Great review! I just bought one in excellent condition. From 1978 with original box and bracelet. Really happy with it so far, it’s even keeping time at +/- 2spd.
hi dilshan, great review! but can i know, why the "oysterdate" font sometimes smaller than the "rolex" font...and sometimes they're bigger? is it because of year of the manufacturing?
Wow, I actually learned more from you today. Thanks for tip of bracelet. I have 6694 in black dial with rose gold hand etc and own another watch Rolex 6426 in silver dial. Great watch to own. Cheers
*I inherited a Rolex Oysterdate Precision with gold (or gold plated) number symbols with pointed ends. I wonder what the pointed ends tell you and whether the number symbols are made of real gold or goldplated. Further the riveted stainless steel bracelet is not Rolex but Solvil Titus. Any idea when the watch was made and their value? Also at the bottom of the dial is the word "SWISS" without the "T" before of after. Thanks*
It might be a really early iteration of the 6694. The watch definitely will have value if it is an original Rolex, so I'll need to see some pictures before concluding! :)
Great review! I bought one yesterday, was having second thoughts today in regards to the watch size. Thought it might sit a little small on the wrist. But I think it will work well as a suit watch. So you think the price of the watch will continue to rise over the years?
Congratulations with your purchase, mate! I think that the boy-size never goes out of style, and will continue to be the ideal size for a dress watch. So having a boy-size vintage Rolex is something you should be very proud of, with little to no worry about the value retention and increment, as that is inevitable.
Hello i have 3 Omega 565,752,1012 but I donot not abuot Rolex so please tall me what is the price of this watch codition is good becouse i want please tell me what is the velue of this Rolex in india please
That's a great question. I've been lying to myself thinking I knew the answer to why people prefer to keep it unpolished. Just assumed it came down to aesthetic, but now I'm not sure. Maybe because once it's been polished you can't go back to it being unpolished.
Hmm i'm in a dilemma here, i got a 6694 everything seems to be authentic except for the dial which i am sus of. the Crown is not perfect (but its vintage so not the biggest thing) but i can hardly find any 'Swiss only' versions online except for 1 other forum that talks about it. its likely the dial is actually older than the watch when compared with the serial number
Rolex had these dials made by a few different companies over the years. Some dials say T Swiss Made T. Many say T Swiss T. Some have "Oysterdate" printed narrower than "Rolex", and some say the "Oysterdate" printed wider than "Rolex". Just examine the dial, especially the writing, to be sure it hasn't been repainted or reconditioned. The condition of the dial is significant in determining the value of the watch.
Hello Tom! I got that Epsom Leather strap from LuxorLeather on Instagram. He's a small business on Instagram but his care and craftsmanship is second to none. I have about 10 straps from him! :)
I thinking of buying one for aud 3000, which has dial changed to copper Roman figure dial, the sale includes the original dial and hands !,, with the bracelet ! Is it a good deal ?…
Hello mate! That should be from 1984. Not sure how to answer your next question as I do not know which part (or parts) of the wristwatch has been modified and/or replaced.
@@dilshantime3101 ; sir , ooppsss my bad ... the dial & bezel has diamonds ... i got at a local pawnshop ... on a nice leather strap though ... thank you once again sir !!!
@@LeonChetsky3230 I see. You could take it to a Rolex service centre and tell them you want it reinstated to its original condition, they might or might not help. Otherwise, try sourcing for an original 6694 dial & bezel from eBay. Good luck!
If you will get a 6694 … try also looking at any 36mm ( & above) rolex datejust … as much as possible with box & papers … enjoyyyyyy …. It is mr.Dilshan’s advice that is more informative … peaceeeeee
Good review, thank you. I have a 6694, case in brass rose goldplated 80 microns. Bezel was lost so I put a stainless steel one, as well as a SS original Rolex crown. I find it looks great so. Inside the SS case back it's mentioned 80 microns goldplated case. Lovely vintage dial.
My friend and I purchased a pair of them new in 1972 - he still has his with original bracelet in good condition considering the age. Think we paid about 200 CAD for them. His dial has turned tropical, it was originally blue and now grey. Parts are scarce for them, I would be wary of purchasing one today.
