The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) hosts a discussion about the relationship between Muslims and the West, and U.S. policy with regard to Islam, Muslims, and Muslim Americans.
On this panel, we hear from Rabiah Ahmed (Director of Media and Communications at the Muslim Public Affairs Council), Salam al-Marayati (President at the Muslim Public Affairs Council), Hady Amr
(Senior Fellow at the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution), Shadi Hamid (Senior Fellow at the Project on U.S. Relations with the Islamic World at the Brookings Institution), and Hoda Hawa (Director at the Muslim Public Affairs Council).
The panel addresses a series of issues including expectations placed on American Muslims in combating terrorism, policy differences between the Obama and Trump administrations, immigration, and the potential impact of President Trump’s national security strategy which was scheduled to be announced the same day as this event.
