Thanks for keeping the sound list on the screen along with the LED on the JV-1010, so we could know which patch was being played. Great video. Thanks for sharing with us!!!!
190-200 especially nice sounds! Alot of good sounds though. Considering getting this card for my XV5080 solid video, thank you PanoramaCircle, appreciate the extensive video,
It is really better to get JV-1010 than Session board alone which costs around the same nowadays :)) plus you'll get the whole synth engine of JV series and patches of JV-1080/2080 in one small box. ;)
That's what I would do if I wanted the Session board, I have the JV-1080 fitted with 3 SRJV expansion boards as only 3 of the 4 slots work plus 2 of the SO PCM1 cards. I do also have the SC-88 Pro and many of the 88 Pro's instrument sounds were sampled from the Session board which was part of the reason I didn't bother with either the Session board or the JV-1010 but I may reconsider it as a future purchase.
JV1010 used to be a hidden gem, but since you get all the sounds from JV1080, JV2080 aswell as the session board, AND the DAC of the XV5080, Its a better product than any of the JV1080 and JV2080. Its better to edit the sounds from a midi edtiro than the screen anyway. Also another hidden gem is the modules Roland released from their expansionboards. I have the Vintage Synth expansion synthmodule, and its called Roland M-VS1. I got it for $50. Good luck finding the vintage synth expansion for $50 :D Also the M-VS1 contains drumsets, like the 808, 909 and CR78, They also released the Dance expansion card, the Orchestra, and I think one with GM sounds.
Sounds good @36:11 and being that it has some orchestral sounds on the board what’s your opinion on the Orchestral 1 & 2 expansion boards ? & if you have heard them which expansion board do you think sounds the best out of the two boards?
I currently have a JV-1010 sitting here on my desk... Unfortunately I seem to have some trouble selecting different sound-banks in perfomance mode for every channel. This makes me nuts, as this is not the first synth I have and I never had trouble selecting the according bank/patch-combination within a multitimbral midi-setup (Setting up channels from within the DAW). I am the second (or maybe third?) hand owner of the module. All user-patches contain different material than what should be there acc. the manual. Maybe the JV-1010 is just misconfigured? I already attempted a factory-reset to no effect?!? Anyone more experienced with the JV-1010 willing to help me out? What I want to achieve is (using Midi from inside the DAW obviously, not by rotating the knobs on the front...): Channel-1: Bank:81/0 ("PR-A"), Patch: 001 "64voicePiano" Channel-2: Bank:81/1 ("PR-B"), Patch: 002 "Dist Gtr 2" Channel-3: Bank:81/2 ("PR-C"), Patch: 003 "Piano 3" Channel-4: Bank:81/3 ("PR-D/GM"), Patch: 004 "Player’s EP" ... No, this is not because I like this combination of sounds so much ;-) but because I hope to learn how to do it. I have set it to performance mode, currently, because acc. to the manual the above setup should be possible in there. But when I try to change a patch for channel 1 it also changes it for channel 2? But only sometimes (== for some patch numbers?!? What?? I'am lost...)
The solution was to do a full factory-reset... now it works... (and all the hardcore-techno-stuff on the user-bank is gone, too... which can be considered another plus...)
@@StefanFendt Im curious /with my 1010 sitting on a shelf/, were you able to program a Multi-mode performance easy on the unit? Everyone seems to use an editor.
@@StefanFendt yeah im trying to find an iPad MIDI controller editor. Patchbase isnt working 4 me. and TouchOSC seems to invlove using a PC and 2 other programs lol
@@ajcloribel9975 That's the number of the expansion card ("Session") that contains these sounds. IIRC they're only built-in in the JV-1010 and XP-30, so for all other Roland JV/XV synths you need that card if you want these sounds.
