Have not sent any of my Rolex for service before but instead sent my Pelagos under warranty to RSC last year due to some issues and was given a black Tudor service pouch when I picked up my watch.
I just got my vintage DJ serviced by an RSC here in the US and got the leather pouch, a cloth, and a hat lol. I think it had to do with the fact that the entire service took almost 4 months from getting the quote back to getting the call to pick the watch up (almost 6 if you count the 6 weeks it took to even get the repair quote). Not sure the hat made up for the long wait though. I just wanted my watch back
I recently collected my first Rolex in Melbourne Australia at Boutellier Montres Rolex Boutique and was given one of these in a maroon colour, their own branded pouch. I thought it was nice. Didn’t know Rolex does them 😮
I just got my leather service pouch from rolex after 3 weeks of service for my 2009 114270 at rolex service centre in Singapore.. Very happy with the service..
I have both the leather pouch and the suede pouch from Rolex. When I had my watch serviced in Beverly Hills at the RSC twice. The first time it was the leather one and the second time the suede one.
I just picked up a rolex after it was serviced and they gave me a nicer and sturdier version of that pouch, made of leather or "pleather" but yes it is quite nice. Maybe your SA didn't know what he was talking about?
