I love the different cymbals on different zones. This module is very flexible for sure. Best module for this price period. Demonstrated by a wonderfull drummer!
I bought the TD17KVX a few weeks ago and couldn't agree more! It's fantastic for the price. Very nice playing feel on the snare, toms and the cymbals. Sturdy rack. I don't mind that the rack is a compact model, for me it's just fine. It's so much fun to play! I bought the kit from drum-tec and got the extra kits and snares package which sound awesome. Everyone at drum-tec has been super helpful & fast 2-day delivery in the Netherlands (granted, that's next door to Germany but still impressive). So I'm totally happy with the TD17! Thanks to Ralf for his incredible drumming, keep up the good work, looking forward to more videos!
You guys always make the best videos. It's really nice that you guys offer these kits and the snare samples for free with the purchase. These kits sound a lot better than the factory presets for sure. Great drumming as always.
Thanks Shaun! :) keep in mind, that the sounds from this demo are presets from the drum-tec Live Sound Edition, which you get for free when ordering your module from drum-tec directly. Kind regards!
This set is like worth every penny! It’s on my want list because the price too! Hell I won’t even have to try to customize any sounds other than volume and EQ. All your sounds are excellent!
Hey EJ, thank you very much! What you see in the background is our drum-tec West showroom (which actually is the smallest showroom we have in Germany...) :-O kind regards!
I just found out the TD-17 and as I am considering getting the Jam kit from Drum-Tec. The sound pack you released, sounds awesome and gives the opportunity to try out such timeless drum sets like the Yamaha recording (of which I use the snare in my physical drumset) Pearl Masters and even a Slingerland! Also, 5:23 and on .... OMG. Awesome performance on the drums, I cannot wait the time to get back to practicing! I'd love to play the Jam set and get to experience it, gotta plan a trip to Germany! Awesome work, keep it up!!
Hey Bouniol, thank you! :) looking forward to welcome you in one of our showrooms! If you have any futher questions upfront or want to evaluate shipping possibilities, you can alway get in touch with our service team through info@drum-tec.de! Kind regards
:-D Hi Todd, the room you are seeing in the background is the drum-tec West electronic drums showroom, it´s not my private drum collection! ;) Kind regards
@@drumyogi9281 :-D Hey Jason, well actually I am always surrounded by drum-tec kits. I have one at my recording studio, then one floor above this studio is the drum-tec West showroom (that you always see in the video´s backgrounds), and finally I also have a kit at my home studio. So there´s no escape... No seriously, I use those in every day music production in the studio(s) a lot hooked up to sample libraries through midi. Makes work so much easier, quicker & more flexible than recording my acoustic kits for many projects. Kind regards!
Thanks to this Drum-tec upgrade, the TD-17 is now a bargain, rock solid performance, amazing response, and thankfully a decent snare sound. As stock, you would not want to buy the TD-17 as the snare sounds are just awful. I can't believe Roland released this unit with such horrid bright fake sounding snare sounds. Well done Drum-tec for turning the TD-17 into a gem.
Since I'll probably not gonna be able to buy one of these any time soon, I came for stickings... So, Ralf can you please write down just some of those monster fills you do for the opening of every new set? I watched all kinds of drum tec videos just for your shreding..xD
Hey Bryant, the Live Sound Edition only comes with the purchase of a TD-17 module/kit from drum-tec. But there are various other Sound Editions available for the TD-17: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zumrrgRxJUE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SDaefx6Mk5U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EyYnp4JCIP8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r1408Q86nH8.html All of them are to be found over here: www.drum-tec.com/modules/drum-tec-sound-editions Kind regards!
So I bought this drum kit the way he came out. I got the KBS I believe, the one in the middle for $1200. I’m guessing all of the kids that you guys edited with the 2017 are using the mahogany snare because in my opinion, all the other snares that come with the kit don’t sound that good unless your sub instrument or main instrument is the mahogany. I had the TD 11 before this and although not all of those stairs were great, there was more than just one that was good
New Vdrum owner here with question about sampling my real cymbals, etc... Will the samples i make only be the sample i make triggered, or will the pressure sensitive elements will work like hitting cymbals soft/hard? Then how about sampling hihats? Closed, Half open, and lifting up, etc? Will this all work out well or is it just a trigger that triggers my sample only and hi hats will just be a 1 shot/1 hit only, etc etc? Can anyone explain this to me? thanks (td17)kvx
Do those Roland crash cymbals fit on regular cymbal stands (Yamaha, for example) and still have flexibility to move like they do in this video? When I look at the Roland cymbals on your website the hole in the middle of the cymbals looks very small...
Hi, the Roland cymbals come with the CYM-10 mounts, so that they don't rotate on the cymbal holder, yet have a natural swing. Those are also available separately: www.drum-tec.com/roland-cym-10-set?number=1001994 The hole in the middle of the cymbals should be big enough for any standard cymbal holder. Kind regards!
Hey Paul, yes every single instrument can be edited. If you get your TD-17 module/kit from drum-tec directly, you´ll get the Live Sound Edition that is shown in this video as a free goodie with it :) www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-17-sound-module-with-live-sound-edition Please feel free to get in touch through info@drum-tec.de for any further questions or an individual quote incl. international shipping. Kind regards!
As a drummer for 55 years, I like the sound of the Pearl better. But you can never replace a Ziljuan cymbal. Any of these kits with a set of Zees would sound really good because a kit has to keep up with the real cymbal sound, these cymbals are not cutting it for me.
Your samples are bananas. You don’t have the samples available as a download do you? Also... It blows my mind that Roland doesn’t include a good super dry 70s dead drum sound. Like you might hear on a Steely Dan record
Hi, you are right the TD-17 Live Sound Edition is not available separately. It comes for free with the purchase of a TD-17 module/kit from drum-tec. But there are several other drum-tec Sound Editions for the TD-17, that are available separately: www.drum-tec.com/modules/drum-tec-sound-editions Kind regards!
Thanks man! I always worry about my watches when I drum, because I primarily use automatic watches. Too much wrist movement can break the mechanism. You don't have that problem though? Are the ones you use battery powered/quartz?
Hi there, please check out product overview video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fipwhEhFYVo.html For any further product info, please get in touch through info@drum-tec.de directly! Kind regards
Using a Roland TD-17 for live shows would you recommend a power amp to boost level before the P.A? I seem to be running out of volume in live shows especially with our guitarist who "needs" to be at 11 on his volume
Hi, we do have some sound editions for sale separately (unfortunately not the TD-17 Live Sound Edition, which is a free gift with every TD-17 kit / module from drum-tec): www.drum-tec.com/modules/drum-tec-sound-editions KInd regards!
@@DhanniMichael Hey Lane, unfortunately the Live Sound Edition will probably remain an exclusive giveaway for our kit/module customers. But we are working on more sound editions for TD-17, that will also be available for purchase! :) kind regards
I really hope you guys offer this as a download. I understand you want to sell your module. But I already own the module and live in the US. Please consider this.
Thank you Joshua, we do consider this. As of right now we've decided against it. We are, however, working on more Sound Editions or the TD-17 (like the Metal Edition) that will be made available for sale. If you (or anyone else reading this!) would like to be notified please write a quick email to m.hemme@drum-tec.de and I'll notify you as soon as the next Edition is out! (Please also include your module since we release Sound Editions for other Roland modules as well!)
I saw that you offer metal sounds for the TD-17, are you going to offer the download for the Live sounds as well? I didnt see it on your download list.
Hey there, unfortunately the Live Sound Editions are an exclusive giveaway for our drum-tec customers with the purchase of a TD-17 kit or module. They are not for sale separately. Sorry & kind regards!
Hi drumtec, so I’ve noticed the TD 17 sound module with the live sound edition kits is not available for order and I have purchased from the other sound editions on your website. I already have the TD 17 module and I noticed that other TD live sound editions are available for purchase on your website without the requirements of purchasing a new module or a new kit alongside it. May I ask why the double standard on availability and that you would please make this module available as the others are? Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Hi, the LIve Sound Edition always is an exclusive goodie that comes only the purchase of a sound module from drum-tec. As soon as the sound module is discontinued, we make the Live Sound Edition available for purchase as well. Kind regards!
Hey Joe, all drum-tec pads have mesh heads & rubber rim covers, so they have pretty much the same noise levels as the Rolands, there are no resonances at all. The bass drum pads are even a little more quiet than KD-10, KD-120 or KD-140: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rQcpY2VAuro.html Kind regards!
How well would the Yamaha BR-15, 2 way speaker work with these kits? My keyboardist used 2 of them for smaller shows, I think it's an 800 watt system. But it does do well with all the highs and lows.
Hi Nick, sorry I do not have any first hand experience with those. You can find some electronic drum approved systems that we like to suggest over here: www.drum-tec.com/accessories/monitoring Kind regards
Hey Ed, thank you very much! :) but I suppose Superior Drummer still has more sample depth & dynamic layers, making it sound somewhat more realistic ;) kind regards!
@@stevec7435 We ship internationally :) ... www.drum-tec.com/shipping-costs-payment-options Unfortunately, the Live Sound Edition is not for sale independently. drumtecTV awesome thankyou for the info. I will definitely purchase the metal pack as it sounds amazing also!. What double kick do you use?, I don’t know if I should try a direct drive or stick to the iron cobra.
@@stevec7435 Hey Steve, I am actually using the standard drum-tec foot pedals for the demos: www.drum-tec.com/drum-tec-dp-2007twp-double-bass-drum-pedal-9700-series But sure there are more options around: www.drum-tec.com/hardware/pedals?p=1 If you need some detailled advice, don´t hesitate to get in touch through info@drum-tec.de, the guys will help you out! :)
