how could we have known what was coming? My uncle bought us a 1680 back in 1998 or 99...man i spent 1000's of hours balls deep in that machine. It started my career. I was such a MASTER at everything VS related....still am. Our beloved 1680 is in an anvil case at the very top of 1 of my closets. She will never leave my side as long as there is breath in my body. I remember using the vs software to convert all the files to wave when i was first making the jump to Computer software. The most beautiful memories. My uncle passed in 2013 =(
I bought it new for £110 it s an amazing machine to have at this price.. I had the vs 880 when they introduced them in the market it was an advanced machine in that time , beautiful efx etc...i spent great time with it.. I keep it in memory of Roland Co. ;) Thank you Roland for the concept.
Do I have to an oldshool receiver, double cassette tape deck & wire speaker monitors plugged into the roland digital multi recorder & a music esoniq work station to record instrumentals to practice to, instead of burning out the device on repeat play?
Hello Marvin. I also have a VS-1680. I love this mixer. I received it as a gift, and have recorder some nice pieces on it. However, the one thing I can't seem to find is a compatible CD burner. I know that Roland no longer manufactures or sells obsolete parts. I was just wondering if you might have any ideas where I might be able to purchase a compatible CD burner. I am a "poor woman recording artist/producer". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello Taina,"A poor woman..."? Ah ah ah!!!! Absolutely NOT! Just an ARTIST :-) It is not very complicated to find a SCSI CD burner for 1680, 1880, 2480. And it's the same for IDE compatible HARD DRIVE HDD UPGRADE. I find absolutely everything on eBay Germany (www.ebay.de). You can also find these items on ebay.com (USA). For me, it's quite easy because I live on the German border. The VS-xXxX series is an excellent machine. I love it! I hope you will take as much pleasure as i use it :-) Regards
Marvin Gun Hey Marvin I'm looking forward to buy this, but I think I'm gonna use it just as a mixer, just wondering that u mention about fx, is the fx included inside the unit? Or u need something more, I heard somewhere that it needs some cards for that... I just think it will be great to have effect at least a reverb... Lol
Some clips of it here, guy skips around the track a bit, but only copy I've found so far... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BSDKeruksno.html
@@androidpitanga9846 What I meant was she's very technically competent of what that product and its offerings where not many sales people are struggling! I have had hard times trying to get information from sales reps about gear where they have no knowledge or don't know beyond the basic operations. Hope this clear your question.
