I'm always glad to see another upload from you Stefan! The knife as you say is a very clean looking, and has a lovely smooth form. There no edges to catch even when it's closed
Very interesting knife, and an especially nicely arranged intro sequence. Thank you for staying so current with European knives, and for sharing your information.
Tartan trousers, I believe. Not shirts. UK punks wore tartan trousers, sometimes with bondage straps attached. They were probably first sold in Malcolm Mclaren's & Vivienne Westwood's shop.
What an excellent video! During the intro I could literally smell and taste both the food you were preparing and the drinks you were pouring. A true work of magic!
Absolutely lovely knife, one of your nicest ones. My Maserin Gourmet is similar in use case and this one is even more gorgeous. Also technically a great review video !
I recently found your youtube cannel, and I love it, very handy reviews of real quality knives, thank you for these videos and for sharing your knowledge of knives, greetings from Galicia, Spain
Thank you for this excellent review. I think this knife is absolutely beautiful, and I hope to get my hands on one someday. In the meantime, I'll be watching this video from time to time to whet my appetite for beautiful cutlery.
Roland Lannier Thanks for replying! That sounds a lot more sturdy than just a bamboo spacer :) Again, wonderful work and I'm looking forward to more designs by you.
You've been sorely missed, Stefan so it's a real treat to see a new video by you. That knife is truly a thing of beauty but if I were ever in a position to buy one, it would have to be a 'safe queen'. I could never bring myself to use it. I hope we'll see some more videos very soon. Regards, Mark.
This is actually one of the very few knives which are absolutely legal in Germany according to §42a. It is not possible to open it with one hand (even with gloves, like some "especially meticulous " policeman try to do here), at least on my exemplar detent is pretty good. Quality is top notch, real masterpeace.
@@StefanSchmalhaus I suppose it depends on concrete exemplar, due to the fact that this is custom knife, not a mass production ("von der Stange"). Mine has such a strong detent, that even gloves don't help :)
@@StefanSchmalhaus This is also very individual and depends on gloves (material). Some add more grip, others makes things even worse, you're right. Just to make it clear, I'm referring to those, which are used by LEO (Law Enforcement Officer)
I actually designed it with that thing in mind. You can tell the cops it's a 2 hands opening knife but if you train a little, you might be able to open it with one.
Beautiful knife! Love the name of it too. Roland appears to be a knife maker virtuous. Fantastic video Stefan, as always. I always enjoy the food slicing intros.
Beautiful. I've missed your videos and I hope you do more. I understand you must have been busy compiling your book and I'm certain I speak not only for myself: the RU-vid knife community has missed you!
Moin Stefan, I enjoyed the comeback of the Schmalhaus' video reviews on RU-vid. Perfection to the point. Well done. When I saw the first pictures of the Punk, I thought it must be a Perceval. It seems, Perceval raised it's own competitor. No doubt, it is a very well made pocket table knife. But I would prefer a more compact version for my daily cutting tasks beside the table. I'm going to stick to my Le Français, as my table knife of choice, for a while and will use my smaller pocket knives for everything else. But it is worth to keep an eye on Roland's upcoming work. That's for sure. Thank you.
Another excellent review Stefan. This is an extremely elegant knife, and I like the tartan Micarta, but the bamboo back spacer looks wrong to me. I will have to look at the other versions... I like this knife :-)
Some of my favorite eats there. One mild criticism...where's the cheese! ;-) I do really like the looks of that knife. That blade looks very versatile for everyday tasks. Another excellent review!
Thanks for stopping by, Andrew! I didn't expect you to like this type of knife. Are you tired from seeing all the same titan and G-10 monstrosities? ;-)
I have too many knives and your videos are dangerous because of the temptations they create. But, since I found them I am addictted. They are so beautifully made, as beautiful as the knives themselves. I am slowly working through your past videos and trying to keep my credit cards hidden :-). Thank you for making such lovely videos and introducing us to so many fine examples of the European cutlery world.
Beautiful and creative and playful knife design. I like it very much. It is very very expensive though when looked at through the eyes of the Canadian Dollar! Sadly it might stay outside the realm of affordability for me. Which as a knife fan, a "Foodie" and a punk...saddens me more than just a little. Thanks for the review!
So glad to see another outstanding review, we have missed you. WOW! What an absolutely beautiful knife, the bamboo tube and silk pouch puts it over the top for me anyway. This one is going on my must have list. Hope to see more from you soon Stefan.
Great review! Good to see a review from you Stefan, as usual, it is worth the wait! The knife is very stylish. Truly handy great to have on one's person for daily use. Likable and good looking, as a tool it hits the mark for me!
Wow, Stefan, einfach nur geil! Also, ich mein das Messer, die Verpackung, das Video - und natürlich, ganz allgemein: dass Du wieder back on track bist ;-) Danke und LG, Robert
Vielen Dank, Robert!
Moin, Stefan! Loved the review, love the knife...! Every now and then it seems a certain individual puts out the highest level, both in artistry and craftsmanship, and raises the bar for his successors. Roland Lannier seems to be one of these individuals. Thanks a lot for another brilliant review! Andi
***** Great pleasure - as always! (slightly edited my first comment... Did a few things simultaneously, so I didn't even notice the repetitive crap I had written. Sorry for that!)
***** I am not sure we can call it a channel, not in the way you are doing it. I just dropped two videos so far and they are no match compared to yours!
Love your videos man. Interesting knife. You should look up a knife maker named Aaron gough. He has a RU-vid channel, his videos show him making all his knives.
LG, benjamin:)
Hi Stefan, tolles Video mal wieder ! Ich hatte das Messer schon auf dem Schirm, leider ist es mir nur etwas zu teuer... Ich schaue daher mehr in Richtung Actilam T3, und freue mich auf dein Video Grüße Peter
It's great to have you back Stefan. As a Scot living in Scotland it was nice to see the nod in our direction. Any idea when your book will be published in English?
Pinki2019 $300 of what dollars? US, Canadian, Australian? - You see, this is the problem with mentioning prices in my reviews. I have viewers from many different countries. And not only prices change over time, exchange rates do as well.
