I’m an 80’s kid all we had was Roland, Jimmy, Bill Dance, and Jerry McGinnist Saturday morning on espn y’all youngsters today are spoiled with all this good fishing content you have access to
Too many distractions for kids watching fishing content nowadays. It was so much better back then IMO as a kid. They do way too much vloging and not enough fishing and dad jokes, lol.
It’s ruined a ton of great spots in my local area being broadcasted to millions of people. I haven’t touched my freshwater rods in over 5 years. Striper fishing where I live in Nj is one of the best spots in the country to catch 40-60lbers in the spring time. I don’t have it in me to take a whole day to catch a few teeny tiny large mouth bass that are overfished by everyone just to throw it back and say it’s for sport. I do it so I can eat for free.
Born in 71. Grew up watching this guy. We had a black and white TV and could only get 3 channels. Saturday mornings he would be on. Dance and Jimmy also. Used to love Saturday mornings. Then cartoons would come on. lol
Nothing like fishing and telling life stories, Roland is a wealth of knowledge and great guy, I did Get the pleasure of meeting and talking with him at a fishing show like four years ago. Total respect for him still fishing as much as possible at his age. 🙏
Dang what an honor that was.. Fishing with a legend for sure!! 4 hall of fames is awesome!! I remember as a kid back in the EARLY 80’s watching him and Bill Dance.. Awesome to see he’s still out there enjoying it all these years later!! I’m in the Police Officer Hall of Fame down there in Florida.. Pretty awesome place to go visit. Great organization for helping wounded officers!! They even helped with some of my son’s college money. Great video @RobTerkla !! Stay safe down there brother!! And Stay blessed!!
Your videos are awesome. It was great to see you fish with Roland. I drew up watching. I have never used any googan gear. I can't wait to pick up some. I am just getting into bass fishing
I live a few miles from this marsh absolutely love fishing out there super cool to watch this legend and rob get together and just enjoy it and talk, sharing stories with eachother. Awesome video.
Roland Martin used to be my Saturday and Sunday morning ritual as a kid. The guy is a legend. Always got me pumped to hit the dock in front of my parent's lake house and catch some hawgs and monster crappie.
love him and bill dance. when he drove the bought with the trailer still on it i died. funniest thing ever. drove the boat and trailer back to the boat
Crazy seeing how far you've come Rob, I remember watching you do swimming pool lure videos when you first started and had like 1000 subs. Life is crazy, congrats bro!
Rolland is awesome... Florida angler here, fished a lot of the same lakes and seen him out all the time... fishing side by side. Also love seeing HOKAs on your feet! I work for HOKA out in Oregon. Great Vid rob!
Great video.. I used to love the helicopter lures. I used to love using them in the banjo minnow. My buddy didn't think I'd catch anything on them but I have.. 🎣🎣🎣
I remember watxhing Roland Martin and Orlando Wilson, Bill Dance and the Bassmasters on Sundays with my dad. Such great memories. We saltwater fished and did vew bass fishing trips. Mainly we caught bluegill and sunfish for bait and never had any success in tne lakes we fished. My dad coukd get them on lures, worms, amd spinner baita. My dad uses to catch speckled trout with a spinmer bait. People started using a lure behind a float and pop, but we used Mirrrolures and zometime Loves lures amd sometimes freshwater ztuff and it worked for reds, snook and trout, we got a grand slam a few times.
Rob 👋🥰. I had to move in with my mom who is 81 due to dementia. She was just as spry a couple of years ago. After going through it all I'll probably kick the bucket if I don't go before her😢 Take care of yourself y'all. Just ordered a googan 2 piece go to casting rod. I really hope I get to use it soon.
Im from northern Wisconsin so when he said Hayward, WI that was super neat haha didnt think anyone caught big fish up here that id ever see videos of them still enjoying the sport!
Not the craziest video I’ve ever seen. BUT!!! I throughly enjoyed y’all’s conversation, continue to do videos like this mixed in. Definitely one of my favorites
I grew up watching him and all the other greats in the 80s and 90s i was born in 1980 and always loved fishing because of them i had subscriptions to in fisherman and Midwest outdoors starting at 8 years old for birthday presents that's what i wanted one year and continued getting them for years back then sure was no Internet available or RU-vid
Mount Rushmore of TV fishing. Roland Martin, Babe Winkleman, Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Jimmy Houston, Al Lindner, Jerry Mckinnis. You can’t have one without the other because they all were doing it without the technology that is out there today.
Hell yea Rob! Would be cool for you to go fish with Bill Dance so you can complete the trifecta(assuming you already fished with Jimmy). Hope all is well bud!
65 lb test brakes if the angle of the tungsten weight is just in the right position it shears it off just thought I'd tell you from experience. And that was probably one of the greatest natural bass fishing videos I've watched in a while ,with the legend !!
Enjoyed the lack of camera grabbing and left it as a 1-on-1 experience with you Mr Martin, asking him to talk about his stories and leaving us to hear about them. RIP to that 65lb line done by that mud fish lol
I know exactly where you’re at and that place is pretty dang good. I actually gator hunted that area and they have some monsters in there. I bet it was an awesome day fishing with the legend.
