Thank you for all of your videos! It makes it a lot easier for someone interested in watchmaking. I'm 20 years old and was amazed as soon as I was shown what is inside a watch. I've been practicing and collecting for about 3 months now

It appears a better option is available for closing the barrel that is less damaging than using the hard surface of the tweezers. It looks as though micro scratches were introduced to the beautiful barrel surface after it was closed using tweezers.

I have 2 watches that had the stem pulled out while in the wrong changing position. now they will not click back into place correctly. is there a simple fix for this?

@@paulst6862 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the problem is a watch like any machine or engine, need someone that know what is doing, he must have the knowledgment of how tighhgt is it, is it running smooth is bend, is twisted, hAve weAR ,,ETC use the correct lube and in the rigth quantity, etd etc,,, and much more things. you fail in this your timegraph is not going to be good with you... you dont have a straight an pure line, your wathch WASNT CORRECTLY SERVICED,,, KEEP WITH DEFECTS...DEECTS WILL ENSHORT WATHC LIFE. SO IPREFER TO BUY A 50 YEAR WATHC that has been forgotten in a box, TO AN OLD LADY THAn BUY TO A SMART ASS IDIOT, THAT SAYS, WATHC IS RUNNING AND IN PERFECT CONDITION, I HAVE USED IT AND IST "working", WORKING AND PERFECT - my ass__ ! I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE WATCHES MARK SERVICE IN THE TIMEGRPH, HE NEVER SHOWS, AND I MISS IT, CAUSE I WANNA SEE EVERYTHING !

When removing the balance, do you have to take a part the front first, or can you remove the balance and cog without taking apart the front? About to try replacing the balance cog/spring on my first 3135 and am not sure...

Just looked up the cost of having a Rolex serviced by Rolex, 600 to1000$. I already have a couple of small screwdrivers and I nicked my wife’s tweezers - I’m in business!

He's disassembling it so it doesn't matter if he touches it as it will be cleaned. He wears finger cots when putting the watch back together.

@@garyboyle695 yeah, for gears and things, but you don’t clean dials whenever avoidable, it is too dangerous. You just are EXTREMELY careful with them. They are delicate and the finishes can be easily damaged or stained.

Since the dial is in the way, the first screws you tighten to loosen the movement from the case are pushing towards the case? Is that how it’s secured?

Beautiful to watch you at work. One question - will the grease from one’s fingers not damage the edges of the dial if handling it in this way during disassembly?

I have a union horogere 18 ... watch of an unknown year. You can fully recover. There is no glass, no crown and the pendulum is broken.

May I ask is there any difference between movement 2135 and 3135? I know it's obvious the sizes is different. But other than that? Can I use the tutorials of this video to service a 2135 ladies Rolex?

Hello good afternoon. I am starting to learn about mechanical watches. I bought old and cheap movements, to learn how to assemble and disassemble, to begin to understand the operation. I have a doubt one of these movements still works, but did not come to Crown and TIGE. Is there a way to adapt something to wind up and see the movement work?

I was seeing a part of the video and this video like a tutorial is beautiful !! but omg rolex movements are very bad finishing, if we would be talking to 400 500 dlls movmenet are ok, but for 7000 or 8000 dlls, it is an abuse, and the ppl are still going to buy them.

...removing the hands, with those tiny crowbars...through the plastic cover...that´s were i´d damage something - even if i´d be careful as hell. Thank god we have professionals..

I'm not being funny, but it's clear from this video, the way you talk and operate demonstrates that working on watches requires a highly systematic and methodical approach, with extreme care and a whole bunch of knowledge and experience. I have ordered the wrong one a few times due to less than perfect parts breakdowns I have. My screw head broke off. Nice job, but I was surprised you waited so long to remove the balance assembly. I always remove the balance assembly first.. easiest part to break! lol

The loading dock (balance power) in this movement 3135 is gray? I see that in other photos or videos in blue.

Could you make a video that shows how/why the date change on an automatic watch takes a while to slide into the correct date position? Are the cogs inside broken or is something misaligned? I have an Omega that takes several hours after midnight for the date to change to the correct poistion. It slowly changes to the correct position instead of just clicking over immediately like my other watches.

Perhaps you have answered this question before in one of your fantastic videos but here it goes, sometimes when you are reaching for a part in the watch it appears as if you are not grasping it with intent and this is why I like to ask you, are you working looking through a loupe or are you doing the work looking at the magnified camera screen? Just curious.

The old 3035 was still more robust. Rolex seems to honor efficiency over durability in their automatic works; they have one of the most efficient self-winding mechanisms anywhere, but the small central post which makes this possible causes it to be more susceptible to shock.

Great video. Have serviced many similar but wouldn’t have put back the balance for cleaning. (Interesting) always cleaned balance seperately. But personal choices. To any aspiring watchmakers out there, remember it takes years to be able to work like this so be careful. Keep up the good work.

Doesn't the 3135 use the same movement ? .. But how come the Sub is 40mm and this one is 34mm how does the movement adjust ????!

Nirnay Pradhan Yes, the Date Submariner and the Datejust do use the 3135. The difference in size is just caused by an overall difference in case size.

You take the endstones out with their settings and soak them in cleaner, dry off and lubricate. I think my series on the mechanical watch is more clear on this part :) How to service a mechanical watch. Part 1. AS 1900 in a Rotary watch
