@@TheRandomWatchDude I was aiming of the new Sky Dweller solid yellow on jubilee, but the price of $54k has gotten ridiculous. 7 years ago on 2017 the retail was $30k, I switched my mind to a solid gold Cartier Santos for $30k. The extra money is not worth it anymore imo.
@@frankv7068 I agree the price of some models is no longer worth it, especially some of the precious metal models. The prices are not realistic, and that goes for a lot of watches
Hi Gerry my advice is to go and visit both, and register your interest with both. And keep following that up with occasional visits. If you want a GMT Master II my advice is to spend some money with them on something else first, as GMTs rarely end up on the wrists of first time buyers. Check out my video 'the waitlist explained' and good luck!
Great looking watch. To me it’s a fun and exciting solid gold piece, more playful less serious vibes. I enjoy your videos. They are inspiring and informative. I appreciate your great blend of fact and opinion.
Super cool! It was great to see it "live". I've owned the DSSD in stainless and apart from the thickness, I loved it. This gold version is just such an oxymoron that it simply... works. I've gotten into precious metal this year, having picked up a few Panerai in red, white, and pink gold. They get a lot of wrist time. I wear them even when there is no occasion. I think the price tag would keep me from adding this to the watch box, but if the budget were there, who knows.
Did it make you interested again for the Deep Sea? Got the d-blue recently and as expected amazingly comfortable watch, definitely more comfortable than a marine master.
I can't imagine how heavy that watch must be. I went the exact opposite direction and recently bought an Ocean X homage/clomage of the James Cameron Deep Sea in grade 5 Titanium. Sized for my wrist it came in at 146g versus 223g for the stainless steel version. I absolutely love it!
Like you said, this is the type of watch that you buy to admire and wear at home. There's absolutely no way that I would feel safe walking around alone outside with that massive gold and blue Rolex. Would absolutely love to see and admire on another person wrist in real life!
Hello, I really enjoyed your video! I'm also based in Auckland. To be honest, you can wear that watch anywhere, even at home. Over the years, I've managed to acquire some impressive pieces, although some of them rarely see the light of day. Nonetheless, I'd say experimenting with them at home brings me a lot of joy.
Hello to a fellow Aucklander! Gollum's cave (home) is definitely a great place to enjoy these watches, and to be honest. here in NZ there aren't many places I wouldn't be happy to wear a nice watch, apart from in the office at work where you might be judged!
I thought this was a joke when it was first announced. But I saw the very same watch in Partridges window recently and changed my mind. It’s obscene, hilarious and actually pretty cool 😎
I like the two-tone GMTs a lot. Personally I would go with yellow gold as that's the only gold to have, in my opinion. But I am 50 so possibly more drawn to the classic styles that I grew up around, and cherry gold was not around!
wow... it is indeed a gollum watch and quite polarising, i own an 116660 normy DSSD and it is the rolex i wore the most (i'm an omega guy so planet ocean and ploprof gets most wrist time) but my daughter who doesn't like watches and showed your video to my daughter and loved it 😂... she told me she is a gold girl she realised seeing it... the reason why I love the DSSD and sub is the micro-adjustment glide-lock... are you a member of RBNZ? if so, I will subscribe 😂... if not please tell Jarrod I said hi ❤
Haha you should tell her to go and try it on at PJ! I'm going there tomorrow for a looksy. Yes I'm a member of RBNZ, and have been known to post the occasional wrist shot!
Hello yes it was already sold. Very likely the new owner is going to pick up from the airport so they get the 15% tax deduction when they leave the country with it, and wear it on holiday whilst at the roulette table in Las Vegas or something!
Nice looking watch! Looks good on you. Probably a little too big for me, but I’ve got the smaller yg/blue Sub and really like it. As to when and where to wear a watch like this, well, whenever you please - at home, when meeting the wife for lunch, when watch shopping down Queen Street - whenever. So long - as you say - you’re wearing the watch and it’s not wearing you. I wear at least one of my nicer watches every day. I’m literally sitting in a hotel room alone right now watching RU-vid and wearing a platinum Daytona just because it makes me happy. I guess that might sound a bit Gollum-ish? Hah! Cheers!
I like to refer to it as gollum-like for a bit of fun, but honestly you rock that Daytona and enjoy ogling at it from every angle, and playing with it in the light!
This watch is an obvious upgrade to the Bluesy and full gold submariner. Why would anyone by a gold C class Mercedes if they can get a gold E class Mercedes...
Whow can you have so soon this rolex deepsea,i think for having it in france with my AD i will need to spent 250000$ this years in hugly diamonds rolex for having the honor to buy one
@@srbell67 to be fair, the Sprite GMT went bonkers when it was first released and then dropped significantly once it became obvious that supply wasn't an issue. What we don't know yet, is whether Rolex will make it ultra rare or easy to get
Gold or Steel still the same Movement HOWEVER which will make Rolex earn more??....and also moving Rolex to "Next Level" as they always wishing tooooooooooooo! ;)
Sorry mate it looks like an Invicta 😂😂 you know i love your content mate and think your taste in watches is cool, I'm not with you on this one mark.sorry
I love it for all the wrong reasons precious! Yes it does look like an Invicta from more than 10 feet away! Ostentatious conspicuous wealth at its finest! And I cant afford it!
Ive tried it on makes you feel good but then when seeing someone else wear it looks daft so its a nay for me cant imagine what folk will think of me when wearing one 😂😂😂 ... if you are a drug dealer or big rapper then maybe yeh it will suit but in general looks terrible😂
Rolex strike again. Lets go back in time a few weeks. Here there and everywhere we got 'What the bloody hell are Rolex thinking by releasing the Deepsea in all gold , what is the strategy behind this ??. Ha ha and away we go Gotcha again. I've said it many many times in that they are the Kings of marketing. Personaly its not for me , never been a fan of Gold watches although I have to say it does look stunning. Gold and Blue Explorer , please go away Mark I feel sick at the thought.
I always said I liked the Deepsea from the day it was released. I dont like all the other diamond dial Daytonas and the like. I think I'm just jealous as I can't afford any of them 😕
