance, LFO speed/amount and effects dry/wet controls. Buying real synth and adding to MC-707/101 not just will free your hands on sound design but also heavily expand sound palette. Honestly, there is no point of editing 'acoustic' Zen-core and XV-5080 patches in deep anyway. If you need a synth, buy a synth. Only one note, creating new sounds which makes sense isn't easy task, you better train yourself with free software synths before making a decision to spend money.
@@alicaramba7680 I have plenty of synths too, MC-707 has full synthesis but no editor or even proper patch storage for user patches, yes it has all the controls on the hardware for detailed edits but it is pretty laborious compared to using zenology pro or the jupiter x editor. It is marketed as having “deep synthesis” which arguably it does, but it is a shame there is no user patch storage and no software editor, given the price and the competition and other Roland products which do, like X, TR8s/6s etc.
If Jupiter -X would have 88 key, it would be just great like JUNO DS-88 is! It would be great to relese new update for Roland Juno DS 88, I like this synth and also like that roland update already best selling products. would like to download new sound to Juno DS, from roland axial website.
Hey there Scott! The graphics of the editor look out of the 80s. In Windows 10, it is NOT resizable...what a shame! Definitely a VST would have been better, just to use it in a DAW....
@@frankjuno8808 Hey there, mate. It is supposed to sound like the 80s because it emulates synths of the 80s, namely Jupiter-8, Juno-106, and SH-101, XV 5080 and some roland drum machines.
I wanted a xm but then I learned it doesn’t have real time recording like the jdxi..... and I don’t play the keys and I saw a video saying you have to go to the menu and punch it in
Build #320 doesn't seem to work. All I get is a "There is no Jupiter X Connected. Continue without connecting to Jupiter X?" It's plugged in... Then I get a Close Program "stopped working" box and that's all she wrote.
Make sure the Jupiter is updated to version 1.43 and also make sure you have the driver installed in your computer. If you tell me what OS you are using on your computer I can be more specific with help.
@@scottberry6669 I did update to 1.43. I also tried both USB driver vendor and generic. Which one should be used? OS is Windows 10 (10.0.19042). Thanks!
@@Castcasarius the USB driver mode needs to be in "Vendor" and make sure that if you change this setting to WRITE it then power off and back on the Jupiter.
@@scottberry6669 I did try this now. Restarted both PC and Jupiter. Tried different USB ports. Checked that Jupiter can be used in Ableton as an audio device. I still get the same error message (with "3- JUPITER-X" selected as both input and output). Strange?! I have no other issues with the Jupiter-xm and USB.
When will you start to make your instruments to be class compliant MIDI without propriatary drivers? Everyone does it! Why can't I use my Fantom G6 with Win10 and the newest macOS? Planned obsolesence? That editor looks like a homebrew generic toolkit editor done by a noob. Is it at least resolution independent? And why does the Jupiter-X have no LEDs to show which knobs / buttons / switches have a function for the selected synth model? A printable cheat sheet? Really?
