As a jv-1080 owner i can relate to this synth so much..it also has a groovebox miniak feel to it...i might trade up my jv for this as it has all the JV's sounds and architecture

Can we have an explanation of what sounds starting at 4:03? What patch is it? What synthesis engine is using? Why are you holding that C key down? Can the size and speed of the grains be manipulated? Etc. it sounds wonderfully granular and would like to know what capabilities this synth offers on that realm. Most granular timbres are sample-based. Few synths lend themselves to do this... the Microfreak supposedly has a “granular” engine but sounds rather basic to me.

Hi there, that sound is the factory scene 03-09 called "Gater Sines". To be short: It's based on the Jupiter Model and uses the MFX "BPM Looper" which sounds like Granular synthesis ... but no, the Jupiter-Xm don't offer real editable Granular Synthesis so far. I'm holding down the lower C because of providing more bass ... that's all. Hoping I've been helpful. Cheers, M.
